Why do survivors choose flashlights?
They are pretty easy to avoid at least for me.

There is a known trick using a flashlight when the killer breaks the pallet. this may be an easy way to break line of sight.
Maybe that survivor wants to save more than anything else / learn how to use it better or just have a challenge.
Or to annoy the killer unfortunately.

This. Stun a killer with a pallet, hit the flashlight, run like heck, then break LOS and start walking. Instant Killer dodge.

Cough huntress hatchets lightborn

Well if you have a smart team you can get them to jump into a locker for a locker save

Yes, yes... and Pyramidhead Judgement of the Damned. Doesn't mean it isn't viable 99% of the time.

Against bad Killers, yes. Blinding at Pallets is usually a waste of Batteries and time.
@Topic:
Flashlight Saves are some of the more skillful things for Survivors and also fun to do as well. And yes, they are easy to avoid thats why they are the weakest Survivor-Item, but still, more fun to use them than a Medkit, Toolbox or whatever.

When playing the Hag, Survivors can flashlight her hexes and null them. Which goes to show may be easier than the sneaking trick

Traps not hexs

The real use of flashlights is to clicky clicky at your teammates like an idiot sandwich

How else am I meant to use up all of these?
On a serious note, though, it's because flashlight saves are the most satisfying, rewarding, and fun thing to do as survivor in current DBD, especially when I just happen to be in the right place at the right time. They're an easy way to farm boldness points, chain blinding is amazing, and you can pull off some rediculous ######### that for some reason works. For example, stun a killer, blind them, slow vault the pallet, fast vault back over and they swing. Not the most practical but funny as #########, and that's why we play a game, right? To have fun.

Because everyone wants to do the overrated CJ tech, I've only fallen for it once. Since then when I see people trying to do it, I bait the living hell out of them and smh in the process after I down them.

The same reason why I use lightborn and see desperate Survivors flashing me on pallets

Be thankful. They aren't running a medkit or a toolbox.

Lol, this.
So much this.
“Hello? Survivors? I have ears. I can HEAR which direction you’re going!”

I typically only being it for a challenge. I had to blind the killer 5 times and I got it all in one game against a pig which was pretty hilarious

yeah i have no idea even though i main survivor. like i never see them get used properly in games

Even the best killers make a mistake sometimes, and we survivors want to be there with a flashlight so we can put a spotlight on it...
...more exactly we want to put the spotlight right in their eyes!
