The key nerf is worrying?
As a solo survivor main, I don't care about keys but the killer (most of the time) will tunnel the survivor who has a key. There is no way In hell that the Devs are going to make the key nerf same as the mori nerf.
What could the key nerf be then?

The key will take a few seconds to open the hatch (Also not a nerf)
As a Killer main, it wouldn't change much, but it would be a welcome change imo. Also, the hatch should close after every Survivor that goes into it.

The key will be used for something other that the hatch (I want)
Change them to be used on breakable walls. You'd push the key into the wall with Entity effects covering your hand, with the wall crumbling after you turn the key.
Hatch is just a bad mechanic in general, and I would be in favor of replacing it with something else. (Like a boost in speed and whatnot if you manage to outrun a killer in chase for long enough when you're the last alive)

I'm not 100% sure what the poll is asking but this is the closest to what I hope they do for keys and rework/remove the hatch entirely.

The key will be used on one survivor at a time (Not a nerf)
I think that there isn't much you can change with keys without reworking them completely. I think that it should be made so that every survivor needs a key to escape from the hatch and multiple people can't escape with a single key. I don't think that there needs to be an animation so that killer would be able to grab survivors of the hatch. If you have a key and you find the hatch you should be able to escape instantly. Finding the hatch is already hard as it can spawn basically anywhere on the map and you can easily miss it. If you have a key and you're the last person alive while the gates are powered you're basically dead unless you can extend the chase long enough to find the hatch. Adding an animation would be a huge middle finger to basically what the hatch should be. A lifeline.
Oh and also I chose this option because it seemed to be the most like my idea. It would most certainly be a nerf.

I would like it if keys only worked for the person holding the key. I think that would be a positive change that's pretty simple to execute.

Option 6 / F None of the above. Your poll ony has biased options

Your idea? (Probably a buff)
What if they made it like those 80's horror movies where you go to use a key and boom.... wrong key, ok try next one.... wrong again? Killer getting close? He's stabbing you to death? Welcome to 80's movies. Change the key to a set of keys and have a chance that you will use the wrong one sending a massive sound alert to the killer.

Biased or not, it's good to speculate. Whether your a survivor main or a killer main, keys are next. So I just want to work our what the key will be used for if it's going to be a "big" nerf.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Keys should operate nearly identically to opening gates. It should be an interaction that takes time for the survivor to complete, it should make a lot of noise as the large metal locking mechanism slowly gives way. The interaction should be able to be interrupted.
It should work exactly like BNP, the key is consumed upon use. Meaning if the action is interrupted and the killer catches you mid-animation, the key "breaks" and cannot be used a second time. Forcing survivors to be much more meticulous and careful about how they go about going for a hatch escape.

It seems like the devs are serious about the key rework being huge, considering that the mori rework was just one change and a "5 seconds to open the hatch w/ key" would also be one change other than the animation for it, so I oughta choose this one. Even without being able to open the hatch, keys are still pretty damn powerful (Green key gang! I wish it had a separate model though), with the ability to have wall hacks on the killer, or a better version of Bond, as long as you use the duration wisely. We'll see what the devs have to offer next month, next chapter's gonna be craaazy.
