Something i noticed as a killer main
If i 4k and utterly destroy survivors. They insta leave. No GG, Nothing.
I get destroyed? oh ggs! Yeah its ok, you had a rough game, haha, better luck next time or (insert toxic comment here)
I get a 2k? maybe one or two will say gg.
Why is it hard to admit defeat? or admit someone played good, or bad (but in a more constructive way then just "haha your bad")
if we all just.. Told each other the things we're doing wrong (in a CONSTRUCTIVE MANNER) the things we do right.. i don't think toxicity would be such an issue here and in other games.
its not simple but i'd like to think this community is better then that. Sure we have our differences but we're all here for the same reasons. Well at least id like to think so.
any thoughts?

I don’t say GG to anybody. Whether I win or lose. But I have my messages turned off anyway as I don’t want to have conversations with the people I play with or against.

Any reason for that? im afraid if its the toxicity you hear about on the daily thats driving you away from talking to others in game.
Like don't get me wrong, this game is sometimes a pain in the ass, but i've met some genuine people from this game that im glad i call friends.

I’m not a big people person and I tend to dislike the majority of the people I meet so I tend to keep my socialising to a minimum. I have met people I once classed as friends online but over time they began to really annoy me and I had to cut ties. So now I don’t bother. I prefer my own company.

Some players are just like that I went against a killer as solo, I just played normally but two other survivors were clicking and being toxic. He lost the match so after he complained how survivors were toxic etc.
Went against the same guy a few games later with a different team that were complete potatoes, he destroyed them and proceeded to hit them all on the hook and then got me last and stood above me and let me bleed out on the floor. Pretty ironic tbh.
People just have double standards when they are winning compared to when they lose.

This is the cycle we refer to.
The person was probably super mad at survivors and took it out on you and everyone else. Sometimes its even the game itself that causes people to get mad. whether it be from a lack of understanding or just being inexperienced.
as Otzdarva once said, Nothing can account for experience.

It's very true I just find it funny when people lose and complain about the other side teabagging, clicking etc, yet when they're winning suddenly their hitting everyone on the hook and shaking their head at everyone they down. And the same the other way around.

i dont think its people not wanting to admit defeat.
at least thats not the experience i got when playing Survivor.
its just that if you kill survivors, their game will be over sooner than yours. and unless they have friends still playing, there really isnt any reason for them to stay in your lobby and watch, so they'll have moved on most of the time.
so one of the main reasons why you rarely get a "gg" back is probaply because there just isnt anyone left to write it.
BHVR could address this by updating their chat feature ofc, so it displays messages written before you entered the chatroom.
but as long as thats not the case, you wont really get to talk to many survivors as killer. the only one still there when you 4ked is usually the last guy being sacrificed, so one "gg" is the most you can get most of the time.
therefore however the number of "gg"s increases the more you lost - because this means more people left the game at the same time.

You have to keep in mind. The game actively pushes and "us vs them" mentality since its well. 4v1.
I honestly believe being killer is a lot harder then being a survivor. Killers have to worry about their totems getting got, gens going off too fast, people having DS, etc. Its a lot for the killer.
But then survivor.. Its a cespool if your playing Solo. Crappy teammates, people who don't know what they're doing. Gens not getting done. People getting downed in 3 seconds..
its a lot for us to have to.. Manage

That's why I love being a console main. Once the match is over, it's over. I'm not droping hate on anyone nor I have to deal with any of that.
When I play on pc, I usually just skip the chat, doesn't matter if the match was good or not, because it usually has no point (?) for me.
I may give props to another player, though, if I have the chance and they were just too awesome (sometimes I even feel undeserving of those teammates). If someone says gg before I leave, I may reply gg in chat just for being polite (since I know some people on pc care about it and why not be a good sport?), but I usually would rather just move on.

When you 4k they probably don't want to wait until you kill the rest of the survivors just to say gg.
1 -
I've heard on console people actively message others just to say crap to them. Like they will go out of their way to message your account n stuff.

