Jake Is Our Rainbow King?
He's the only original to not get his archives, so I'm starting to wonder... if he is the gay boy the LGBT was teased is already on the roster. It'd explain why he is taking longer (since people on both sides criticize how it's done... always) and could actually expand the lore he already had established to give it more meat. We know he didn't jive with his father's control or the family expectations to the point he ran off on his own into the woods to live his own life. But it'd actually fit in really well as many Asian cultures are still coming to terms with homosexuality and his family may of been arranging his marriage to a woman for the family line's success. (aka business)

I actually don't care too much about it being confirmed or not, but I been pondering why poor Jake is the only original to not get anything. Not to mention certain people will tunnel anyone playing him which is unfortunate for his mains. But it all fits in so well that I'll be lowkey disappointed if it's another female character in gaming that has a footnote that she is gay for a quick check mark in the LGBT community to keep them quiet and to make the insecure players less riled up cause gay ladies are more accepted in the community than gay dudes.

Thats a hot take the devs doing what they want to the archives suddenly mean they are reworking the backstory of a character to add that to the game
My thoughts they just were already on a roll with the other characters and wanted to keep going with them and just kinda got on a roll and jake got left behind and instead one of the next two survivors will have being LGBTQ in some way as part of there lore but not be their main and only character trait

I think it's Nea personally. But if it HAS to be a character that hasn't gotten an archive yet, I'd suggest Adam.
As for the gay girls vs boys thing, I would say male homosexuality is so much more common in media then female. Lesbians need more representation too!

They already did the others, so it wouldn't be only Jake getting his story tweaked some and expanded upon. Every original and free Survivor and Killer have gotten their expansion. Jake hasn't, so it's just a spit ball theory the reveal could be him.
I'd rather the super ugly girl people joke is the entity is not revealed to be the lesbian. That's very... very loaded. lol

Not that lesbians could love her, but it's the very safe route that would be geared more towards making the straight guys who would get upset about a gay male character happy cause now they can think about having Kate and Feng hook up. Many gaming industries have taken to making gay females over gay males cause they are received better by the ones who dislike homosexuality. We really should get both a male and female though to be honest.

Not to sound homophobic but what's up with Lgbt and Horror? Every time I'm looking around in horror and in the forums I tend to hear, and see a lot of people saying they are Lgbt, or other a lot, and it just mind boggles me to see a lot of this. Not that I have a problem, but I'm just curious, what is the connection or reason that I'm not seeing?

Not sure what it is about this genre, but it really does have a strong rainbow fanbase. And for some reason, this fanbase is also pretty thirsty. (both straight and not so straight sides)

It’s not homophobic to ask why the correlation exists and if there’s a direct causation instead of coincidence.
when you’re from a marginalized demographic it’s natural to be drawn toward a medium that allows you to jump between the survivir and killer. We often have to survive while being viewed as the monster.
Plus since horror is a medium for processing trauma and seeking catharsis it also makes sense for marginalized groups to be drawn toward it with the trauma they face in the regular.
also since horror has a history of mistreating marginalized groups, it’s great to see how it’s evolved to be more inclusive over the decades while other genres are not quite as fast in doing those things.

Oh okay thx, I was just curious that's all. And honestly I can relate, I am however straight, but I have suffered from the trauma of bullying throughout my years, and feeling isolation. I guess thats why I love horror I felt comfort and joy from just talking about what I've dealt with. Sadly it still persists, but I've gotten better. Thanks again though

As for Jake I just love him and if he was gay I'd love him even more lol
