So, the UI is staying the same for live servers
It's funny how the UI already got so much negative backlash even before the PTB was live, they decided to keep it up for live servers, like why?

No one is forcing them to release it and yet they still are. I legitimately dont understand why its still coming

Yep, big disappointment.
I made a thread here:
And one statement was that they dont ignore constructive criticism. And yet, they are ignoring it.
15 -
They know better than the 99.99% of players that can’t stand it.
nice job bhvr. What a clown show you guys have

The total counter hook widget for killer is also staying. Devs have confirmed on the stream it was to prevent tunneling.
0 -
Which totally makes sense tbh. We all know that Killers love to tunnel. Now to do this, they have to use 3 braincells instead of 1 braincell.
0 -
BHVR be like: Time to nerf memory so killers don't tunnel
5 -
Bro, we are all children incapable of counting hook states. Like none of us knew how to tunnel before the hook counter so if they don’t add it we can’t possibly use an abacus, a chalkboard, clicker, calculator, crayons and paper, or our effing brain to know who’s on. 1,2, death hook.
these devs have got to be the most clueless bunch I’ve encountered on any game.
guys, theUI SUCKS

Tbh if they would just move the survivor portraits back to bottom left and move the killer hook counter out of the way so it's not obstructing your fov, it'd be perfectly fine. Really disappointed to hear that it's going live without changes despite massive amounts of feedback on placement being too spread out.

You didn’t read what they said they said they wanted to keep it to get more feedback from Xbox and PS4 users then change it.
0 -
Lol we can see it on steams. It’s a lame ass excuse to push it live.
7 -
PTBs kinda pointless if they dont listen to feedback from the community.
11 -
No it’s not not every player is a die hard fan of the game not every player is a veteran there are people who have to wait for this stuff who don’t follow BHVR and when they get the change then they give feedback. Also they literally said they will change the UI after it’s been released

Thing is, you dont need to play with the new UI to see that it is not good. You dont even need to play the game or understand ANYTHING from DBD to see that the UI is too spread out.
Also, the Portraits are quite nice, but they dont make sense if multiple Survivors use the same character. If there are 4 Steves, I will not have any value out of those portraits. If two Survivors are slugged, same here.

Kinda like how blights POV would be fixed, or sounds would be fixed, or blights sliding, or console optimization, or matchmaking, I mean how many should I add to get the point across....
bhvr has proven hundreds of times that once something is in the game they literally take years to fix/update things.
please stop white knighting for bhvr when such a vast vast majority of the community can take 3-4 seconds to see all the things wrong with the new UI.

Today's a good day. Hearing about DS and OoO changes makes the UI a lot easier to swallow.

I’m not white Knighting anything first of all calm down I know everyone is upset about the UI and I hate the new UI to but they literally said they will change the UI. Also I haven’t experienced any sound bugs at all, blights POV is getting changed we got our colorblind setting dude people are just so negative these days

How the hell does this correlate to tunneling in any way. Do they seriously think that people who hard tunnel do so because they don't have a hook widget to tell them otherwise.
I need to go watch the stream so that I can hear it direcly as that sounds extemely oblivious of them. Not that it would be a suprise lately.

Yea they've already stated that regardless of how much negative feedback it gets/how many people dislike it, its still coming. They simply do not care, they do not listen. Until another game comes along as competition, they will continue with this mindset.
4 -
This is yet another example of how stupid their decisions are.
The feedback is not going to magically change solely because of a different platform, it's going to be pretty much the same.
Thinking they know what's best when the majority of the community does not want this then pushing it live anyway is completely asinine.
Their incompetence just keeps getting worse and worse every year.

Personally like the UI change 🤷♂️

Yeah, but the total hook counter is just wasted space and unnecessary information ingame. A killer doesn't progress lineary. Your first survivor can suicide on the first hook, or you on the ninth. It rather belongs to the tally screen as a nice statistic.

I mean, for me, I dont need it at all. I keep track of all this stuff already, it is not that complicated IMO. I will gladly take the old UI without any new features, if this will ever be an option.
However, what the Devs had in mind was to give the Killer something positive to look at. The only number the Killer sees is Gens being done - the Hook Counter, even when it is vague, is an increasing number if the Killer is doing well.

What about the animations? I don't like the new UI either, but I dislike the animations even more.
0 -
How? Does the hook widget jump out and shield tunneled Survivors?

Big brain moment

Yeah, but It can also quite disencouraging, when you have a slow start with faster early gens. Even thouh that's not always the end, when you snowball later. I think putting it into as a part into a tally screen in some form of statistic would probably do the same and better, because most of the time it matters how player feal when the game is over than midgame.

They explained by clearly showing which survivor has been hooked how many times, it might encourage people to tunnel.
Since you'd be flat out shown that Dwight over there is on death hook, so when you run into Dwight being healed by Claudette, you might decide to go after the Dwight over the Claudette, etc.
I think it's a lame reason personally (People who want to tunnel will still tunnel) but I understand the reasoning. I do think there should be more encouragement to hook survivors and not just tunnel/camp everyone to death. The widget was designed to try and encourage the mindset that it's total hooks that matter. (Which is somewhat true. You can sometimes pip from matches where you hooked everyone twice and everyone escaped. You can also depip if you camp everyone to death on first hook and the last survivor escapes.)

True, even tho, this is something that should be general understanding of players who play Killer - the game will progress fast at the start and drastically slow down the better the Killer plays, since the longer the game lasts, the more shifts it into the direction of the Killer.
And I feel that this cannot really be solved with any ingame-notification.

Do I have to actually follow through on using pencil and paper while playing to demonstrate how easy it is to keep track anyways?
0 -
Wait, are they not even changing the position of some of the stuff on the screen so that we can actually SEE it?
WHY?
People literally did their job for them and showed them how it SHOULD look.

I haven't played with the new UI yet. so I can't judge it. I agree that their excuse for preventing tunneling doesn't matter because it already happens. I like the idea of a hook counter so that I'm not risking my ass for someone who's already dead.
However saying 99% of people hate the new UI is just ignorant. The amount of people that are on these forums and played the PTB are much smaller then the amount of people who actually play the game.
Sadly a Vocal Minority is just that, the minority, most of the time you don't get what you want just by yelling about it. That is what this topic sounds like,
"I hate it but they're still going to do it."
"these Devs are Dumb and a Joke"
If it bothers you that much, don't play the game anymore.

These developers and keeping something the same or not changing something despite overwhelming backlash, name a more iconic duo.
I will straight up not even play this game due to that mobile, vomited everywhere UI, and I've never not played this game due to something like that outside of when my queues took 10-15 mins as a killer.

The majority of the playerbase probably has no idea this new UI even exists yet. Thousands of people will go absolutely apeshit once they boot this up. I predict it will be reverted or altered.. hopefully forgotten about, similar to the xray auras.
I think they're proceeding with this to not hurt the designer's feelings. Crazy. What QoL improvements are planned to justify making everyone play a watered down UI that only like 7 people like??
Most killers don't tunnel because they're confused btw.. (lol) They tunnel because they really, really want that person out of the game.
2 -
I figured they were just going to push out the new UI, hoped they wouldn't but figured they would. It's unfortunate they're just pushing it out even though majority of players hate it and there were multiple posts from players saying it gave the head aches or motion sickness to point they had to stop playing. UI isn't like playing a new character or trying perks, you can see it's bad from watching streams. Pushing it out is just their way of forcing players to get used to it to avoid having to make any changes like not having it spread out all over the screen.
1 -
Sorry, but I don't trust these devs when they say something like that. I think it's an excuse to let everyone get used to it and then just not change it at all. Or maybe one small thing at the most.

Well look who’s laughing now Blights POV is getting changed next chapter.
0 -
that’s great. Not sure why you would feel the need to laugh. You forgot to address the othe 259 things that have been waiting to get fixed for more than a year. Nice try though.

As much as I was disappointed by them ignoring it, keep in mind that they did reach out for our feedback and let us see their work in progress for object of obsession. It is a start, and things will probably get better if they see that letting us "in the know" of what they were doing to something in the game if they see mostly positive feedback. Again, I am not saying that BHVR still sucks, I am saying we should be a little more patient. The fact that they did this proves that they are currently trying to be better which is HUGE news for this game.

a way to be dead is coming out with some interesting mechanics, so they are probably trying to get dbd ready to be competitive between that and the evil dead game coming later in the year, competition is already making dbd a better experience and those other games aren't even out yet. showing how healthy competition is.
0 -
Really? Ok then name those 259 problems that need to be fixed in dbd. Go ahead tell me since your always right go head tell me.

There’s countless threads you can read here in these very forums that you can read regarding them. You already know the issues, but you just want to be an ######### for the sake of smelling your own #########.

Woah woah relax man

its Better to get you to write your highly ignorant takes dealing with the state of the game.
little kids like you do these things.
1 you make stupid as all hell statements on things you are very ignorant about
2 people calv you out on your $#!%
3 you go to the default sheep response “whoa man calm down”
id suggest you go watch your favorite streamer so they can provide you with what to say next.

I think it’s the other way around 😁👍
