How would they nerf Dead Hard?

Regardless of if Dead Hard is a godlike crutch or a piece of ######### that barely works is not the point of this discussion.

If they were to nerf Dead Hard, what could they actually do to it?

The issue with Dead Hard is the distance, but that's because it's a toggleable leap forwards, if they were to remove that it would just be an invincibility frame.

If it's because you "can't predict it because it's instant," does that mean it needs a charge up or an animation que? That wouldn't solve the issue, and is just extraneous details for the sake of being there.

I don't understand what people want from a Dead Hard nerf, because it doesn't seem like you could really nerf the perk without completely overhauling it.

Its not about the distance, not even avoiding a hit or reaching a pallet with that, its about the time.

DH has the power to extend a chase, making like 30 seconds instead of 20 (this is an example). I don't have a problem with dead hard I have a problem with comitting just one time to the wrong chase or get tricket by dead hard and instantly lose the game because of how fast gens go.

So I would not nerf dead hard, I would nerf gen speed.

An activation other than being injured. It's the 1st chase dead hard which is the king of all cucks.

Buff the perk, more i-frames, maybe even a curve, but you can only do it after an unhook.

First fix it to be consistent then either remove the I frames and increase the distance it gives or decrease the distance and give more I frames

I do see the first chase DH being mentioned a lot, and that does have the potential to be really crippling in the early game for killer. Would that be too minor of a change to just make it so that DH can't be activated until at least 1 survivor has been hooked? Wouldn't be much of a nerf at that point but it would address one of the bigger criticisms of the perk

Make it so it doesn't also make you invulnerable. Right now a survivor can just dead hard into (and through) the killer without being able to be hit.

I would just change it by limiting the number of times you can use it and put it on a token system. This makes it less oppressive in a chase as it lets the survivors think on when it would be best to use it and make it more skill based.

i dont see any problem with dead hard, is strong yes but unless u are going against good survivors wont be a problem and if they run to strong areas you shouldnt be chasing them anyway because is a waste of time, luckily most survivors are potatoes so usually is not a problem.
