Disconnecting
Hey everyone!
I lost track of how many forum posts there have been on this, honestly. Many posts before mine have elaborated in great depth the issues disconnecting creates, so I'll save the 5 paragraph rant on why it's so damaging. All I ask is if there will ever be a way to punish people, such as a time ban that increases the more you disconnect or something of that nature. I think I remember someone saying excessive disconnecting results in a 24 hour ban? I am very glad said behavior is being cracked down on, but at the moment people just don't seem to have any fear of it.

Are you referring to survivors DC'ing or killers DC'ing?
Anyway, there is an automated ban system for those who DC more than a certain % of their games.0 -
They did a banwave a few days before Hallowed Blight, 15th i think.
Punishments ranged from 1 week to perma ban.0 -
generally speeking I have never seen a survivor dc unless the killer was being a dick, I know I personally have never had a survivor dc vs me in any of my games..so basically if someone dc's vs you, you were being an ass(using nurse auto qualifies you for this)
as for killers dc'ing that's normally due to frustration with the game due to the game being 1000 times harder on killer

Oh no a 1 week ban to the people who ruin the game for others....if they are getting 1 week bans by now then they should be permanently banned cuz 1 week ban is the 2nd tierChesterTheMolester said:They did a banwave a few days before Hallowed Blight, 15th i think.

I still dontn understand why there is no instant punishment like a queue penalty for DCing like in any other game.
But I guess they cant do that or their favourite fogstreamers cant derank by DCing anymore

I've seen survivors DC-ing right after being hit the first time, first down, first hook, even more often when they get downed immediately after someone unhooked them... I'm not saying this is a majority, but there's a lot of crybabies around who can't get it in their heads that it's a competitive game, and a ruthless one at that.
Not implying you're one of those, but I would be curious about your definition of "killer being a dick".1 -

I assume you are using the survivors definition of using a dick.
Yes, then they only DC if the killer is a dick, for example if they hear a electric shock sound across the map, better DC before the doc comes to you. Or an hidden offering?`Must be an mori, such a toxic killer.....DC0 -

I understand what you mean, but this has never been the case in any of my games. People do it for the pettiest reasons. Killer doesn't want to farm? DC. Someone gets outplayed? DC. Nurse teleports or people start screaming in doctors terror radius? DC.
It's part of why I made this thread. It's so accepted and widespread in the community that it can make games really hard to play, for killers and survivors. A survivor disconnecting is a handicap, and a loss of points for the killer. A killer disconnecting isn't as damaging, but it results in wasted offerings. That can get pretty annoying after awhile.

They should take an example from games like R6 siege or Titanfall 2

I mean it seems a pretty rampant problem to me. As a killer I get survivors DC'ing at least 1/3 games, sometimes every other game. This is also without any toxic behavior. They usually just rage because they went down fast.
