isn't there a fair chance that the killer themselves is lgbt , I mean it could fit nicely into a tragic lore, and to me it would be much more interesting

Yes but that could be perceived in a very negative way by the LGBTQIA+ crowd if handled incorrectly.
Personally I'm down for an LGBT survivor or killer I just want it to feel right and not forced. I think everyone shares this same sentiment though.
And others just want the game to function properly which I'm here for too LOL
I certainly hope this chapter has a smoother rollout than Binding of Kin did.

I agree 100% I don't want them to be taken as a token, and I'm part of the lgbt community myself so personally I don't see anything wrong with a killer being lgbt

Some bad faith actors will definitely claim the character is a token no matter what, though. They did the same with Claudette back when she was the only black character. The only way they won't claim this character is a token is if there are more LGBT characters, the same way nobody claims Claudette is the "token black character" any more.

Yes. Not in DbD, obviously, but when LGBT characters started being introduced, they were almost exclusively villains.

yeah but now a days both villain's and heroes have been portrayed as not bein villain's for the fact of bein a villian most characters have a reason to why they are what they are

Honestly the main issue is a lot of people would think they were trying to associate LGBT+ with evil but I doubt the devs would do that on purpose (watch them pull out bigotry bred hatred for humanity in them so they started killing straight people and prove me wrong lmaoo).
If the killer is LGBT+ and the survivor isn't that's cool, throughout history a lot of villains have been qu**r coded anyway (censored that because some people are sensitive to the word people shouldn't be using it so liberally on this forum). And tbf the villains are usually hotter anyway so that's chill.

But I've been seeing threads and threads on why the new survivor will be lgbt+ but no one has said why they think it will be like that.

It’s about the posture/model of the teases character. And the colors used in the teasers. It would kinda fit. And as soon as one person made a thread to speculate on these fact, all the people that say they don’t care made a this go this big.

Me too, I can't wait for the next chapter to come, the possibility of it happening really hyped me. I think i didn't waited for a chapter like this from long ago, i hope we get lucky and it comes true in the coming chapter 😅

they've confirmed any representation will be survivor-sided only, which honestly.. is kinda disappointing when you consider frank x julie and wraith x nurse. evil straights are valid but evil queers aren't? there's an argument to be made that we've been over-represented as villains in media and that's well and good, but if they're giving us queer survivors to balance the scales i'm totally onboard with queer killers too.

Well... after Nurse and Legion this is definitely a disappointment. Hopefully they change their minds on that, because this is not equal treatment.
