downside to it people complain more so now they have to either make their servers better or remove the feature

Suffering from awful connection was quite rare, now it is a daily thing. And back then you saw ping go above 200 you just left and got into a lobby that didn't have a potato killer, now matchmaking is slower (though the 3 man lobby is fixed at least) and 200 is pretty much average
