Since we know a resident evil chapter is coming, what about Jack Baker?
Just think it would be cool.

Welcome to the family, son.
15 -
I mean, it’s heavily suspected but it’s not 100 % confirmed to come, is it?
19 -
I've found my people, at last.
Real talk, RE7 is the RE game that would fit dbd the most imo.
9 -
As much as I want it to be true, how do you 'know' a Resident Evil chapter is coming?
12 -
We know that an RE chapter is coming..?
10 -
RE7 was a mistake, a misguided game that burst its load on trying to rippof the texas chainsaw masacre at the start of the game, and then couldn't find be bothered to create a good gameplay to flesh out the game.
With the R2R and R3R being as good (and iconic) as they were, I sure hope this is where the inevitable RE dlc will go.
Give me Racoon city police station map, give me Clair, Leon, Jil of Chriss, give me the Nemesis, MrX or just a Licker, THOS are the iconic names of the Resident Evil series, not the Bakers
unless we are talking about Joe Baker, which is objectively the best character of that whole game, gib a Bill skin of him pls.7 -
When did we find out a RE chapter was coming?
Are we about to Crazy Talk it into existence?
18 -
Pretty much. When it doesn't happen they will just say "Well it wasn't this one, it's just the next" until it happens.
In all honesty if I had to pick a Capcom horror killer to add to this game it would not be something from Resident Evil, it would be like....Scissorman from the Clocktower series or something. I feel that would fit the game better; and not feel like a license risk to capcom.
7 -
For real, if an RE chapter was happening (which I do not think is quite as likely as some people are suggesting) Jack Baker wouldn't just be unlikely, I honestly wouldn't want him.
That's not because Jack Baker isn't fun, but I think the fact he's a decent person being manipulated by the mold doesn't really fit with him as a Killer. Plus, his fun factor comes from his voicelines he wouldn't have as a Killer, and I'd struggle to think of a decent Killer Power. Would much prefer Nemesis.
This isn't because I think RE7 is a bad game. I just don't think the circumstances surrounding a RE Chapter would make 7-related content easy to feature.

"License risk to capcom"
Dude, we are talking about Capcom, the company that have systematically run into the ground each and every of their IP, they couldn't even even the effort of pulling ONE very good R2R have apparently exhausted them enough that they had to half ass R3R.
The more probable reason for the fact that a Resident Evil DLC still didnt happen is more likely due to Capcom being Capcom, and being extremely greedy to the point of making a deal impossible.
3 -
I'd hope not, as many people said when RE VII was released, it really doesn't feel like Resident Evil to me.
0 -
This. Even if we put aside how extremely overrated RE7 was, it's just not nearly iconic or representative enough to the whole series to be what should be picked here.
2 -
Sure, but i think Nemesis would fit better. Nemesis is more iconic
3 -
Imagine hitting Nemesis or one of the Tyrants with a pallet and them caring.
0 -
New power, Viral strength: when a pallet is dropped on the killer it immediately breaks, killer stunned for 3 seconds longer than usual
1 -
So.. a 5 second stun instead of a 2?
Breaking the pallet only takes 2.6 seconds, so it seems kinda redundant.
3 -
So a worst Spirit Fury?
3 -
I would prefer nemesis, but I'm just throwing it out there.
I mean, I wouldn't say spirit was a bad person, but she got taken.
0 -
The timing may need to be tweaked, but the idea of the pallets just being one time use appeals to me
0 -
The killer will definitely be Nemesis. Give him the ability to smash through every obstacle in the game 😈
0 -
Imagine all the hype to build up for an RE chapter just for us to get a zombie as the killer.
3 -
Resident evil isn't in the ground yet. It just has some parts in the dirt and some clawing its way out. I think Devil may cry, Street fighter and Monster Hunter are still above ground. Mega man could still be revived, I think...
0 -
We don’t know that at all.
Where’s your proof?
2 -
A game that made Capcom a fortune was a mistake?!
5 -
Yes, and a pretty obvious one.
First of all, as I said, anyone that has really played the game (till this end) could tell you that ... yeah, it was kinda lie.
The game sold itself on some flashy into, but lost all steam very, VERY fast.
Secondly, the game was a pretty bad attempt at using a known name to sell a game that has basically nothing to do with said name, it was disingenius at best.
And last but not least, the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remake have proven that the real Resident Evil formula still worked, and showed everyone that this is what the series could and should have evolved into, but sadly it was too late and Capcom already signed on a sequel to RE7 following its formula. They are now stucked in a very awkard position where they have provided some excelent update on the real RE formula that were unanimously loved by everyone, but are already on board of a speeding train that goes in a totally different direction.
So yeah, RE7 was a mistake, they should have called it something else and not do the sadly too common move of cheaply slapping a brand name on something to make it sell more.

