Killer vs surv mentality on these forums
I know the game is designed that way but it is a game. You guys can get along and be more nice to each other here.
Just saying.

Hey we're just role playing the 2 sides my man.

You might be, but the significant majority of mains are most certainly not.

Killers complain about perks whilst survivors complain about ######### hit registration

I choose not to see "Killer mains" or "Survivors mains."
There are only reasonable people and unreasonable people.

That is a good point.

Always with the straight facts
All you can do is be respectful and understanding to others and try to spread positive vibes.

Glad i'm not the only one typing vigorously at people for this.
Was starting to feel a little lonely.

Thank you both :)
I always try to be understanding and reasonable in my arguments, so it does pain me to see that many do not share the same sentiment.
At the end of the day, we all want the game to be better, we just have different ways of going about it. I like to keep that thought in mind.

this is not only an issue on this forum, its an issue in all platform where people discuss dbd, including the game itself.

I don't know why tbh. I know online gaming in general is kinda toxic but never understood why can't people treat others the way they want to be treated.

I agree lets all be respectful and kind to each other.

there are 3 kinds of people, those who can count and those who can't

It's easy to do when the person you are attacking doesn't have a face.
It's easy to do when you are protected by the anonymity of the internet.
I'm ashamed to say that I used to be that way, not too long ago, but I hope I'm doing better now lmao

My father said that to me the other day....

You do realize the 4v1 is just begging for bully mentality, right? Either it's four people outclassing one, or it's one outclassing four. Neither side comes out the winner in most cases.

I don't have killer players on Xbox calling me a "Gen rusher" When they kill me.
But, I have had Survivors call me "Tunneler" and "Camper" when they get out. Even If a MF has Object and is looking right at me I should let them do a hex cause "its our objective".
I am sorry, Survivors activity demand me not to do my job as a killer.

Because the gaming community is incapable of being civil.

That deserves respect. Thank you for changing for the better.

The problem isn't that we can't get along it's that the game is designed in a way where the best possible play for either side is considered toxic to the other for many reasons. It's not the players fault it's the games fault. It's hard to not get mad a killer for abusing perks or tactics that are lame for the survivor and vice versa. It's nothing to do with the fact that the game makes you opponents

Nah, it was just the right and decent thing to do. I appreciate it tho

I started to play this game only Survivor, for half a year. For me Killer isnt fun, they just go around slashing people. Being chased is thrilling. Hiding is also fun.
Until I start to play Killer after. Then I have to 2 ways of understanding the game.
Honestly, being "main" is a thing.

i dont think that was the point the poster was trying to make. The point ( i think) was the poster doesn't take what you play into account but rather the argument you make.

I don't consider those things toxic at all. For me toxicness is hitting people on the hook, nodding, teabaging, messages etc.
People are free to play how they want as long as they are not going out of their way to insult others.

That's correct.
Real arguments consider the opposing side. They understand that in order to get what they want, they have to give a little and acknowledge and address the other views points and fears.
I only see people who can reasonably argue their points and those who simply enjoy sowing discord and hate.

The entire notion of "us versus them" is a false dichotomy. Most Players take on both roles over the course of their time playing DbD. The few people who remain either a Killer or Survivor "Main" are far fewer in number. I dislike seeing conversations framed as if role anyone is playing matters whatsoever in a logical argument about mechanics.

It's more people's lack of ability to objectively look at the situation and take responsibility/victim mentality.
Playing fighting games helped me with that because it's a 1v1 you only have yourself to blame when you lose, because if you take the time to review your matches you can see your mistakes and if you understand the game mechanics, frame rates, invincibility properties, and hit boxes you can see where you need to improve. (obviously lag/exploit can be an exception.) A 1/9 can seem helpless but that's very rare.

That doesn't mean they don't attach their identity to a certain role anyway.

Usually people will like 1 role more and what's funny is there's a number of them claiming to be play all with 4k+ hours which would be same play time as streamer does and bashing one side.

This. I don't mind what side you main. I care about what you're saying.
I will say however maining one side makes you much more prone to ignoring the other sides problems or just not understanding them. Not that that's an excuse, its just harder for those people to grasp what they don't experience or see. Also group mentality and whatnot.
That's my guess as to why the "mains" are usually the much more unreasonable ones, although not always. I always try to experience both sides of things before solidifying my thoughts on matters if I can.

I feel like mains is a misused word in this community I feel like its supposed mean that that person has bais to their role and it's up to others to determine if it's fair or not
But whit this community it's either killer or survivor there is barely anyone that plays both and has time to prove that they almost equally play both. So their bais dosent feel the same they think the other is wrong

Sadly it's unlikely to happen. I try to be fair to both sides. If I think something is unfair to one side or the other I speak out against it.

Im just happy to see the community being a community :)

That's fair. I honestly like to be hit on the hook. It's honestly a compliment to me. Like "You #########!! You were such a pain in my ass man. #########." Just means I did my job. I think stopping someone from playing the game is way worse. Like I wait 10 min to play the game just to be camped or tunneled? Nah that's ######### bro.
