What's the point?
Why bring a gateau if you're just gonna tunnel off hook? This rank 9 hag player really tunneled a rank 17 ace clearly a newbie player. Her first three hooks were on him, I literally watched her injure and chase a meg and as soon as the ace got unhooked she went halfway across the map to the explosion and got him so he only got 4.6k points.
Hag didn't even get much BP for a 3k game even with the gateaux so why use it if just gonna home in on the newbie player?
I should say the Ace was using small game, deja vu, the other perk with symbol that look like deja vu but isn't kindred and some other perk nobody uses. I play killer more than survivor and only because how few play killer.
I don't play hag, I know hag is slow and relied on traps that is not problem to me and I know to prey on the weakest of team but to drop a chase you would win to go halfway across map to get the newbie to me is dirty, everyone entitled to play how they want as long as it's within the rules but when only one gen is done, we are being outplayed to me there is no need to tunnel off hook.

Could just be someone playing for fun. Not paying attention.

Nah dude if playing for fun they wouldn't abandon a chase like that, I mean as soon as the ace died that same meg got homed on too. It's one thing to go for weakest link, it is another to just home in in a player each time they are freshly off the hook. I play ghostface and in games where I have got 1 or 2k I had 33k points at the end of it but this hag with a gateaux only had 25k with 3k that says something.

I mean... you gotta do what you gotta do to have the advantage.
And besides, it's not like the killer knew immediately that ace was a new player when they were in lobby.

"a rank 17 ace clearly a newbie player"
Honestly, every time I've thought that I get hit with a purple/red number at the end screen.

It was a Hag, tunnelling is basically in their job description. Maybe she just wanted to play that way, because if you're playing Hag you're playing to win, not for fun.

I play Hag for fun frequently. That feeling when you sucker a Survivor into a trap, especially when they think they're super awesome cool, nothing better tbh.
Using a Gateaux though... that defeats the purpose of the Offering imo. Might as well use a Card and get the Bonus BP for the hooks. When I drop things like Streamers or Cakes, I usually go a bit more chill and try to chase as much as possible. Bonus BP is pretty wasted when you have too short of a match, especially if you can recognize the new players. They give you TONS of BP because they just don't know what they're doing.

It happens. Sometimes one or 2 randoms bring a party streamer possibly anticipating a bit of farming.. next thing you know you’re on a gen and 2 are downed and a slaughter begins where nobody really gains significant bloodpoints. Best case is a long chase and hatch but yea feels bad.

Sometimes I bring Bloody Party Streamers and slug everyone in the first 4 minutes and watch them bleed out because yolo.

Killers who do that don’t know how to play efficiently.

.....this is literally the optimal playstyle.
Kill someone off asap so you can play chill.

Nope. He wasted his offering.

He really didn't.
A 3K game is a minimum of like, 20K BP. So he got 40K from that game.
That's pretty good.

You can tell by how they loop...

They were all new because when I unhooked the meg she immediately set off the traps and in the score screen nobody was at the killers rank or above it

Oof. That makes it a bit more understandable, but any reasonably experienced Killer will notice that.
One side, the Killer will take advantage and just steamroll them of course. Sounds like that's what happened here.
I tend to ease up though. Extend chases a lot, maybe mess with them a bit and do some purposeful misses. Herd them around like sheep. It is quite enjoyable, and nets a ton of BP for both parties. Can still get the 4k or 3k + hatch, but... I guess it's just your own personal playstyle really. Some people like to stick the knife in AND twist it while cackling madly.

Imagine playing chess and letting the opponent take one of your pieces when you are winning just to be fair. That's what i hear when people complain about using X game mechanic to take an advantage.