Thats not quite always the case. But i get what your saying

Agreed SWF is the only real easy mode in this game. And you're deffo right about the us vs them thing. I don't know what it is about this game but it's just killer players vs survivor players in the forums and on all the YouTube vids and twitch streams etc. I haven't seen anything like it with any other game before it's crazy lol.

but thats not always true. You make it sound like its not a toxicity issue and more of a "you weren't there" issue.
There have been plenty of times where people STAYED the entire length of the match just to say some nasty crap to me, or their fellow survivors.

Rarely. In the years I've played DBD on console I think I've gotten 2 messages? It's just not worth the effort for most people

I play mostly solo and when I die, I leave, unless I wanna see how the match turns out. I'm pretty sure most other people also do that. If all 4 survivors escape, it's around the same time, so they're all there to say gg.

i would assume you didn't get these messages because you probably aren't that "one bad teammate" or that "one ######### killer"

I mean, I suck at survivor (stuck around rank 13) and I play almost every killer, so...

I have my chat turned off for non-friends for some years now. And that's even before I started playing online, because psn had some bots back in the day that would send you those weird messages out of nowhere (those "are you looking for a partner? I want to meet you" stuff) and I had no patience. I received friend requests after matches, though, before crossplay was a thing, and everytime it was from people wanting to play more (when as survivor) or just thanking me for hatch or something like that, when I was killer. I personally never had anyone going through all the trouble to send a friendship request to insult me.
But I won't say I've never seen it. My friends received one or two messages like that before crossplay. But it's mostly rare now. Besides, psn is very harsh with hate speech. They may ban your account for the slightest thing you send in chat to another person, and you can lose all your games (if it's not a sub account), so I think that also keeps people in check.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention I'm on Playstation as well, and PSN players are a lot more well behaved in my experience
1 -
Well behaved? We must have had extremely different experiences lmao. PSN is full of absolute bellends.

you were asking why you didnt get any responses to your "gg" when you got more than 2 kills.
the answer to that is, because those people in 95% of the cases have already left your lobby and are back in lobby queue.
of course the other 5% exist who end up die 5 minutes in and wait the next 10 minutes until the match is over just to trashtalk you. but those are definitely a minority.
1 -
Some people simply mightn’t be interested in waiting until the match is over just to say gg. Especially if they were killed early in the game due to their mistakes and/or tunnelling.
1 -
Thats why a GG actually means get good in this game
If you win, crickets. if they win "GG WP"
0 -
If the ping is still there during the game then they are waiting for their swf buddies. and the lobby is silent or toxic after.

As long as the Killer wasn't toxic (like tunneling me repeatedly off hook before even touching another survivor) I will say GG WD, no matter if I get destroyed or escape.
Though I like your idea I suspect a lot of players would have trouble taking or giving critique in a way that isn't perceived as #########-talking, so I leave it at just trying to preserve good sportsmanship.

I agree, and it might be because it takes effort to message someone else. In the year I've played, I've had ONE attempt at salt. And I say attempt because after my friendly, feigned oblivious reply, they left me alone 💅

I noticed this too but I would remember that if you utterly destroy a team chances are they probably didnt have a gg. I'm on the team of never saying gg ever. If i do the survivors must have played absolutely spectacular or something.
0 -
Meh. Same could be said about Killers. 3-4 escape and they refuse to say GG. But someone disconnects, another suicides, and then the other two get 1 Hooked? GG GUYS!
I'll say GG, nothing, or not wait around as a solo. It doesn't always match up to if I won or not. I'll often be that guy who goes to save someone at the end and switch places with them on the hook to die. I'll say GG typically even though I died (possible 1st hook even) as long as the Killer wasn't or isn't being toxic.
Then there are special times I wait the entire match to thank or get annoyed with the Killer in regards to killing or not killing a toxic or infuriating fellow Survivor. When Nancy doesn't want to heal you, screws the gen skill check, then rushes to heal you, then screws a heal skill check as the Killer's radius starts up, and then she walks into and hides into a locker on her no hook state life to leave you to die on your 3rd hook... oh I hate Nancys.

Unless I felt someone was being a douche I almost always say GG. I never say GG EZ. To me saying EZ is like saying "You suck". If a survivor is killed early it's unlikely they will stick around to watch the match. Unless they are in a swf they will likely move on and que up again.
