Cheating Cowboy?
What was this? Lag? The insane hit boxes? Actual hacking? I’m so confused and the guy wouldn’t respond when I asked him how he did that. What do you guys think?

With the state of the game currently it's hard to say if it's a cheater or the server but likely it's the server because of how hitboxes are at the moment. Give the player the benefit of the doubt for now. I had a few hits like these against me today so I'm assuming that's the case for this Deathslinger.

it look like vpn killer and it give me vibes were lagawitch was common thing on p2p servers

Even with the insane hit boxes I was never picked up like that before. I was picked up basically a five feet behind me.

It happened to me earlier against a Clown twice so I'm just not going to assume anyone is cheating until next patch unless it's super blatant.
Sucks overall but it is what it is.

This does happen due to lag. Perhaps he was lag switching though, don't know. But it could just be the servers screwing up.

I’m not going right off the bat saying it’s cheating cause I know the game still has issues but I was just stating the options. It was all just really strange. That hasn’t happened to me before.

If the hitbox issue wasn't present I'd just say the person is in the wrong region because matchmaking or a VPN or is cheating or lagswitching. I just can't bring myself to accuse someone of that though because the state of the game.
Personally as someone who lives in the United States I've been randomly placed in places in Europe or other areas I don't belong in while playing killer so I know it can happen. I was accused of cheating plenty of times because of this and I don't use a VPN or anything it's just matchmaking went nope.

That is true. But now I have to make sure I’m doubly away from killers now. Looks like some can hit a mile behind me now lol

I guess thats the famous desync. After you turned in the stairs, for some reason on his screen you stopped running and was standing still.
This happens sometimes, it's the same bug when Killers are running straight to a wall and suddenly they teleport.

He's either using a vpn, lagswitching, or has extremely bad internet.

This newest update has the whole game bugged and it's now just awful. Same map, I tried to vault at the far side of the building, the one where the lockers are right by the window. I was at the window and went to vault, but the next thing I knew I was teleported to the locker and I was getting into it. It was out of my control, the killer was coming so there was nothing I could do. They saw me jump into it and as they were behind me, it basically gave them a free kill. To my eyes I was at the window, but to everyone else, who knows?

In that same map I encountered bad lag as a killer once. Going up the steps then glitching to the bottom of the steps. Rinse and repeat. It sucks cause I was in a chase atm. Of course I lost them.

This looks like a combination of a VPN Killer, Lag and our current desync issue all combined into one.

I know this is not what you want to hear but it looks like the game just being itself. This game atm has so many glitches and though the graphics look "better" is still a mess. You can dress a turd in fancy close but its still gonna stink.

Yes. From a killer perspective it looked normal.
Its not like as a killer we would even try to swing from 6m away. It's all dedicated server issues as discussed in the 100 threads on this topic.
Survivors need to stop whining that the killers have an unfair advantage because it also goes the other way in regard to to missed swings.

That's the most frustrating tbh. The game had it's issues before, but this almost makes you wish they hadn't bothered to change it...

I have been healed while standing two feet from the survivor that was healing me. When the action was over I teleported to the other survivor’s position. Could be the same thing. Server lag or whatever.

I was about to point this out too. It's some pretty extreme lag because the hook animation froze for a few seconds before it actually registered. Now as for what caused the lag you can speculate all day, but it was definitely lag based

This looks like an extreme example of desync to me. Basically the killer sees you right in front of them but the you see the killer far away. This video helps explain it:
