New DS Talk

I agree DS needed changing as it was easy to abuse in it's current state, however I do see some potential issues with the new way it will be implemented. In my eyes it seems that the new version of DS would only be able to be used if the killer tunnels instantly from being unhooked (so pretty much they were camping), but that's not the case nowadays killers proximity camp so you may get unhooked run a few seconds then begin healing and all of a sudden you hear the heartbeat and now your in a chase again but have no defense to the tunnel.

I have two thoughts on the proposed changes that I think would still be a nerf to DS but still make it worth using as a survivor.

1. Keep what they've proposed however make it so DS deactivates when you are fully healed not once you begin healing.

2. Make it that DS deactivates when you do one of these activities when in the killers radius

If anyone wants to discuss their thoughts on the matter lemme know.

    It wasnt really clarified but i think by "healing" it means your healing others and maybe selfcare. I don't think it includes others healing you or at least it shouldn't.

    idk i feel like outside the terror radius would be bad because the whole point is that if your progressing the game your not being tunneled so it deactivates.

    I run DS every game. Im not camped or tunneled the vast majority of games. Making DS a real Anti tunnel perk would be like how they make killer perks. Mad grit for example is made only to counter body blockers that you don't know will be in the game until after it starts. So like most perks, no one uses it.

    That is terrible game design and shouldn't be the mentality that they bring over to also designing survivor perks. DS is a second chance, for 60 seconds the killer can't really do #########, this "nerf" just takes away some of that power by not allowing you to be productive and invincible. Sadly with what we have now i think its probably going to be worth tunneling even more. Because thats how you counter DS, you get rid of it early. Now that survivors will be forced to save it though they will find themselves invincible even more often. 1 minute, you get unhooked and the gate is open you do the math

    Pretty much what Rocket said we need more info on the healing part off it as that is the only real part that needs to be cleared up, is it soon as you start or once your fully healed apart from that it looks good it will do what it needs to do be a anti tunnel perk.

    Yeah my hope is that it doesn't affect others healing you but guess we can just wait and see. Yeah the terror radius was a reach by me it just popped in my head so thought to write it.

    Yeah that's a valid point survivors who would continue to use DS will more likely be forced to use it in endgame than during the match as there isn't much to do besides run for the exit. I wonder how much it would affect the escape rate given it would turn more into a late game perk than an early game perk.

    Yeah I agree hopefully they go into more detail in regards to it sooner than later. Also I'd like to know if totem cleansing is when it begins or after cleansing

    So basically you don't want the perk to change at all, 59 sec DS still a thing, actual anti tunnel still a thing, being invincible for a minute while progressing the game, worse, but still a thing.

    This isn't a valid concern. If you really don't want to be tunneled, don't start objectives or healing yourself until you know you're in the clear. Situational awareness is a skill and I don't think DS should be used as a crutch for people who don't have that skill.

    What you mean I stated that you run off thinking you are clear go to start healing and then you hear the heartbeat cause the killers come back and now you aren't healed/lost DS. This is why I'm curious whether it's when you fully heal or does it affect others healing you cause they are the only perceived issues I see with the change.

    I agree, deactivating off of others healing you could be a problem.
