The Trickster should be called The Idol
His name has NOTHING to do with his power or who he is. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the new killer and how he plays but his name just doesn't fit him. The Trickster sounds super promising until you realize he just throws knives really fast. The Idol is a far more suitable name given who he is and his backstory. It just fits.

Trickster was his stage name after his band died, but I see your point- It'd make more sense if he was more tricky, but his backstory and ingame interactions are all about vanity, ego, and being an attention [BAD WORD]. The Idol fits much better.

I agree The Idol would be great, BHVR seems to have unnecessarily wasted the name Trickster, a Killer whose power should be about deception, here.

I am purely speculating, but does "The Trickster" translate into something in Korean that has a different meaning or cultural implication than what it means to English speakers? I have a hunch, based on the lore, that "Trickster" refers to something in Korean that we do not understand.

It's a Deathslinger scenario.
Per example, we all hated "Deathslinger" on the PTB release because it sounded super edgy and tryhard (still does) but it grew on most people, including me. At least with the Trickster, it doesn't sound anywhere near as self-important. It'll grow on ya.

Deathslinger is at least a literal name, he literally slings death. There's nothing tricky about this guy.

Agreed. Trickster should've been used for a killer that has mind game powers not knife throwing.
