Have you ever felt bad if someone DCs?
I sometimes feel bad when a player DC. I feel like it was my fault they DC as they were so frustrated with me that they left. I unintentionally destroyed their fun.
I remember when I was playing swf with my friends and we had a huntress on midwich. I was looping her at a dropped pallet and she kept missing her hatchets. I messed up at one point and vaulted the pallet and she tried to hit me. Luckily I 360ed her and vault the pallet and made a run for the door. The she DCed. My friends told me to message them but I didn't want to be toxic and make it worse.
Have you ever felt bad that a player DCed?

Yes. I feel bad for my bbq stacks

Of course. I'm not very good at survivor, and I don't do anything to provoke the killer, so when a killer DCs I feel bad because the terrible matchmaking is the only reason I could possibly have frustrated them, and the bad matchmaking isn't their fault.

No
But then, people always DC in the dumbest moments for me. Like after first hook or when I pick them up and they're at death hook. Like if you'd just waited, you'd have gotten some sweet bloodpoints or seen the endgame screen barely 10 seconds later

Sure, if it's a really bad killer that got screwed by matchmaker who DC's I'll feel bad. I don't necessarily like running the killer for 5 gens and watching them rage quit, only to see they were Rank 20 in the endgame screen.
With that being said, I've had survivors and killer alike DC at really dumb times for really stupid reasons. (My favourite of which was a Bubba that DC'd with 5 gens left because I sabo'd a hook, and then bodyblocked the next one so the survivor could wiggle out, and they DC'd. The match had barely started.)
Pretty much if they DC because I ran them all game and they aren't purple or higher I'll feel bad. Otherwise, it just kinda happens and people DC for odd reasons I can't understand.

Depends on the circumstances of the DC.
If it's the "game just started and you downed me/game just started and you made a good play and got away" DC, then nah. If you literally can't handle the game not immediately going your way, then maybe today's not a day you should play.
If it's the "nothing the whole game's gone right and at this point i'm just being BM'd", like a killer never getting a down over multiple gens and getting t-bagged on the other side of pallets, or a survivor just never getting a chance and getting immediately focused down, smacked on the hook and tunneled/camped straight 'till death with teammates not helping, I can sympathize. I'd take a more graceful out, but I don't blame 'em or get mad at 'em.

My favorite is when a survivor dcs as im getting them on their third hook. Bonus points for me.

I'd ask what you mean by 'felt bad' and the extrapolation behind why. It's not easy answer and everyone has their own limits.
Generally speaking, no I don't, because I have no idea why they DC'ed. Were they just mad things didn't meet their exceptions? Did they just realize that today was not their day for playing? Did they have a pizza in the oven, mistime the baking and have to run (or other such circumstance)? Never had anyone explain why they DC, so I shrug and move on.

I feel bad for the other survivors that just want to play the game like I do but not the DCer.

if it's a killer yes if it's a survivor no unless they did most of the gens

I feel bad for killers to a certain extent, if a person is just getting looped left and right and can't keep up at all it was probably not good matchmaking and I feel bad for that. But also it's not my fault the killer got frustrated and quit, it's their problem for not keeping their cool and acting logically in a situation like that. But everyone has a right to quit out of a game they don't enjoy, so take that for what it is.

Depends on the manner of the dc.
- If it was dc just as the match loads in, I feel bad.
- If 2 people DC I feel bad for the 2 remaining.
- If it's dc the moment they find out which killer I am, don't feel bad.
- If someone dc'ed because they got hit first, I dont feel bad.
- If someone dced because they failed a mind game. dont feel bad
- If they dced because they landed their DS and got caught again. Dont feel bad
If it was a genuine DC I feel bad but if I feel it was deliberate in any way. I do not go easy. In fact I try even harder. So when they complain in the end game chat I tell them to file a report against the quitter because they were the ones who screwed you.

