DBD runs terrible after new update

I've taken some time off and just returned with the Gideon Meat Plant Map Update. I bought a new ASUS TUF Gaming A15 laptop about 3 months ago and it handled the game fine. Now it has bad lag like it doesn't handle maps well. Speedtest after first game showed 21ms ping 75 down 8 up.

Any thoughts on whether I need to make changes on my end (base settings) or is behavior just commited to making a $30 dollar game unplayable on a mid grade gaming laptop?

    Like can you provide any information ??? There’s some server issues that creep up sometime on my end but other than that FPS wise this update is the best one they ever released for me, I don’t get 60 FPS on midwife anymore it’s nothing but 130, so have you try check for corrupt file or anything else ?

    I was about to point out how laptops are often overpriced and underpowered compared to putting your own parts together for a desktop but I saw it has a 2060 so if you run dbd witht he resos lider down some or at 1080p it should be overkill.

    I checked file integrity right before I stopped playing a month ago. No reason why I couldn't do it again. The issue the I experience the most is lag. And by lag I mean the good old school kind of lag where I actually return my character to a position he was in like 1 second ago. I popped T3 with Daddy Myers and downed a jake, then lagged back 1 sec and a couple steps and jake was no longer down but instead made it to a window vault. (but was somehow injured instead of healthy?)


    I experience this way more in chase or when other survivors are near me. I don't know if that really matters or not. Definitely isn't a connection issue I live in a major city in Texas so I can't be very far from a server. I don't think my computer is underpowered for the game.


    I am at a lost for what went wrong but I do know that I now view DBD like Microsoft. I cringe and wonder what we're going to lose with every update and operating system.

    Oh yeah lag is worst then before then, 100% we gotta wait until bhvr fix it

    I play on a PC with GTX 1080 and it actually seems to run better for me than it did before the update. Skill checks are way smoother which has been nice. Unfortunately we still have the awful HUD to deal with...
