8 vs 2 Game Mode
Just wondering if people would like the idea of a 8 survivors vs 2 Hunters mode. It would sound chaotic but instead of 5 gens you would need to do 10. Plus the mode would only be available at certain times of the day or make it a once a week event. I think that would freshen up the game tremendously. Thoughts?

I'm going to assume that the foundation that Dbd is on can't really support 8v2 matches, let alone the amount of work it'll take to make all the interactions work.

Possibly. But eventually they are going to have to do something fresh. They can’t just keep adding characters and that’s it.

Personally, I would make it an 8v2 where the Killers are trying to compete for kill score while the Survivors are simply trying to get out.

They will have to completely change the maps. All of the current loops would break and be in favor of the killers since they can both approach you from opposite ends.
Then you have to think about how one killer will camp while the other hunts.

I don’t see how the survivors stand a chance since you can’t loop two killers. Without looping, it’s gg in about 5 minutes.

I like the idea but balance would be super awful.

Only if the maps are four times as big and there should be 16 gens total. Not interested in playing something like Wrecker's Yard with two killers and not gonna play 3-gen strategies with two killers.

I'd love to try it, but I don't think the devs are interested in adding any other game modes. They always say no every time it comes up in a Q&A.

What they could do is have two special maps just for this mode. Not used outside of it. Which would make the mode even more special.

Maybe in DBD 2 lol

I don't think they'll ever make a true DBD 2. They'll totally make more DBD's but they'll be different games in the same universe.

I don't see a 2 vs 8 mode working as is. Mainly because of the doors. Both killers just take one door and the survivors will never get out without key/hatch.
I do however think a 6 vs 1 vs 1 could work. BUT some things MUST be different. IMO, no generators. It works for 4 vs 1...not this. Instead it should be something else. I would suggest that the Pustula Pods (or whatever they are called) take their place. Survivors would be gathering nectar from the pods and deliver what is collected to one of 3 spots around the map. After a pod is used up, it will shrivel up, vanish, then respawn somewhere else. The more Nectar a survivor collects before delivering it, the bigger the blood point bonus they get upon delivery. However, if a killer hooks/kills the survivor, they lose everything they did not deliver. Don't worry...cause death is not an end. A dead survivor will respawn somewhere else. This is required for the killer's objective. The killer's objective is simple, get more survivors hooked than the other killer. (Perhaps hooks will respawn in this game mode after 2 minutes?) How does the game end? well, after 3 - 5 minutes end game collapse will auto start, but at a much slower pace. Both doors will also open on their own at this point. Survivors then have to decide whether to get out now or risk it for more reward.
I didn't put much thought into this and it is just an idea for a concept. Definitely needs work. But I do think something similar to this would work in some way. But...would the devs put time and energy into making it happen? ...probably not. If it were to happen, a game mode like this or 8 v 2 should only occur for special events. Possibly between tomes? Also.....we need more people playing killer. Any additional game mode won't ever happen unless more killer players can be drawn to the game.

Current DBD barely manages to work with 4v1, I think we are going to have to wait for an 8v2.

That sounds interesting. I’d be up for that

Check the rules for "duo hunters" of " Identity V".
Duo killer could definitely work. Bexause it works in a "chinese ripoff" ( dbd mobile uses their skillcheck-UI lol)
Also: 2 killers on a surv leaves 7 free to do generators.

Yup, I've vouched for this idea before & will proudly do it again because it would actually make DBD fun again in terms of "diversity". I would personally make this a limited time gamemode (either certain days of the week or certain events).
Another idea for a gamemode is literally Hide & Seek. Survivors all have the exposed status effect, can only play the original survivors & have to survive 5 minutes of stealth to win. Of course this can be tweaked.

I think a duo killer Q would be great. DBD clearly can handle it on a technical level considering there was a bug for a long time that both allowed 10 survivor matches REALLY early in the game's history (which were fun as hell even as a solo killer, you just go into this insane downing frenzy) and the duo killer bug more recently.
Identity V has a lot of mechanics changes to make duo killer work. I think DBD could do similar, and have a very limited altered map pool for duo killer.
I think the biggest thing is that it probably should be 12 v 2, the survivors can't Q as a 12 stack, and you want to sorta balance the mode as a very fast paced one so that elimination isn't as big a deal: It should low key be impossible to wipe the survivors, and more of a 'party' mode.
That or you could do something as simple as 'Killers have limited parts of the map where they can both be active' or 'limited windows where they can both participate in the same chase at the same time' so they can cooperate but it isn't like the killers just tag team you the entire game: If you can only both be 'corporeal' within 20 meters of each other for 1 minute every 5, your not going to be constantly just duo-downing survivors ignoring loops. So your trying to run survivors into each other, or using your powers to 'remotely' help, like having Legion injure everyone before nurse cleans up, or Trapper getting things set up while the other killer actually pressures.
I think DBD really should have this mode because killer play being inherently anti-social is bad for the community, and having a mode where a 4 stack only makes up 50% or 33% of the survivors is neat, but any speculation on it is sorta... pie in the sky thinking in the end, because the specifics of such a mode are completely up in the air. I also wouldn't be shocked if at least one license holder said something to the effect of 'You can't have our character on screen at the same time as any other killer.'

I don't think it'll work and just like @Huge_Bush said one will camp while the other one chases which is bad

Honestly that’s where I got the idea. Use to play that alot lol
