Rank 34 of the rift, free track, has Billy's Default pants... No joke, not even a recolor.
The free track is worthless anyway, why not give them something they already have when they... oh i don't know... own the game?

The devs seem so against adding auric cells in the free track, there's a lot of empty spots in the free track doesn't hurt to add something like that. That's what Fortnite does with their battle passes, and have been doing continuously as well. Or you know maybe just add about a few shards if you don't want to do auric cells. Also I remember correctly that once they added the redeem code function last year into the store, auric cells were mentioned to be given with codes. It's been like seven to eight months, and still haven't see auric cell codes. Makes me think they lied about it to no surprise.

I miss when we needed to grind the event for new cosmetics, devs a getting more and more greedy with each rift

This is actually pretty common for BHVR, look at Jeff or Adam, They have several cosmetics that are almost identical to each other. If I remember correctly Elodie has three pairs of blue pants. The Trapper has several gator waders that are so dark you can't tell the difference between them in-game. Also, The Wraith has an outfit that makes his brown cloak and bandages... Brown, again.

There's clearly no internal QA. We are the QA in the PTB and we know how that one turned out.

I think it's because they directly ported the model from the mobile version (and touched it up a bit). I'm sure the original model had his default pants and they just either forgot to change it or didn't care lol

The only recolours are, in fact, the recolours (Nea cosmetics, and the chill cosmetics stolen from DBD mobile (dwight trapper claud billy and ne more i cant remember). Everything else has been made from scratch! I don't see any of the other new outfits models elsewhere

The least they could do imo is make recoloured purple skins like what plague got awhile ago. Those are a bit better

You know what, I'd be fine with having Bloodpoints or Shards in the empty spots of the free track. Cells seems unlikely but the other two should absolutely be done.

We are free QA volunteers who give them load of precious feedback... which they don't listen to.
To expect them to actually pay money to hire actual professional playtesters is a bit too much.

At least the item description isn't the same as the default pants. I guess you can look at it while in the lobby.

I dont look at the prizes frequently. So Every time... every single time I level up, It said I unlocked something and I'm like (Zelda Chest theme) then I open it up and (fart sound) it's a blank box. Might aswell be a troll face 🤣 it feels like Filthy Frank "You just got pranked"

This i sadly nothing new. There's a lot, and I mean A LOT of "skins" that have the EXACT same look than the base one, mostly because they are part of a set, and set NEED to be 3 parts. So the devs just slapped the base skin in there and ask for money for it.
