Would you mind if you would definitely know who the killer is before the match starts?

Title.

Would you actually mind if you could see who the killer is in the lobby when playing survivor?

Would that ruin any bit of the experience? Change your playstyle? Would it make the experience better? Would it be encouraging or discouraging?

There's a handful of killers where you know it's them once you loaded into the game, would seeing their silhouette in the lobby be different? Would it feel unfair?

We don't need even more people dodging, make it so no one can see the other players

The only killers I think it wouldn't be good for is Trapper and Hag. If survivors knew they would be going up against them they would completely change their perks and items to counter their power, effectively neutering those two killers. Otherwise, it shouldn't be too much of a problem in terms of fairness.

The main issue I see with this is that it will cause queue times to increase since many survivors will just lobby dodge killers they don't like. Spirit, Freddy, Nurse, and Blight would all be avoided like the plague.

Okay let's just say I know I'm going against a Doctor, I'll automatically put Iron Will and Calm Spirit on. If people actually were to know who the killer they're going against is, it would really ruin the experience for killer players.

I would like to know if Im going to face Twins so I can lobby dodge, other than that the problem is what people have already stated, Survivors would equip all perks related to counter that Killer.

I would not like to know. Same with Maps, I want it to be as "random" as possible.

But I guess, Spirits or Freddys will not get many games. And maybe Killers will experience how it feels if you get dodged for Cosmetics/SWF/Items.

Almost every killer has very overwhelming counter options available that would make this kinda OP. I think the info advantage of the killer seeing items helps offset the trial control advantages survivors get via having 4 offerings (which is why I think survivor builds should lock at 20 while killers lock at 10, so item swaps don't work) and why killers should be able to switch in lobby.

Seeing certain killers breaks them (Though the fact perks exist to BTFO trapper is bad design) and seeing killers would make maps ridiculous. There is even subtle stuff like anticipating killer builds to counter em.

I think it would work best if it was more of an offering when the match is loading and it would then show a symbol representing the killer for that match. This way no one can change up perks or bring an item specifically for a killer therefore nerfing him.

This would hurt Stealth Killers a lot. Survivors might not be able to change their Loadout, but everyone would be aware, so no possibility of sneaking up.

I would no doubt dodge any lobby if I see a Spireh or Freddy, to avoid right away the nuisance that's going against them. And that probably would be a thing if you could. Besides, you could build yourself to counter the killer's power in general, while the killer - even knowing who you're playing - can only tell so much from you as a survivor.

I want to echo what Aven_Fallen said above. Are you comfortable with Spine Chill getting a rework so that the range at which functions against Stealth Killers is quartered? :) For the record, I already think Undetectable Killers should half the range at which Spine Chill triggers. Doing what you are suggesting just means all four Survivors would have Spine Chill (as it currently stands) in every match against a Stealth Killer.

I feel like it would lead to lobby dodging if it's a killer they don't like. But at the same time killers can lobby dodge if they see things they don't like in the lobby so would it be fair for both to be able to do the same.

I think a few Killers would suffer from the loss of element of surprise (Myers, Wraith, Ghostface, Pig to a much lesser extent), and a few other Killers (Hag, Wraith AGAIN) would get screwed over hard by bringing in certain items.

That would be extremely, breathtakingly, game-killingly unfair. Not only do certain perks and builds hard-counter specific killers, the survivors would also just dodge lobbies.

Imagine if literally every trial was against Spirit or Freddy, and your ques took an hour. Why? Be ause no other killer can be used. At all. Survivors would have a whole minute to prepare whatever complete and absolute counter they could ever possibly want.

If it's spirit I'd likely take Iron Will off since it'll be useless....there are a few killers I'd dodge because an hour queue is more worth wasting time in a game that literally ######### noone will have fun in.

On this topic, though, while knowing the killer is out of the question, we should be able to see their ping. To hell with being forced to play into high ping killers; it's unplayable. And many killers abuse this fact (cheat) by using a VPN. Showing their ping would solve this issue as we could choose to dodge said killers and killers with 400 ping to a server would take longer to find a game, if at all, so they'd be forced to go back to their own region.

Letting the Survivors see the Killer could very possibly kill the game.

In addition to items hard countering certain killers and certain perks countering certain killers... there's also map offerings. With the exception of Nurse and maybe like... 3 others, I'm pretty sure every other Killer has a few maps that they'd really rather not load into.

Like, Huntress would rather not load into indoor maps.

Billy and Blight would rather not load into Lerys and other maps that are so closed off that using their power is difficult.

Myers and Ghost Face would probably rather not load into Ormond where seeing all the way across the map is easy and their dark outfits stand out like a sore thumb against the white snow.

Legion and Death Slinger would really rather not get any stupidly large maps like Shelter Woods or Mother's Dwelling.

Bubba would prefer to not get maps rife with structures with strong windows... like Haddonfield or Badham Preschool.

I could probably keep going, but I think you get what I'm saying. Now it is possible that Survivors might be nice and not exploit this insanely badly. However, giving one side of an asymmetric game all of the power over whether the other side can have fun is a terrible idea.

Yeah, I would definitely mind. There is way more information in seeing a killer than seeing four survivors. The most a killer can counter in the lobby is items.

If survivors saw killers, they could then counter their entire power.

Some perks are hard counter to certain killers and as long as such perks exist, I would rather not have killer revealed to survivors when they can pick such perks.

I'd never get a game as deathslinger main. So yes, I would mind a lot actually.

I don’t need to know. I like playing Jeopardy at the first 30 seconds of game.

It can be hard enough to find killers at times. Allowing the survivors to see who they are going up against before the match might drive more of them away.

That would be awful, it would extend lobby times because "im not playing against X killer" as well as makes survivors change their loadouts to counter the killer.

Now i know what you'll say "But killers also do that" but survivors doing it is MUCH more severe as certain perks are hard counters to certain killers meanwhile all killers can do is adjust their loadout to survivor items.