Nope. Other people’s inability to handle their emotions is not my problem

Mad yes, specially last week, downed one than went toward her and turned around cause I heard flashlight teamates come closer, I lunged then turned towards her, she dc during pickup, went to the other one she dc during pickup, 5 gens, I let the other 2 go after 1hook, they ruined my bbq stacks so didn't wanna kill the remaining 2 that got left behind anyway.
One point I felt tiniest bit bad was when someone got unhooked, 10seconds later they ran straight to me as I was chasing someone, he was infront of me so I hit him. Didn't wanna pick him up i continued my chase, he DCd very fast after I left.
The aftermath rage chat made me feel slot better since he started spraying insults and calling me a tunneling camper.
I felt bad only once and it wasn't due to DC, 4 console players, I was fairly new to the game, closed the hatch and wanted to let her go, brought her to my noed(it was Saw map) then took her to gate, but I didn't think she had enough time left so I picked her up dropped her and tried to open the door for her.... Didn't know it doesn't work that way back then... Still feel a bit bad
Now if players got punished and killer got 3x hook points for each DC and BBQ stacks that would be lovely, same for suicides

I only feel bad for the remaining survivors in the match.
Their match is ruined because of a butthurt player.

Depends on the circumstance.
I had a survivor dc because when i was going to hook him for the first time his whole team body blocked and sabo'd the hook and i had to drop him, i proceeded to camp his body while all 3 of his teammates tried to pull me away to pick him up while still staying far enough away that that it wouldve been a full on chase to get a first hit. Eventually half his bleedout meter was used up and he dc'd. I didnt feel bad about that because if any of his teammates came in and took a hit i would have chased them and he wouldve gotten picked up.
On the otherside i had a blendette squad and i accidentally tunnelled one of them because i couldnt tell them apart and while there was nothing i could do i did still feel a litttle bad about it when they dc'd

I'm sure I did, at one point or another, but it really depends on why the DC happened. Sometimes, the DC would be because someone was tunneled by a killer, for example. As another survivor seeing this, while it sucks for every survivor that someone decides to DC, I get why they did it. Other times, survivors just DC because they were downed early, which is stupid, in my opinion. Same for killers DCing when there are still 5/4 gens left because they can't down a survivor.

Once. It was a match where everyone brought BPS, except the Killer who brought the anniversary cake. (That’s better, of course.
During the match: One of the survivors in the match got an error in their application, ended up having to close it and disconnecting in the process.
Needless to say, they were pretty angry. But, I have so much respect for them to continue playing this game, after that incident.
Edit: Sorry, twice. It was a game against a Freddy. The guy couldn’t win any chases and DC’ed at 4 or 3 Gens left.
He was Rank 17. Matchmaking screwed him over and queued him up with all red ranked survivors. Can’t really blame him.

As survivor: I usually laugh (extinct) until I see that matchmaking didn't do it's job on the endgame match results.
It's always sad to see a brown rank killer DC'ing against a bunch of red survivors because they probably just bought the game/tried killer & won't ever try again for a long time because of the bad experience.
Even if the killer is a high rank, unless they were being toxic, I still feel bad because it feels awful when nothing goes your way an entire match.
As killer: If somebody DC's & I know I was playing fair I usually don't feel bad & just let the other survivors farm unless I've been having really bad killer games & needed to pip.
I just hope that whoever DC's (on either side) just uses that time to get in a better headspace rather than queue up for another match because I've definitely been there before.

Once. I was playing a very rare survivor match for once ant the killer didn’t even hit anyone before three gens popped and didn’t get any hooks

there was a match where I played as nurse in “the game” the first survivor I found got down, and insta DC. It hasn’t even been 2 minutes in game yet.
I don’t feel bad for that DC survivor, but I feel pity for her teammates. In the end I let them all go, no reason to play a 1v3 match.

depends
is the dc a survivor? enjoy your suspension.
Is the DC killer? did the killer play well and got punished by the balance or is it a "this game is not going the way i want" dc. If its the former then yes.

I don't feel bad if someone d'cs within 5 seconds of the match starting. Aside from that, yes, I do feel bad for people that d/c.

Any DC on Midwich I perfectly understand, and apologize on BHVR's behalf for
0 -
Yes I feel bad for myself because my useless team mate made it a 3v1 at 4/5 gens, making it harder on the rest on the team.
0 -
Why? Midwich is a nice map.
1 -
Nope not an ounce of sorrow,I guess you can't play good enough for everyone, and why does this effect you're pips ?they DC'd some swfs use this method to depip you.

It is.
