Magnum Opus= Evil Within 2
This is a stretch, a mile wide one at that but its been in my mind since the coffee cup image. I've also taken the new dbd twitter profile pic into consideration. im grasping at straws but its fun to guess anyway.
This image is driving me nuts with theories. the number one theory, lets get ready to welcome the greatest artist into the game. Stefano Valentini. In Evil Within 2 we meet Stefano a psycho serial killer within the game who kills people to create the most beautiful of art. Magnum Opus could be referring to his obsession Lily Castelliano who will obviously be aged up for this. Another thing is the image of a city in the back lip of the cup, it features what looks like 2 buildings, one looks like the hospital and the other looks like the grand hotel.

This would be more love than what Bethesda is showing the Evil Within franchise right now. But I wonder how the buyout by Microsoft would affect this. 🤔

It wouldn't go through right? because they even are limiting the next elderscrolls game to only Xbox and pc. The deal might have been made before the buy out tho. I'm not very knowledgeable about this tho so take my words with a grain of salt

It is not confirmed at all. But there are...signs... for it.
But even without any information, being original makes more sense, because it is more likely that the Anniversary Chapter (Chapter 20) will feature licensed Content and two licensed Patches in a row would be unlikely.

But I have a problem with him as a killer because: his power in Evil Within 2 was based on the dream world they were in, he is not a supernatural beeing like Freddy he is just a dude. So if you take his power from the "real world" then he would be a normal and regular size human being. His power could be what I once suggested: a killer that can blind a survivor that is looking at him (blinding with his flash camera).

I'd certainly be down for any Evil Within characters in DbD but I feel like if the teaser images were tied to a license it'd be something we'd know for certain. Mightee One Entertainment being seemingly something original makes me personally doubt any license theories. On the other hand it could be a Ghost Face situation with part of the character being original but that feels like a one off situation.

Freddy, Leatherface, and Pig came out consecutively. Ghost Face was followed by Stranger Things. 2 licenses in a row isn't that unlikely.
That being said they still have 4 more realms to rework, and aside from Ghost Face licensed dlcs usually come with maps, so my money is on original.

True on Freddy, Leatherface and Pig, but I doubt BHVR is repeating that again, considering how flawed those Chapters were when they first came out (especially Freddy).
Ghostface and Stranger Things on the other hand is different tho, since Ghostface was only a Killer. But that Maps still need to be reworked and a licensed Chapter will most likely contain a Map is a really good point (and if they keep their current pace, they will be done with the Midchapter-Patch after the new Chapter).

I'm pretty sure the only reason ghost face didn't have a survivor with him is because they'd already planned on having 2 survivors (steve and nancy) with the next chapter. After all they do begin making new chapters like 5 months in advance.

Could be an option. Or the license holders of GF (or to be precise - his mask) did not want any Survivor while the License Holders of Stranger Things wanted two Survivors.
But as said, the Maps are probably the strongest reason for an original Chapter.
