If a Killer disconnects...
...it's because of you. You are the problem. You are the reason the state of gameplay is what it is. It's all fun and games until there is nobody left to play Killer. Don't forget.

Not all survivors play douchey & if something is in the game people are going to use it, therefore you should blame the devs for balance rather than the players.
With this being said, this game is incredibly unbalanced & I agree with you. There has been many times I've went AFK as killer because I gave up & didn't get back on the role for a very long time.
Perks like DS & OoO should be completely reworked because it is just ridiculous. Of course there might be some OP things on the killer side as well but not near as much as the survivor side.

this big duh why I don't play killer much anymore.

You're right, not all survivors are douchey, but a lot of them are. I don't blame killers for dcing during loading screen when they have last minute switchers and a map offering. It's really all killers can do, short of not playing anymore, to get the devs attention to the problems and un-fun situations killers are put in.
I also don't blame survivors for using the tools they have provided, that's all on the devs. It just seems that the devs won't do anything unless players force their hand.

Exactly.

I've had a few Killers DC lately and it honestly makes me feel bad. I've been told I shouldn't care, but I do... I play this game to have fun and that means I like others to have fun with me and I don't try to make people DC and I don't find it funny in the slightest...
16 -
I laugh my ass off when a killer DCs. Spend way too long chasing someone, multiple gens pop, DC. It's the best.
9 -
You are exactly the kind of problem this post is talking about. It’s vile to get joy out of someone else’s misery and frustration.
39 -
Don't you think that's kinda childish ?
30 -
I played well and the killer throws a tantrum and DCs. I'm supposed to feel bad for that? Nah fam, it's ######### funny. If you can't handle this game, play something else.
10 -
And the killer throwing a tantrum and DCing isn't?
8 -
And lemme guess. You're going to pretend a survivor DCing after being outplayed isn't something you find amusing? Hypocrites.
11 -
No. Any DC is cause for concern. That player is clearly not in a good head space and probably needs some empathy.
31 -
I'm being completely honest here. In my games as survivor the killer has only DC'd when they're playing really weak killers and just can't catch up; clown, bubba, trapper, etc. In all my games I don't think I've seen a single nurse or spirit DC unless they we're literally rank 20 and just started the game or something.
1 -
Hypocrite. Below is a quote from you showing how you would dc in order to avoid "bullshit". Click on it to be directed to the source thread. You should stop playing this game if you can't handle things you don't like.
I love that there's no DC penalty right now. Lets me avoid so much bullshit.
29 -
This is why I stopped playing Killer pretty much all together
7 -
Honestly people need to stop playing the victim. Survivors aren’t any more the problem than the killers are. Neither side owes the other one anything. Don’t like keys? Hate moris and insta-downs? Suck it up, buttercup. They’re legal. They’re going to be used.

I get stunned at a pallet and tbagged by an entire team so then I say ######### it and slug for the 4K when I’m usually very chill then get called a piece of ######### etc. There’s so winning so just keep on keeping on and try to have some fun. Don’t be afraid to take breaks too.

Remember, the killer can't even be responsible for pressing escape and going over to the "Leave game" button, because it always makes me feel better to have someone else to blame.
3 -
Now that's hilarious.
Whataboutthism at its finest.
Stop it, you're embarrassing yourself.
14 -
No.. the killer who's crying on the forums and DCing over a pallet stun and a T bag is the problem, nothing in this game is toxic except the endgame chat and the insults, people are way too soft it's not like the survivors can hold the killer down and physically sack to mouth them.
3 -
Ya guessed wrong. I hate it when survivors DC because it likely means they were having a bad game and I don't like playing to intentionally give people that experience unlike you.
It also makes the game unfun for the other Survivors many times as well. That 1 DC could ruin the game for 4 other players and it makes me feel bad if I contributed something in game that led them to that choice.
7 -
Nobody is playing the victim. I am trying to play a game for fun in my free time. When it works out that everyone is on that same wavelength it's a great time win or lose. When it doesn't line up that way... I got better things to do with my time and life.
8 -
I can typically only play 3-4 matches as Killer before I feel so ######### I have to quit or take a break. Many days I can't even work up the interest to even launch or play at all. I'll always try to have fun but I am tired of being a punching bag for others.
10 -
Speak for yourself. I never DC or give up as killer, and I will fight to the end for my 1k if it comes to that. Survivors who DC make my day
6 -
Absolutely agree. I'll take a ban and keep my sanity rather than get pissed off at some rude gameplay from immature people. I have plenty of other games to play and I didn't wait 10-20mins for a match like the survivors did.
3 -
Baby. Hardly worth of your name “skull grind”
0 -
Cool. That was a great addition to the conversation. Too bad you aren't more like your name and SILENT
6 -
Sorry in actually good at the game. Keep quitting and playing by the survivor rule book while you do it
1 -
Another massive addition (in a steaming pile) to the thread. You're on a roll
5 -
Sorry, I’m not some baby loser who DCs when things don’t go my way.
4 -
If it got bad enough to the point that Behavior had to add a d/c penalty, why didn't they look into the reason why people want to d/c so much?
5 -
I can absolutely relate. Not to get too deep but I play games to escape depression and keep my mind distracted from the negative “what’s the point in living” thought cycle. Escapism isn’t the greatest strategy but it helps to cope. I love Dbd but unfortunately it’s not always laid back and can even exacerbate a downed mood.. we can inflict that same feeling on a real human behind a monitor simply by taking part in the activity, even if there was no malicious intent.. just wanted to enjoy the game ourselves, you know?
Those are the times a break is needed the most but since I still want to keep up with Dbd I’ll honestly kick back and watch Ohtofu streaming for some chill vibes or catch some YouTube vids of him, Otz, TrU3, ScottJund and so on.

