Pyramid head (the Executioner) and how to play against him
Pyramid head is not OP, he is definitely manageable and you can win against him just as any other killer. He is definitely fun to play and unique. Although many people don't know what to do when playing against him.
What people hate about him: His punishment of the dammed attack, and the effect of his cages.
His cages are an ability that lets him create a cage that acts almost exactly like a hook except for the two main things it has that a sacrificial hook doesn't. The first unique attribute that the cages have include disabling any survivor and killer perks that have to do with hooking such as pop, BBQ, and devour hope or DS, BT, and WMI. This can allow the Executioner to quickly kill survivors if the survivor team plays poorly.
His POTD attack is an 8-meter long shockwave that can go through walls and only go down elevated ground.
What should you do if someone is caged?
Now obviously, you want to save a caged survivor, but you can't just rush the save or else the Executioner will see you and go to the cage. The person in the cage is in a very precarious position because if the survivors poorly time a save, Pyramid head can easily tunnel that survivor and have a huge impact on the survivor team. You can't save as you would normally from a sacrificial hook, what you need to do is sneak over to the cage and play it stealthy. You have to make sure you save the person in the cage by playing stealthily. If you see that Pyramid head is reasonably close (24-32 meters) to the caged survivor, just wait until he is a bit further. If he tunnels the caged survivor because they were rescued in front of him, the rescuer is at fault.
How do you deal with his POTD attack?
His punishment of the dammed or ranged shockwave attack is hated by most because they are unable to loop as they would normally and they are punished when vaulting or dropping a pallet. The answer would be to drop pallets earlier and leave tiles much sooner. His POTD attack is only useful within a short range of 8 meters at base. If you try to loop him you will take hits that you would have avoided by running away. Try to break LOS and then run to another tile and repeat. Only resort to normal looping when he is too close. If you take a hit, use the speed burst you get from being injured to run. If you do this correctly the Executioner will have to break chase to pressure everyone else.
Keep in mind:
- The Executioner does disable perks like BT and DS when caging survivors, but he also limits his use of other killer perks as well.
- When stepping in his trails, he can see your location through killer instinct for 3 seconds. A lot of newer people seem to forget this.
- It is not the end of the world if you step in his trail, I see way too many survivors taking a down rather than being tormented. If you feel you need to run through his trail, then go right ahead and run through it. Taking an unnecessary hit or down because you didn't want to be tormented will be worse than actually being tormented.

Nice advice! After his nerf he is much more managble but he is still a nuisance at times.
Got any ideas for a spirit one😂

Just hope she messes up honestly and try to juke her.
Stealth whenever you can and hold m1 on gens

*shakes uncontrollably* B....but....op....no counter play......ahmaJczgHgGagag

Your advice for avoiding potd is basically to hold W. I wouldn't exactly call that counterplay. That's like calling on people to slam generators against a spirit.

What do you think his best build is since the nerf? I was doing ruin undying tinkerer discordance and still attempted a few games with it since the nerf.
It’s pretty dumpster tier now, 2 totems isn’t worth 2 perk slots.
I swapped out Undying for Pop but then ruin dies in the first 30 seconds of the game so I’m thinking of dumping it also.
Before I felt the play was use cages all the time but maybe now it’s hook, use pop, tunnel them off the hook, cage, tunnel them out of the cage, finish them.
So stridor or monitor to find them coming out of the cages easier?

You can actually dodge his POTD attack. I didn't mention it because I thought it would be obvious, but you can dodge it when it really comes down to you need to stay up for a little bit longer. Faking a pallet drop by quickly stopping can work as well, same sort of thing with windows.

Typical Pyramid Head main player

If he is a typical PH main then why is his photo of Oni?
and your response isn't whitty or smart. It's the typical survivor main that doesn't know how to play against PH and begs for nerfs. You should be thanking the OP.

I am not sure what this comment is suggesting, please be more clear.

Tinkerer is still a fantastic choice on him since he can sneak up to gens and possibly hit multiple survivors with POTD so I would keep this.
Ruin is still good but meh of course on its own, but I recommend using infectious fright instead of this. If you hear one too many survivors scream when downing a tormented survivor, then cage that survivor. If not, then just hook em.
Discordance on its own is still pretty great but was only really good because of its synergy with ruin. I would replace this perk with corrupt intervention.
Nurses calling would be decent on him since he can hit through walls and survivors wouldn't really expect it.
Honestly, ruin is still a strong perk and it can work on him, but it is a hex perk that is gone too soon (as usual). He is already more limited from killer perks like BBQ, they still work on him, but are just a bit less consistent on him. Whispers would be a nice option to put here as well.
So, a good build would be tinkerer, CI, nurses, and infectious fright. Pretty good synergy
Another one can be surveillance, whispers, dark devotion, and M&A. Also pretty good synergy.
Just know, that even though he doesn't benefit off of perks such as BBQ, he can still get value from it.

I don’t like tinkerer without pop, ruin, or a 1 shot killer. I feel it’s power is holding the same gen while clearing out a deadzone nearby. Phead doesn’t down people fast enough to pop the gen they were working on if they just hold W away after the tinkerer hit.
Im dumping ruin, the totem spawns are too trash to just be down a whole perk in the first minute of the game 1/2 the time. I’d rather have corrupt for that.
Nurses I don’t like without monitor. And I think stridor would be better for tunneling people out of cages.
I really don’t want to go into games without gen perks otherwise the games last like 5 minutes at red ranks and you are 100% relegated to hard tunneling or hitting every POTD like a machine; which isn’t possible against good survivors who actually juke.
So I’m thinking Corrupt, Pop, Monitor, Stridor / Sloppy?

What I don't like about the executioner is essentially he promotes tunneling.
I don't mind him getting some buff while losing some tunneling ability.
It's understandable that the executioner tends to do tunneling because that's the most effective way.
I even do tunneling when I play him.
But it's so boring for survivors when the killer is tunneling so hard.

I hate that someone brought this back because this is honest to god the only way you're escaping a trial vs my Pyramid Head- pre-drop a pallet and run.
And it makes for such incredibly stale gameplay on both sides.
The fun part comes from a good PH who will actually attempt to hit you through walls and succed a lot of the time. That's a battle of prediction v prediction, reflex v reflex, and skill v skill. It's incredibly fun, and a massive shame that people just don't play like that as him because that's so much fun to do!!
Alas, now that people have realised you just gotta pre-drop-and-W and this has been brought back so more people can see it, more people are just gonna W key it 😔