"Our 5th year anniversary event will feature some impressive stars that will blow your minds."
A quote from Mcote wishing everyone a good 2021, according to LeaksbyDaylight for anyone wondering why RE is brought up
Personally, I would like to have William Birkin as the killer though.
1 -
It worked out for pyramid head... IMO he was more menacing and stronger than nemesis.
0 -
Alright, but Pyramid Head's just about dude sized (except for his giant pyramid dome of course) and the knife + head combo are supposed to represent punishment and weighing him down. In Silent Hill 2, you could run circles around that dude.
Nemesis is a gigantic mutant monstrosity whos' biceps are probably bigger than my torso.
1 -
I don't think Nemesis would be all that much different in size compared to some Killers like the Oni, for example.
0 -
Fair, but I haven't seen the Oni swallow 10 grenade launcher rounds and start sprinting at me.
0 -
It wasn’t disingenuous at all. Capcom reinvented RE with the seventh instalment as dramatically as the fourth was a departure from the games previous to that one. It was becoming too action focused in 5 & 6, losing a lot of the fear, dread, and most importantly, the claustrophobia. 7 brought RE back to those roots. In fact many argue, myself included, that RE7 has more in common with RE1 than any other RE game having anything in common with RE1.
It seems the formula they used in RE7 resonated well around the globe because RE8 is going to be an even FURTHER departure still from RE games before 7. RE8 has more buzz around it right now than any other RE game ever.

I don't know if we're guaranteed a resi chapter but it feels likely.
What I'd love is 2 resi chapters. The next one being old resi and the june one being new resi.
The series has too many great characters to just waste on only having 1 survivor and killer.
2 -
Nemesis and Jill would be based, forget Chris.
0 -
I feel like Jack would be a fun choice but idk what his power would be.
Maybe a Killer that gets stronger as the match goes on?
1 -
knowing my luck, when something RE is expected it'll be something like jason or chucky.
i would love to see X or nemesis but my luck always gives me what i dont currently want :P
1 -
Titles a little clickbaitey, I won't deny that.
1 -
Exactly.
2 -
Fair enough.
i thought I missed some new info there ;)
1 -
I really liked re7 honestly. I was glad that they tried to mix things up to help keep things fresh.
I'm honestly inclined to think this will be the most like chance they release a resident evil chapter since resident evil just hit a big anniversary, re8 is coming out, and remake4 has been getting a lot of info coming out lately. If not now, then I kinda don't see it happening anymore.
For killers if it were Jack or Nemesis they would have to have an obsession perk is my guess since they are obsessed with their prey. I'm a bit over Nemesis honestly so i don't want him. Jack would be great if he talked but I dont think he would so I don't want that either.
I'd love Birkin or Mrx is the most honestly, but I'd also love a bigger chapter (which isn't necessarily out of the question either)
1 -
This, I thought RE 7 was one of the best of the series so far. It brought us a different take on RE as a whole, created one of the best VR games of its time, and gave us some of the most twisted type of horror since Outlast. Point is RE 7 is more then welcomed into DBD, honestly Jack scares me more then Mr.X or Nemesis due to how realistic the character is, when going against him I kept thinking of my dad if he was a genetically modified psychotic killer, it wasn't a pleasant thought. at all.
4 -
I'd honestly think Birkin being a skin for Blight since both their characters are very similar, and both were inspired off of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. As for Mr.X hes my second pick, he seems the most logical choice for a killer imo
2 -
RE for chapter 20 is not really a good strategy for capcom if you would ask me. It would make them less money at that time(close to the village release) and we are certain the chapter 19 is not licensed, looking at what devs sais 2 weeks ago.
Chapter 19 i could see a scarcrow killer
CHapter 20 Pinhead

