My gripe with the new “events”
I’ve been playing DbD since the Clown chapter and I remember my first event was the Summer BBQ event where you could earn a melee weapon for Hillbilly and a shirt for Kate. The next event I played was the Blight event where you had to complete a secondary objective to earn currency to put toward a Halloween event skin of your choice. I’m pretty sure the next event had the same system. This was when events were great. Now, you have to pay real money to get the event skins. At this point it’s a skin drop and a few cosmetic changes to the game. Myself and many other people would love for the old event model to make a return to the game because these past few “events” have just felt like skin drops with all of the cosmetic content behind a pay wall with no way to earn at least one skin.

Yeah, I miss those times too. I think it's funny, back then they had a smaller team and they had time to do these kind of cool events. Now they're a much bigger team and suddenly they've no longer got time to make an event where players can grind for cosmetics. Either live with getting recolors with a code or buy a skin with real money.
I'm trying to be optimistic about their statement of making Halloween and Anniversary events special again, at the cost of other events being like this. Guess we'll see in a couple of months.

The only events what are going to be events are anniversary and Halloween. It's sad, I agree, but it is what it is now sadly.

You're leaving out also how they switched to codes instead of just having it pop up on log in just to make it more tedious.

I totally forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me. I really don't like the codes to be honest

I really hope they do make the Anniversary and Halloween events better although a single cosmetic challenge for each side like they used to do would be cool for smaller events.
