I love the new survivor animations!
Now survivors don't run sideways and slide their heads against every surface, way more realistic movement from the previous!

i didn't like the previous, with the infinite limping like you sat on a stick? the perma crouched stance that looked like everyone was hunchback? no thanks! These are much better!

Good. 360 is pointless anyway.
8 -
360's were ASS good riddance or at least made it harder to do
4 -
I miss spinning while in dying state.
9 -
I literally did it earlier... you might just be doing it wrong

Agree, I totally like the new ones where the survivors stand comfortably upright like they were meeting up in a nice bar to have some Martinis.
9 -
Nope, I think you either don't know what he's talking about or your being patronizing for the sake of being patronizing. You also can't make the character model look up or down anymore while moving. GIVE ME MY MEMES BACK.
4 -
unless there's a glitch where you spin at mach 100 or something like that... which indeed I don't know about...
I'm pretty sure they are just talking about spinning on the ground without moving. which I did earlier today.
didn't notice the look up and down thing...

I guarantee you that you can not spin on the ground anymore. The spamming WASD thing. You can do it veeeeery slowly and (granted) more realistically but... my memes dude.

and.. now you will see , your killer xD something like motto for the last update? or do you have some other? Maybe: you can test our new movement with the hit, because you will get the hit for sure, we know xDDD stop joking, more seriously, ..hmm.. when the next update? xDDD

I agree. I honestly think the complaints regarding survivor animation are overblown. It's not *that* bad. Literally saw someone say it's bad enough to get an animator fired, I mean excuse me?? Guarantee that if the survivor animations were always like this, no one would say anything
The UI though......yikes

It was kinda pointless but the movement feels clunkier now. Believe me the new animations are a lot better but I’d rather have smooth movement

The injured animation is the only one I don't like at all. it's quite terrible.
I don't love the job they did on any of the animations but honestly, they are fine. I would even say I kinda like the standing. I do like the crawling/getting up
1 -
dude they aren't that bad? it has nothing to do with hits lol, i played a few rounds and hits seem fine to me, no pallet stun hits, no teleporting from survivors who go down in a different spot. Pretty solid, i really don't see who would want the old animations back

Im not sure, dude. Just one thing, why do you think we are here and speaking about it ?

anything can be more cinematic, but the newer animations flow with how new gen games animations should be, more fluent and stuff. Even these could be improved but it's definitely better

I'm honestly just sad that they patched out all the memes. Moonwalking is still possible but it looks wonky, nodding and tilting your head happens at light speed, you can't spin on the ground anymore, you cant use any sign language on the ground anymore, tbagging feels unsatisfying, you can't teabag during the camera spin at the beginning of the match anymore... I care much more about the animations than I do the ######### UI. And they're gone. :c

Agreed, I do find it in a better direction. I still find them to be lackluster and off... but I welcome them honestly.

I envisioned more cinematic type of animations like you saw in The last of us 1 or 2. handed they did Motion cap. A lot more detail would just add flavor. More expressions, general animations when crouched or hiding behind a wall. You can get creative

I’m sorry... did you say way more realistic? I’m pretty sure humans don’t move in the way the new animations show them.
The new running and walking animations look and feel clunky.
1 -
The new animations are awful. And it’s not only a matter of how they look, It doesn’t FEEL good to play survivor. It feels clunky and, frankly, awkward.
I will elaborate more:
Dying state looks fine but you can’t spin anymore. Not good. It takes away a little piece of this game’s unique identity.
The new animation you get when going down with a hit is cool and actually a nice change.
Crouch walking is fine to me.
Walking is... kind of the same, but looks more generic than before. Like, until yesterday, I would recognize a Meg walking everywhere at any moment even if you removed all of her textures and made her walk on a blank screen. Now I’d say it’s a character walking in a videogame, without knowing it’s from DbD.
Running feels clunkier than before, in a worse way than I am capable to describe.
When you are standing still, it just doesn’t fit the horror theme and it looks like you’re waiting something in front of a desk in a store.
Running while injured, this is where the disaster happened. Honestly I don’t see how anyone can like it. It looks like two gens of games ago.
Overall this looks like a fake game pretending to be DbD.
I do respect your opinion, OP, personal taste is a thing. But the playerbase as an entity (lol) doesn’t look happy right now. And, personally, I am not going to play the game anymore. I assume many other veterans will do the same.

Yeah, everyone looks like they had a wedgie.
Really awesome animations there.
2 -
I too love them. The crawling hatch escape will never get old to me lmao!
To you who dislike the new, do you remember how terribly rigid and strange old animations were? Like be honest to yourself. Standing and being injured and crawling especially. It felt like playing a quickly made browser game to me at least. Now they just feel more proper and they did a pretty good job with how your physical movement on map wasn't changed.
I think people are just still used to old and don't see how terrible they always were or they're afraid of having own opinions so they like to jump on the hate train.

I honestly remember falling in love and keep playing the game I stopped playing today because of how much I loved the unique animations.

You are 100% correct. They look nice which is great but they feel very janky. They are no longer fluid and smooth. Clunky.
0 -
I don’t think anyone is complaining on how they look it’s more of the feel. It feels janky and clunky now. It’s nowhere near as smooth as it was before. That’s the issue. They look great but don’t feel that way.

I don't like the old myself because everything just jumps from one animation to another with simple linear interpolation. Also running while a d tapping used to be so sharp and looks unnatural how you shake from side to side super fast but... well now it's slightly smoother also the fast head movement allows me to nod and doesn't look so cursed or turtleish now. I hope they can soon tackle the crouch tapping issue though.

Dying: Like
Standing: Like
Getting hit: Like alot
Crouch walking/teabag: Fine
Injured!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!? #########

Just be care going for the reflexive 360 since somebody posted about it being gimped on the ptb. Don't wanna experience a tragedy too soon.
0 -
Oh no. I have to agree 360's were pointless anyway. the fact that people need them to survive is kind of sad. I understand that it's something that people used to escape being hit right in front of a killer but not being able to do it isn't going to change the game that much. the one thing that annoys me is the broken hitboxes.
If you can't 360 the killer is going to hit you like they should have in the first place.
0 -
that's some serious coding but i agree i'd like more unique details
0 -
The survivor animations also changed gameplay though. The model isnt alligned or something because the hitbox seems off. You get stuck on random crap for no reason a lot more and on top of that the camera was changed too during crouching and being downed.
As for firing animators yes thats stupid.

i don't think it effects hits at all for me, it feels the same
