Trapper
The trapper is super fun to play, so why can’t he just start with all of his traps in his bag? While playing at higher ranks, if you take the time to collect your traps, & place them, 3 maybe 4 gens are already complete. Where’s the fun in that? Having all of his trapies in the bag Instead of running all over creation to get them seems easy enough. Corrupt is an option, but not that great. You still spend all that time collecting traps, especially if the traps are in weird places, ie under generators, top floors, etc.

You could for example easily lock down a building and proxy camp. I agree that he needs a better way to get his traps, but having all traps at the beginning could be abused.

True. Locking down a building, & just standing close by seems less fun than collecting traps lol. Maybe just half of the available traps, but after they are set, only able to carry 1, or 3 depending on add ons

i agree he needs buff, they should give him some kind of bag to allow him to get bear trap more than 1 for me

He's quite bad. Using his best addons only gets him to barely mid tier.
People mention the bag to give him 3 traps at base which would be a good start, but he honestly still needs a lot more.
-Traps more centralized in the map
-Darker at base
-Maybe a weaker Iridescent Stone at base (maybe like every 40 sec)
-Increase the radius of the trap hit detection. The radius for detection is too small.
-Escaping a trap on your own while already injured should down the survivor. Avoidable if a teammate rescues you. (this should have already been in the game years ago)
-The sound of setting the traps feels like too much of a giveaway but it would probably be awkward to be setting a trap with no sound. Maybe something a tad softer?
Trapper is honestly a really tough one to fix. These are just some ideas but he needs something that's much more than a minor tweak.

It's been almost five years since DBD has been out, and your poster boy of the game still only has one trap at base to start.

I think there should be some skill where he will collect 1 trap from where he want on map (like traps teleports to his arm), but sure it will be on cooldown. Something like this will help him a lot.

I’d say having 3 traps to start and having trap struggling be like snapping out of it would make trapper a lot more fun to play as

Trapper is by far the worst killer. C'mon, 1 trap basekit?? He definitely needs some BHVR love.

I think they could make him better by making Trapper sack, Logwood dye and Rusted Jaws should be basekit, and then replace those addons
Trapper Sack gets replaced with a Escape chance add on
Logwood Dye gets replaced by a Rescue and Escape speed decrease add on
And Rusted Jaws' current effect becomes base kit but it gets reworked to inflict Broken for 60 seconds

Basement trapper already exists and so does hag.
I see no reason why he shouldn't be able to start with all of his traps.

I dunno about all his traps, but even making brown bag base kit wouldn't be enough because brown bag would STILL be considered a must have addon.
Honestly I would allow him to carry 2 traps, and be able to re-stock 2 traps by going to any locker; and the locker caps out at the map maximum and after that he cannot get any more traps.
Because bhvr seems incapable of just placing traps on a map, they just put them in unreachable sometimes bugged out spots and just...leave them like that for months.
Then I would make it so dead hard does not let you pass through his traps and Luck offerings to not affect escape attempts. If survivors can dead hard over a trap, then trapper should be allowed to step over his own traps, it's way too common of a perk for that.
I would change his tar addons to be spray paint, in which they are coated in a paint that resembles the color pallet of whatever map the traps are used on; it makes sense that if trapper is preparing his traps on a map like ormond why would he use tar instead of like whiteish spray paint?
Lastly, I would give him some form of corrupt intervention (That would not stack with the perk should you chose to use it) for the first short bit of the game. It would be shorter than normal corrupt by a fair bit, however he would also be undetectable in this time unless he hits a survivor or kicks a gen at which point corrupt light lets call it and his undetectable status would drop instantly.
This allows trapper to readily use his power, have some set up time, and cut down on being unable to use a bunch of traps because they are just so far out there or in crap spots; as well as nerfing some of the overly strong hard counters that don't even really counter any other killer nearly as hard.
(Upcoming DS and OOO changes will help him no matter what though; Trapper is extra vulnerable to meta perks like those compared to most killers)

The basement isnt even really that problem. When the killer gets someone in the basement, he should have an advantage from that. But you can make many hooks a nightmare when you have all traps around it.
Its certainly is not the optimal playstyle, but its not the optimal playstyle to use every hag trap around a hook. But people still do that.
I would prefer when the trapper would have a mechanic to get traps from a distance. It would make him more versatile, too.
