NO OPEN-HANDED BUFF?!
I was extremely excited to see 16 meters Open-Handed on live version of the game. I was wondering how Windows of Opportunity or Bond would look like paired with this perk.
The patch notes don't mention anything related to Open-Handed.
I am upset.

It's already been confirmed that the Open-Handed buff is not releasing with this update.

The Kindred's aura-reading range for Killer is already capped at 24 meters on a programming level.

I wish they at least gave us feedback that it wasn't going live, since they announced it and then said nothing officially. I'm extremely upset. Wasn't already so in the mood for playing the game, and now I'm taking a break for a while, since I feel disrespected.

I think there would've been a problem with the planned update anyhow. Wasn't it going to give a 16m boost to the whole team's aura-reading (not stackable)? Then what would happen if more than one person equipped Open-Handed? Some of the perk slots would be wasted.

The actual answer isn't anywhere near as shocking: It was originally planned for this mid-chapter, but due to time constraints, we weren't able to get it in on time. It's not cancelled or anything, though, we're hoping to squeeze it into a future update when we're able to.

So in a "later update" means, maybe in 3-6 months. Thank you for nothing and just changing things nobody asked for. The only good thing is the hook counter.

imo, the patch in general is great.
HUDs are gorgeous, some perks are stronger, undying is nerfed, clown is no longer the worst killer.
I was just very anticipating the Open-Handed.

Open-Handed buff was one of the most happy things I was waiting for this patch... well, nevermind then.

You didn't have the time to change a number from 8 to 16 and make it not stack?

I guess it was more complicated to add aura-reading bonus cap so Survivors would not be able to get +64 meters bonus by stacking.

I mean, considering they are essentially recoding the game piece by piece right now, yes, I imagine it would be that hard without breaking another part of the game.

Exactly my point. It's better to wait a tiny bit and confirm everything works as expected. Altho, knowing the mess of a code DBD has become, I am fairly certain that the Open Handed change somehow affects Oni's power again.

Just look at the latest update. For killer, EGC is bugged and suddenly reveals the aura of every generator instead removing the generator auras. Clearly the coding for the aura mechanic is more complicated than we understand.

Kindred can't be increased past 24m if my memory serves me correctly, so I don't see the big deal if people stack Opened Handed. 😅