Hey, here's a thought.
If you decide to launch the game, queue up, get into a match, you know well what the game's like and what you're getting into, and you think you wanna give it a go anyways..
And then, because you apparently hadn't realized you're not equipped for the possibility of having a bad match or two in a multiplayer game where you know and accepted that this could happen, decide you want to make the multiple step deliberate process of disconnecting from the match..
That's on you. Entirely. Forward and backward. They played the game, you decided you didn't wanna anymore. No shame in leaving it at that.
But I invite you to contemplate how unbelievable it is for you to see that process and tsk as you shake your head, waggling your finger and going "this is all your faults. How could you make them do that? Blight upon the community that you are, for shame."
Imagine speaking down to a community of people playing a videogame like this.
I'm not even saying that some people who play aren't absolute fun vampires who ought to be talked down to more from time to time, but for gods' sake, let people have some self-responsibility.

Ummm no. (These are my experience.)
1.) A survivor 'ran them for too long'. Look, I'm not a great looper by any stretch of the imagination. I have some games where I do well and most that.... well I don't. But the killer DCs early on because 2 gens popped while they were chasing 1 surv the entire time. Not to mention that how long a chase is engaged is entirely in the killer's control.
2.) They tried to play sly with slugging, maybe it was a challenge/daily, but ended up with all survivors back up and no hooks.
3.) 1 or 2 Gens popped before they got the first hook.
4.) End game came about and their NOED got cleansed with only one survivor down.
5.) Survivors got their Devour Hope totem.
6.) They tried to camp, but Deliverance, of all perks, came in clutch. Letting the surv on the hook escape and the other 2 use the other exit door because the killer was betting on them trying to rescue the other one.
It's not anyone's 'fault' but yours if you decide to yeet out of a game. The same goes for survivors who DC or die on first hook because their up against a killer/set up/teammates they don't want to deal with. it makes the game unfun for everyone at that point, but at least if 1 survivor DCs, everyone, including the Killer can still try to make the best of it.
3 -
So let me get this straight... if a killer dcs and I am playing survivor it is my fault? Oh. Ok.
I wonder if the same theory applies to survivors who dc. Oh no, cuz in that case they were just salty and got outplayed. Amirite?
3 -
This.
Gaming should be fun, not a torturous chore.
10 -
"misery and frustration" over a videogame. I will continue to laugh at DCers, thanks.
2 -
If a killer disconnects, it's solely his problem. Playing multiplayer game and expecting opponents to play dumb - this is a real hypocrisy. Either grow a backbone, or play something simpler. Animal crossing is a good choice.
4 -
Sorry for trying to survive. Of course every Survivor should make the Killer kill them, if they struggle. Why improving when they can get it gifted, eh?
5 -
Because you don’t play killer on red rank...
2 -
There's a difference between a toxic player and a good player.
7 -
Entirely true. Sometimes the difference is acting like a decent human being. Mocking killers at the exit gates and refusing to leave, straight up taking the game hostage, rude lobby chats, hell I've seen players GANG UP on new killers and mercilessly bully them, chain flashlighting, sandbagging, the works. It honestly can destroy a killer main's morale.
Remember the killer behind the screen IS in fact a person.
This goes for other players in your group too, survivors! I've seen enough solo cue people taken off the hook right in front of me. Farming your teammates for kicks, shame on you! You know who you are.
6 -
There are too many reasons. But you are partly right. While they cant fix everything they could atleast change some things which for the majority is unfun. But i have no idea how much work is it, what they tried etc. From my perspective i want many changes, but thats only my perspective.
But whatever it is that stops them doing this chances (Time, they dont want this changes, they dont care etc.) one thing remains. We dont need to play the game.
2 -
People on this thread defending killers dcing, hopefully you aren't the same ones complaining when a survivor dcs.
6 -
Yh everyone does that. But for everyone fun is something different. You cant change so many people. So when they make dbd no fun for someone, the best choice would be for they guy who has no fun to stop playing DbD.
How many will play DbD in 10 years anyway? How many will remember they played DbD in 20 years? DbD is not that important that anyone should stay when they have a chance to suffer through it.
2 -
So when survivors complain about face camping and tunneling, killer mains say they dont care about a "survivor rulebook", but when killers complain about all these things, that a lot of them don't even give any advantage, survivors have to think about it?
6 -
I'm not on the side of making people miserable, but -- the guy you're quoting is describing a situation where a killer stays in a futile chase for too long, multiple gens are completed, and the killer DCs out of frustration. That is definitely not the survivors' fault if a killer doesn't know when to give up on a bad chase.
5 -
Call me old fashioned, but I feel empathy when I see someone getting farmed right in front of me. I tend not to camp (it's generally uneffective anyways, and you as a killer should be pressuring other survivors instead of staring dead-eyed at one poor soul), but I've had survivors straight up run me TO the hook and unhook their friends right in front of me. I've also had a team bombard the hook like lemmings before, not letting me leave, or loop around the hooks.
I think most killer mains brush off some of the "survivor rulebook" because what they may claim as hooking, tunneling, or other such behavior is often claimed in circumstances where it did not apply, or where a killer literally can't help the situation. One example is again, the whole team immediately bombards the hook the second the person is on it. I'm not saying it's okay, but often times killers are ignored, bullied, or sometimes even ganged up on. As in entire SWF teams reporting someone who didn't do anything, just to get them banned for no reason.
Personally, I have my own personal honor code as a killer. This often bites me in the end, since many survivors will abuse this as "weakness", and will hassle a killer for being weak in their eyes instead of being a decent person. Which is why many killers are so bitter about it. It's a vicious cycle.
