An example video about the current state of killer desync hits

Despite all the complaints, I strangely haven't seen a single clip from anyone showing how ridiculous the killer desync is.

This is my first time experiencing such a hit and... wow. It needs to be fixed ASAP.

edit: renamed title from "hitbox" to "desync", according to comments

That is almost every game for me. I was playing tonight and noticed something... whenever I am within the killers terror radius my ping jumps from 50-60 to 200+... only within the terror radius. I started to notice a lag whenever the killer was around so I started checking the ping. Killer leaves and my ping drops down to normal, killer comes around and my ping spikes to over 200.

    This is because of de-sync.

All of these looked totally normal from the Killer's side.

what's the point of comments like this? i keep seeing them constantly on these posts. "it looked normal on the killers side" like you're insinuating it's not an issue then?

AGAIN, it is NOT a problem of hitbox!

It's a problem of ping and desync.

It's getting very, VERY tiresome to have to repeat the same thing EVERY GOD DAMN TIME!

STOP talking about hitbox you are just muddying the discussion.

they're literally talking about a valid issue but using the wrong terminology, it's not a big deal, you're not 1000IQ for reading a thread and now knowing the difference between d-sync and hitboxes. most people won't know. BOTH are still a problem. jesus.

Nobody is saying it isn't an issue.

I mentioned it because the comment above mine mentioned lag as a possibility.

It IS a big deal! And the simple fact that you don't seem to realize it says long on how little you understand what's going on here.

What they are saying is that the killer has a way easier time to hit them, which ISN'T TRUE!

The killer has to do the very same legit hits than before, survivors ARENT easier to hit! it's just that there's now a big delay between the moment where the killer hit the survivor and when the hit register on the survivor side.

By pretending it's a hitbox problem you are just pushing the idea that it's just a case of the killer getting a massive advantage, which will just increase the already pretty bad mood of the community.

If you can't even realize that, maybe you should just stop posting altogether.

it IS a massive advantage. survivors are being forced to play way more safe than they usually would because they can't tell when they can and cannot properly extend loops. if you can't even realize that, maybe you should just stop posting alltogether.

Amazing. Everything you just said was wrong. The killer has a LARGE advantage in hitting the survivors, because the survivors do not react properly, seeing as they're acting upon an inaccurate position of the killer. The fact that on the killer screen the survivor is within range when they're hit doesn't mean in the slightest that the hit is just as 'hard', or that it required the same amount of skillful input as if it happened at low latency. It's the very same reason why VPN'ing as killer to increase latency gives a huge advantage in this game.

Please, do not make a fool of yourself any further. You showed a complete lack of understanding about latency in online games and you have no place reprimanding others on this subject.

    KEKW!

Did you just... did you just try to insinuate that the survivor has any real mean to "react" to a killer being in range of a hit outside of a palette or deadhard?

There's a MAJOR difference between "a large hit box" and "some desync", and said desync will only matter, again, if you are standing next to a palette looking at the killer walking to you to slap it on his face, or if you are mindgaming on a very, VERY short loop (short enough for that rather small latency to matter), the rest of the time it dont chance jack sht since, yaknow, you dont have any way to "react" to a hit coming (and dont even try to pretend that 180 are a decent and relyable way to do it).

So yes it is a desync issue, but the killer does have a massive advantage. I play on high ping as a survivor usually so I know. At a ping of 100ms, by the time I see the killer round the corner on my screen, the killer already has rounded the corner for a second and has been walking to me for a second now. On my screen I reacted the moment I saw the killer and made for the window. On the killer’s screen he turned saw me had 1 second to approach and THEN I reacted.

That is a very very big advantage. (Supposing I got my example right)

To the killer, all survivors are just reacting slowly(as much as by 2 secs at 200ms ping) but to survivors the killer has extended range.

Killers are missing hits as well due to this. It is not an advantage.

Every time we have an update, the servers usually have some issues. They eventually resolve themselves, though.

Another factor is that while survivors' postures have changed, their hitboxes haven't. That can make some hits look absolutely ridiculous, even after the server lag is fixed.

I literally had the same issue for 3 days now, ping spikes from normal 50ms to 250ms in a matter of seconds. it's not internet connection which i checked and never thought of game being a problem itself.
