The devs are too proud to revert these awful changes

When I say that they're too proud, I don't mean that they're happy with what they released (though they might be). I mean they would never come out and say that the changes are bad. I've not seen a single post saying that the changes are completely good and flawless, so I think it's safe to say that the majority of us dislike these changes.

First of all- the bars. I struggle to see and the bars are very unclear. Also with the old bars they used to flash red if a downed survivor was being healed or if a survivor was being carried- a subtle thing but very helpful. The bars don't flash red anymore. Overall the new HUD is just way too small and too unclear.

The animations too... I played against a Deathslinger yesterday and was looping and I knew he'd try to shoot over the loop, I tried to bait it and run back but because of how long it takes to actually turn around and pick up speed, I ended up getting shot.

But like I said... the devs are too proud and they never listen to feedback, nor do they hardly even play their own game. Don't expect these changes to be reverted because the devs will never admit that they f'd up.

On a happier note I really like the Crotus Prenn Asylum and The Game map changes (visually, not to play in).

It’s not unanimous. Not everyone is unhappy. I so far love every new change, including the HUD. Others also like it.

For starters, you can tell what survivor each player is playing. To add on, you have a tally counter for each survivor and a total hook counter for the killer.

More of the screen is freed up as well, so all in all, it's not all bad. Not to say improvements can't be made, but it's not as bad as the community makes it to be. 😅

actually less of the screen is freed up and more importantly, less important screenspace is visible.

You can tell what survivor each player is playing by....oh idk paying attention in the lobby? like we have always done?

Not to mention that if the survivor is playing some radically different (legendary) skin they wont even look like that.

Honestly it seems like once again something purely made for new players, as most of this HUD seems to be about, but I think they will be more then anything confused when they expect a Meg looking like a Meg and that Meg player has the super red hair equiped, or David with the Top Hat, I think it would cause more confusion then anything else with new players.

I can agree with it wasn't all necessary, but the developers are trying to modernized the game and make it look more appealing. If they didn't break the game with the new HUD, what's the big deal?

I like the new HUD feature for the most part. Do I have my compliants? Yes, there are some things I dislike about it, but I like how they are trying to make the game look better and I can't be the only one who's in favor of the new HUD. 😊

I hope they keep the idea, but make it more enjoyable for everyone. 😁

Yeah, having survivor portraits and then gen counter in 2 different places is annoying. Could have easily left that in the corner by your power. Now my eyeballs are roving all over to find simple info.

Total hook tally for killer is USELESS. Serves no purpose whatsoever.

Adding on to this (which I 100% believe the higher ups are responsible for a lot of the decisions made. Not all of them, but a lot.)

They spent money and resources on the new HUD and movement. I'm not saying I like them, they look terrible, but BHVR is at a loss here no matter what they do.

Revert the changes, they just wasted time and resources.

Keep the changes, face constant complaining and battering.

This whole situation is a lose-lose for BHVR, (probably) spurred on by the people above the Devs.

    So

im going to be honest my biggest bug bare with this game is camping/tunneling I came away from this game for almost a year because I was sick of it

I came back to see the new changes and stuff and I feel tunneling has just gotten worse because of the hook counter it’s an absolute joke tunneling and camping is on another level especially being jack down at rank 20 it’s an absolute joke I really used to be in love with this game but I don’t know if I can play it anymore

Firstly, you could tell who plays who in pre-lobby or just by pressing ESC in the beginning of the match. It is not like they discovered a new continent with putting ugly profile pics to hud. I saw many versions here on feedbacks done in a very aesthetic elegant way than what they did here.

Other thing is hook counter. It could have been easily added without completely changing the fabric of the game.

Also about modernizing.. I think making graphics, fonts, stances, animation like any common game in the market is a bad strategy, since they already had an unique and characterized atmosphere in game.

Non of the changes you liked are justified, non of them were essential and they could been implemented in very different, more efficient ways. If anything they reduced the information you got from survivor icons and bars.

The changes are rushed, not well-thought, poorly executed and unnecessary. No reason to defend them here.

If you read the discussion he started yesterday, you’d understand. It’s as if he’s desperately trying to become a fog whisperer or something. I’ve never seen someone try so hard to catch the attention of the devs through sheer flattery. There’s absolutely no shame in his game.

Too proud of what? They made a steaming pile of sh*t, if anything they should be disgusted with how little they know about coding.

If Devs are so proud maybe we should let them play in house... As soon as I quitted the game I changed my recommendation on steam. I bought the game twice, so I have two votes. Normally steam community hub would be 55-60k at these tome premieres, 5minutes ago there was 45k. I believe that if numbers go south more, they will have time to think what was wrong...

It's hard to look at on a 65" tv for extended periods of time. The survivors also move like robot people with bird legs who ordered grande fajita nachos at lunch.

Agreed that they are updating visually in a way that they are losing their uniqueness with not only visuals but atmosphere. Great point.

I just checked steam and they have almost 50k players in-game. Clearly everyone is as happy as a clam, and we are outcasts.

One of the worst things we do to ourselves here is thinking we have a voice and the feedback we provide can change anything. Devs will continue to do what they think is right, and clearly not enough people care to make a difference. I've seen some games take a step back when they are forced to see negative comments on steam or other platforms. I don't think it will happen here.

"Others" this sounds like something written by someone working at behavior. I'm sorry but if 50+ of your top streamers, content creators, fog whisperers say this is absolutely garbage. Then guess what. It's garbage. These devs make the game but don't play near as much as these streamers that actually know more about what is best. You have people playing 10-12 hrs a day. Devs probably work a normal 8 and then when they get home the last thing they wanna do is see anything related to DbD.

And they look so silly when they move. Especially from the killer perspective.

Pretty much, since they like the changes, it doesn’t matter to them whether we like it or not. I can’t speak for everyone, but the devs have a long route to take if they want to earn my trust back.

That dont mean much. It just means again, only game of its type and that people will put up with bad changes. It dont mean people like it lol. Ik several people on multiple platforms that dont like it but played. Here isnt any different than elsewhere except that on a forum you will get a more detailed response.

Have you given up? It's raw!! If Gordon Ramsay played DBD he would be so angry about the low standards these people have. A bunch of angry players here and on youtube they won't care that much about it so this will happen again and again and again.

It's not pride, it's that they put a lot of money and effort into it, and it's difficult for anybody to let that effort go down the drain.

People really have no appreciation for the devs and how difficult it is to maintain a game, and then get so self-righteous about blaming them for sin x, y, and z. The devs are just as human as all of us and have to deal with the same problems as all of us. Getting vitriolic over well-intentioned changes and attacking their intentions is a completely useless assertion, and if that's really how one will contribute to the community, they ought to leave.
