I really wish there was a way where people gave up could just appear to be struggling but notify teammates that they gave up

I guess hooks suicides don't bother me that much as killer hurt your team more than me it's when you DC on the ground or being carried what's happened to me earlier in two games while I was doing the sacrifice 6 Survivor challenge. Also had two games as Survivor today we're two survivors gave up when we were in a pretty good spot because I'm guessing they didn't like the nurse we were playing. Lots of nurses today

Personally, I agree with the OP in some regards. It sucks to have to play a game where things aren't going well and you're basically being pummeled from the starting line. I totally get someone not wanting to continue to deal with that. However, it hurts the team. It's a lose-lose, because you either suffer through a match that you clearly aren't having any fun or luck with, or you leave and you get shamed for it. Nobody says "Let's play a game to not have fun!" and yet here we are.

I'm hook suiciding if the game meets any criterium of my own:

    1. When I reach stage two and 2 or more survivors are hiding and crouching even when it was completely safe to rescue me, I'm out.
    2. If I looped the killer for 5 minutes and not a single gen is done, I'm out.
    3. If I am being griefed (hook bombing without BT, bodyblocking while I am looping the killer, etc., I'm out.
    4. This one is very specific but when you drag me to a corner of a map to heal me (which is stupid in the first place, because healing me next to a pallet is much safer) and you miss a skill check which results in a killer finding us, I will indeed hook suicide.
    5. If there are 2 or more people who do nothing but trying to flashlight save all game (AND FAILING) which results in no gens being done, I'm out.
    6. If 2 or more people self-heal the entire game against legion who has sloppy, I'm out.
    7. If the killer facecamps me and survivors don't even try to make a save - I'm out when I reach stage two.
    8. If the killer snowballs so freakin hard the chases last for 10 seconds and survivors do nothing but juggle back and forth to rescue and heal, rescue and heal, rescue and heal I know this game is a disaster already as no gens being done and survivors are incapable to loop a killer for a reasonable time. I'm out.
    9. If there's an afk player from the beginning to the end of the match or a survivor DC's or hook suicides after getting hooked by a killer and I can see there's no potential of escaping because the survivors are too weak, I'm out.

Nobody disagreed with you there. Last time on Dragonball Z, we basically disagreed that hook suicides was a harmless action, as it redirects the Killer to your teammates who should (hopefully) be genrushing. Face camping ######### sucks but once you level, you stop seeing Killers like that because they never level up - because face camping doesn't give them points/pips.

There are 100 great reasons to die on hook. Be sure to use them. Game is crappy. Die and move on.

nothing wrong with it. Just know you are helping the killer that's face camping you. If you do hang on, it's up to your teammates to use the time to get out. Even though most of the time they don't.

There are good reasons to do it but doing it asap just because the killer face camped you while your team is trying to save you is not one of them

Players are not obligated to police the playerbase by doing what everyone thinks is right. Killer or survivor. Game just needs a better options that doesn't kill the rest of the match, or bum everyone out, simple as that.

Op, if you want to #########, its alright I know what you're going through. Just remember there are teammates like me that really want you to live and it's not for my own chances, I will adapt. It's because the next time I'm in a lobby with you I'm not dodging.

    Good luck op.

You have the wrong idea. If the killer is face camper then yea you probably should try and 4%. If you team is running towards you then don't. A lot of survivors complain about "hook suicide" because it ruins there game. Some survivors hook suicide because they're trying to make the killer lose but honestly, it's worse for the survivors.

For that matter, why do anything for anyone else if it doesn't benefit you? That mentality is better served in a game that is not team focused where you can solely focus on YOU. Killers don't rely on anyone else in the game...maybe that is a better role.

Anyone who plays a team game and relies on their teammates to help them and do objectives BUT suicides as soon as they are in a situation where selflessness will help the team and punish the killer BECAUSE it is not personally gratifying is not a TEAM player.

The game is balanced around 4 survivors. Counterplay to face camping IS to hang on and let the team do gens and get out. The killer gets only 1 kill and they get few points. The sooner people start consistently doing this, the sooner the killers will abandon this strategy.

I don't want to play with survivors who have an egocentric mindset and leave as soon as they want without consideration for the other 3 survivors playing the game.

It would be interesting to see personal stats for each survivor in lobby such as # suicides and #DCs in the last 2 weeks. It will never happen but then we could root out the quitters...