I was actually thinking about this the other day, Jack would be a good choice. I feel Nemesis or Mr x is gonna end up being the killer if we do get a res evil chapter though :v
1 -
They wanted to reboot it but honestly the bakers have so much emotion. Felt bad for jack cause he seem like a decent family man before Eve got him.
0 -
Personally if we get a RE killer I want Daniela Dimitrescu, Lady Dumitrescu’s daughter who attacks you in the demo. I think she would be a cool killer with a similar teleport ability to Spirit and Nurse as she can turn into a swarm of moths
0 -
If we do get Jack, I want him to give off iconic voicelines, for him to be decent, good perks, and for his DBD theme to be something similar to Re 7s' theme Go tell Aunt Rhody.
1 -
Have you... ever played any of the first 3 Resident Evil?
I guess not because you seem to think that RE7 has... well, anything in common with thos games outside of "hooo spooky".
And sure, RE5 and 6 where pretty garbage, but that's Capcom for yah, they couldn't recognize a good thing even if it slapped them in the face.
The only reason RE7 was a such a succes was because of the brand it wrapped itself in and because everyone was starving for anything not as dreadful as RE6 for the Resident Evil series. Have that game had any other name, it would have been just another "cool horror game" like Outlast, but nothing more.
And yeah... if you think that RE8 has more buzz than any RE ever, you've clearly not been around when RE3 was on its way.

My only experiences with Jack are from Resident Evil Re:Verse (their new multiplayer game) and hearing people talk about being chased by him. From what I've heard and seen, he didn't really seem all that special. He just seems like a crazy human that's strong and carries a big weapon (if he's not and there's actually something more about him, please don't spoil me with the details as I am looking to start the game soon so I can be caught up in time for RE8).
I think Nemesis would be better because he has so much to work with and you can come up with a bunch of ideas. Looking at the various incarnations of him, you've got tentacles, the roar stun (pretty sure it's only in the remake), a rocket launcher, a flamethrower (remake), and a minigun (movie, if they go that route for whatever reason) to work with, all of which are firsts for DBD. Imagine running to a jungle gym thinking you'll be safe only to see Nemesis burn it with his flamethrower and block it off! Or you try getting behind an object like a small box or rock only for his tentacle to smack you upside the head! Obviously these aren't final and we'd need to make sure his power is balanced, but there's so much potential there.
It would piss them off even more (or in Nemesis's case, it might amuse him because of how intelligent he is). Pyramid Head sounds angry when he gets stunned, so why can't the Tyrants?

“Have you... ever played any of the first 3 Resident Evil?”
Yes, extensively. Multiple play throughs. I’ve been around a few decades thanks, and i’ve followed the franchise very closely.

See, pop culture and popularity kinda ended up morphing Pyramid Head into this super badass force of nature. In Silent Hill 2, he was a terrifying creature, but he.. really wasn't that hard to fight. Watch the stairwell battle if you don't believe me-- he's terribly slow, and even though he can kill you in one hit with his great knfie (which you can do too when you get it, while being pretty much as slow), he seems to have about as much trouble lugging that knife and head around as any other person would. They buffed him up a lot in this game.
Contrasting to Mr. X and Nemesis, who're legendarily unstoppable giant fuckmonsters in and out of universe. Mr. X casually shoves aside the wreckage of a hellicopter just to get at you, and Nemesis tears down a chunk of concrete and rebar bigger than you just to run you down with, while also being like 4 feet taller than you.
Not saying you couldn't put 'em in the game and stun them, it'd just be weird to hit them with a small piece of wood and have it not just explode on contact.
