BHVR made a bad move
BHVR will return everything as it was. Nobody asked to change the animation of the survivors and change the interface. You have fewer donations per player.

What about the people like me who like the new animations and the proposed new hud?

We have no plans to revert the changes, the vital system processes that have been changed will help us to build a better game in the future, the new updates has also had a positive effect on the performance of the game on all platforms.
We'd much rather improve the features upon Community feedback rather than just revert as this would remove lots of important fixes that we need to continue improving the game.

Developer comments?

I like it too

I buy skins and dls. I won't do this anymore. The developers didn't deserve to be paid for their work.
12 -
Good luck. But without me.
10 -
I mean they are still going to get paid.
All that would happen is they would shut down Dead by Daylight and start working on a new game if everyone stopped playing it/spending money on it.
Also, can we address how awful, conceited, and disgusting that comment is? For just one second? "They don't deserve to be paid for their work". Really? The work they have already done, been doing, but because you personally dislike it, the job they did that was dictated to them by someone higher up, they should not get paid.
Imagine whatever job you work, say a grocery store, and someone started telling you that you shouldn't be paid for that 40 hours you put in that week because the store sold you some expired goods one time.
The level of malice in that statement is mind boggling.

A solution to keep everyone happy in regards to the UI would be to allow for a toggle on and off option in the settings for the traditional UI and recently introduced revision of the UI.
2 -
the new updates has also had a positive effect on the performance of the game on all platforms
I absolutely disagree with that sentence.
I still consistently encounter FPS drops (big FPS drops and smaller ones) every game on PS4.
26 -
Why change for change. Nobody asked for this. I believe that money is wasted if it generates negative reviews. There is no more desire to play.
6 -
I think skill checks stopped lagging on all platforms with the new UI tbh, so there is at least that.
But yeah, plenty of folks are still reporting FPS drops.
7 -
There was a PTB. The reviews were negative. But it was still moved to release. What does it mean?
5 -
Same for Xbox1 no improvement actually slipped back in some areas, like lighting frame drops worsened.
9 -
Developers response template. They don't want to admit they did a bad job.
7 -
I just want them to fix these damn FPS drops we had to endure for years.
It's baffling that they can't even fix that.
5 -
- Wait wait...all is ok now because "Fixed an issue where unbreakable sets could be broken." Right.....right?

There is a reason Pride is a sin.
If they were that vital can we get some inkling of what these vital features are please!

Cool story. Still losing players.
2 -
I find it strange that you've seen positive performance increase. I feel like it's tanked after the update. What had been running very smoothly before now hitches constantly.
6 -
"performance on all platforms" i play on a Series X and i go to 1 corner of the map on Gideon Meat Plant and my frame rate drops to about 15 fps....
3 -
I disagree that the update should be reverted, but I agree that the HuD and some of the new animations suck.
3 -
Because it's a lie that they're feeding us to try and placate us. If they don't do damage control immediately, DBD will die before the end of the year.
1 -
You're probably right :/

I don't mind the new animations, except the idle one, which scares me. But do the movements can be worked separately?
Real question, I know nothing about how to code a game.
0 -
A positive effect where? I still get the shittiest FPS I've ever seen, if anything it just got worse.
2 -
Why not roll out the patch before the mid chapter?
This way everyone can rank up as they should and no one gets any of these bogus hits.
They allready know what it's causing it if i read it correctly, so if they roll out the previous update they can work on the issue instead of trying to rush it.
And the entire community knows what happens when bhvr rush things 😉

Oh but the breaking of linked cosmetics was on the top of their list but hit boxes and everything else wasn't. Glad to see the priorities of the devs
0 -
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The devs having priorities?
Should be clear they just do whatever they like, they don't think or listen.
They do like the joker from batman said "I just do things. I'm like a dog chasing a car, I would know what to do if I got one"
They just think oh that looks like a good idea, let do that and push it out without testing it properly.
Oh wait, the update is broken? We heard you loud and clear guys, we just take our sweet time and we'll see when we fix the problems.
But when we do fix it, we make sure we fix the misc first before the game breaking once.
Sorry to say but bhvr as a company are a laughing stock between game developers when it comes to fixing problems
2 -
Shh you are you are ment to believe they optimized the game by buying a ps5.
2 -
I'm also still getting fps drops on ps4 and have noticed NEW triggers. If teammate is running Leader, Streetwise, or other survivor perk that has icon pop on the HUD everytime they come close enough for it to activate you get an FPS drop. If killer is running Oppression and kicks nearby gen while you're working on gen with someone else you get horrible freeze in the skill check that pops up.
2 -
Moderator states they're doing this to build a better game in the future. Is that a near future?
Every single of your updates breaks something, even this simple 4.5.1 simple ass hotfix you managed to break animations, un-hooking, changing character's clothing and god knows what else.
4 -
Yeah,i noticed no difference in performance.
I'll keep an eye out on these new triggers you've mentioned
2 -
I'm glad to see others not noticing an improvement. I kept seeing people saying they no longer have fps drops and was wondering how I was still getting them. 😂
3 -
Assuming it was just poorly worded and not advocating for slave labour, I agree with the sentiment. The last 2 major patches have been extremely poor quality, with the Twins chapter being released with an unfinished killer and 5 of the 6 perks being broken to a degree. And this midchapter introduced changes that were extremely poorly received on the PTB, and yet 4 weeks later were implemented anyway with an entirely different slew of bugs. Both of these patches have caused major hits to my already shaky confidence in BHVR, to a point where I have gone from regularly playing 15-20 hours of DBD a week to 0 since the most recent patch dropped. Do the devs deserve to be paid for their work? Of course, they've put in hours of work on the content and deserve the paycheck. However, do I feel like BHVR deserves my money? (which I think is the sentiment the posted was trying to convey) No, no I do not. Not anymore.

Man,i almost got excited when i saw that thread with two last gen console players saying their performance improved 🤣
Literally my first game after the update:

New animations actually reduced the frame drops for me, playing on xbox
1 -
That's fine, that's in regards to the company and games success. Fiscal success based on the quality of a game and it's long term support is a totally reasonable and proper thing.
If people don't like it, then it will stop making money and development will cease and the game will shut down. If it does keep doing well, then things will continue on until it's run its course.
Selfishly attacking developers, saying they should be fired, not paid, or other ridiculous assertions over some bugs however is never okay.
1 -
Same. I saw the posts and thought maybe the new HUD atleast fixed fps drops. Played survivor and still had same fps drops so figured they must have been talking about killer being better. Tried killer and had same fps drops there too. So now not only does new HUD give me eye strain headaches after a few matches but my performance didn't even improve so I still have fps drops. Bright side it has helped push me towards other games, as soon as headache starts I switch to new game and don't touch DBD again until next day. 😂

Applause 👏🏻
I’m disgusted by some of this community’s attitude sometimes.
2 -
You can hardly blame people for being upset. We've spent money on the game. And the DLCs. And cosmetics. All for a game that's becoming increasingly less enjoyable with every update.
Why would anyone pay someone for doing an objectively bad job?

It's pretty abysmal sometimes.
See my last post because that is more what you are really talking about, and that's different.
Saying someone should be forced slave labour however is a different matter entirely. It's a disgusting level of entitlement one should be ashamed for even thinking, I'm only pointing it out instead of letting it slide for once because god forbid someone actually reflect on themselves for more than 3 seconds, they might not like what they see.
2 -
What's this about changing characters clothing!? I do not want to lose my flower crown Kate because of a glitch like that!

Really? Where is the improvement? Is it the ping or the hitboxes? Is it the invisible walls, or the walls that have no collision? When is BHVR gonna scrap the DBD team and hire competent developers? Sorry if I hurt your feelings, bud.

Here's another one for you, since I'm already going. Match lasted 15 minutes easily. No award in unbroken. Should have been silver. I understand there are some issues that will occasionally arise, but what I fail to understand is how, to this date, you still can't update your game without completely breaking the core gameplay. I have never seen a game where every update literally breaks the base game. Some bugs? Yeah, but you literally break the basic components. Lately, it feels like your test builds are more finished than the final product turns out to be; like, I'll test something with a few bugs, and then you'll find a way to break it even more before you release the live version. It's completely backwards, and it honestly feels like a joke.
Maybe I'm wrong here, but it just sounds like you don't actually care. It sounds like you're riding this wave of being the only game of your type in town, so there's not really any incentive to actually try. I have a feeling if any competitors rose to the occasion, they'd do a better job at your own game, and you'd be filing lawsuits like crazy, claiming infringement of some type.
And maybe it's not your fault. Maybe your team does care, but you've got bosses that are telling you to push it, regardless of how finished it is, because profits come first. It's pretty fortunate that people can simply buy your original characters with in-game currency, instead of spending actual money, so they don't feel robbed when they throw $7 at a DLC that releases like it's still in Alpha. There's not much profit in that, is there? Though, if that trend starts, I've got a strange feeling newer content will be excluded from being able to be purchased using Iri shards.

Already fixed my man, thanks to their priorities.
