If you don't enjoy a video game

Breaks on DBD are something we all have done, the last break I took was a week after the Twins chapter dropped because of how bug infested and how much of a letdown that chapter was.

It's also okay to trash a video game on the internet.

    Part of the fun.

It is your second try to give advise to frustrated players.

    What about that:

I DO NOT play DBD anymore. Is it that what you want? To go away without complaining? I think, many people will do right that. They see the changes and turn the game off. They have a look a few days later, and if nothing changed, they play a different game. Some or more will not come back. Without moaning here in the forum they are lost for the game. But hey - they didn't whine here.

If I stopped doing things I hated, I'm not sure I'd do anything :D

Looking at you golf...and the gym...and my job...and DBD...and watching The Minnesota, well, everything but specifically The Vikings...

    :P

The point is, if you don't complain about certain mechanics, the devs think everything is fine. But these devs, know for months that things aren'T fine and do nothing against it (or it takes them months). Then they change things, that nobody wanted and were totally fine. I don't know what they are thinking. I really want to know their thougth process.

If only we could read their minds of sort, they probably are currently thinking about giving Freddy an overheat mechanic.

The last time I took a break from dbd was during the Halloween event because of how falsely lead I was to believe that I wasn't going to be doing same ol same ol and then got same ol same ol and they put too much emphasis on the archives for the event. (I don't mind putting event related stuff in the archives but make it something extra on top of the event instead of the entire event being the archives)

People have the right to call out morally reprehensible or unethical behavior, though. It's pretty sad when the people who hate the game play it anyway, showing more loyalty and care for the health of the game than the devs do.

For me I wish I could take a proper break from the game but I can't. I can stop playing during the week but I'm forced to play at the weekend because of:

    • Drinking night with real life mates
    • Drinking night with main squad
    • No other online multiplayer game that me and my mates all have
    • Event and new Rift. My inner hoarder makes me want to collect everything

I wish I could stop playing the game completely and not care but unfortunately I can't.

I took a long break from DBD in March 2019 (after the Moonrise event) because I got bored of it. I wasn't a fan of the Legion and the Plague (thank god they gave them changes) and the game was just more stressful than it should have been. Decided to play it with friends again for the lulz in November, had lots of fun, and then started playing DBD a lot in 2020, and started buying dlc. I took a two month long break from DBD after the 4th anniversary event because I got hooked to other games, but, well, here I am now, lol. DBD is now my main game, it's just too fun and addicting to me. It's been improving, I love the Archives, it's an amazing addition since I'm into lore, plus BPs as a bonus.

It's really hard to quit this game tbh.

I like the Red Glyphs they added, but sadly there's nothing much else to the Red Glyphs besides doing the tome challenge for them. I like how they look, and basically look like your tearing into another dimension. Could have done more with them, if we had an ACTUAL Lunar New Year Event.

I'm stupid. At the end of the day there's so much else I should do, so what's one more game. Might as well fire it up and see if I'm vibing it.

I don't know where you live at but Stardew Valley is a great game and is not that expensive in some places and it's also DRM free if I recall correctly.

perhaps you should look into another game that you and your mates can play. but this does not mean you can not stop playing, it means you do not want to stop. something else you could do instead of playing: 1) go see a movie or two, 2) read a good book or listen to it, 3) find another game to play, 4) just about anything, your first option doesn't involve dbd why not do that?

While I understand this, it shouldnt mean that no game should receive criticism. If this game never received any constructive criticism from players who noticed broken gameplay, it wouldve never survived past its first year. Its important to bring up issues with the game without just being shouted at to go play something else if you dont like it.

I don't think the Red Glyphs have anything to do with the event. Unless I'm not understanding what you're saying.

    Does it have crossplay though?

If there wasn't a lockdown I would see a movie or have drinks lol I meant play dbd while drinking with real life mates for point 1.

Good question, and I just searched it for you.

Crossplay is not available between consoles and PC version but it is available on PC and GOG versions of the game. I am sorry, I should have researched it.

look i'm not your pleasure planner, I gave a few suggestions, if you don't want to take them then admit that you can NOT stop playing at all. I'd wager that you'd be playing even if you didn't have COVID to deal with so that's only an excuse. if you can't be honest with yourself what does that say about how you treat your mates and what not? I've found other games to play but I still OCCASIONALLY play this one. Since the new UI has come out i've played probably a total of 5 killer matches (eye strain and tension headaches because of it is a #########) and about 10 survivor matches.

Nah your grand lad lol thanks for the suggestion

Well that took a turn I wasn't expecting lol I thought you were actually going to be nice. Instead I get attacked for absolutely no reason. Sorry for texting on the same forums as you I guess?

First off trying to sayim using a pandemic as an excuse is quite disgusting. I would've went to see James Bond and Black Widow for starts if I could've. Secondly last year I had plans to go away on 3 different holidays with mates but all got cancelled. Thirdly I drive a hour nearly every Saturday to have a few drinks but again that was ruined.

Apparently I can't be honest at all when people like you exist. Gg's lad hope you have a fun day I guess 👍

  • Freki
    Freki Member Posts: 1,903

lol you can't be honest? sure you can be honest, but you weren't. your first post I replied to talked about having drinks with your mates (during the pandemic) then you replied to me with this "If there wasn't a lockdown I would see a movie or have drinks lol I meant play dbd while drinking with real life mates for point 1." So who is not being honest? and I never attacked you what so ever I just told you that 1) I was not going to plan how you should have fun as I can not, nor will not do so, 2) you seem to WANT to play a game you are upset at even when your own statement showed you have other things you COULD do, 3) I only suggested that you really want to play for what ever reason but are using the pandemic as an excuse thinking you would not do anything that was suggested (like got to a movie) yet your first post talk about having drinks with your mates.... how is that different than going to a movie? Hell if you know your mates better perhaps you know hey don't have COVID and could have drinks with them, EVEN in this pandemic!

You however jump down my throat for even trying to suggest a few ideas to help you figure it out then when I am honest about that I am attacking you, looks like I am the one not able to be honest around people like you, Quaiff? oh sorry my battletech world came into DBD! OOPS sorry.. let me rephrase so you know what I said "Looks like I am the one not able to be honest around people like you yes?" There we go... much better
