Can the killer know if I have DS and when is no longer active?

I just faced a killer that crealy knew I had DS. After getting unhooked, he downed me again, and he didn't pick me up. And at the very secod DS was not active, he picked me up, so he knew both that I had the perk, and he knew exactly when it was not active anymore

No, the Killer doesn't actually know if you have DS.

Most killers "Respect" DS. This means that if they see an obsession on the enemy team, they might just not pick you up 60 seconds after you are unhooked no matter what happens. You can also just tell by the way a survivor plays a lot of the time that they have DS. If you're not afraid to go down, are overly altruistic, or suspiciously bad at chasing, a killer might just leave you there because you're playing like you have a second chance in your pocket.

I know I count to sixty in my head for each survivor I down off unhook, because I know that if I don't I am going to get hit with that sucker.

TL;DR It's an old trick and killers expect it.

If there's an obsession the killer assumed you had it, which they always should, and then mentally counted to 60 before picking you up again. Not much else to it.

I have a watch that counts seconds, if I suspect ds I'll just glance at my watch on the unhook. "at 23 seconds I can pick them up." Then I just wait. To see XX:XX:23 on my watch.

Even if there is no obsession killers are hardwired to respect DS.

Make Your Choice(MYC) is one off the only perks I can think of off the top of my head, that can help killers time DS simply because MYC's cool down and exposed duration on rescuer at T3 is 60s and triggers when the hooked survivor is rescued, just like DS activates when your rescued.

If he had Make Your Choice, the timer is exactly 60 seconds from when you're unhooked, same as DS. So if he was far away when you got unhooked, he knew the exact moment DS ran out.
