Killers who are good sports

Thanks for being good sports. I pkay a bit of both sides but I more often find killers who are good sports about the game. Whether it's a killer knowing he crushed a team and let the last couple eacape/farm, similar if a player dcs right away or is afk at start, and finally for survivors who actively try to screw the team. It does make the game more enjoyable having mercy every now and then especially if it's for reasons outside of your control.

I started messaging some survivors/killers on ps if I liked them. It feels nice.

I have a personal rule where if the last survivor manages to escape a hook I let them go. Had a Meg on a hook while I downed and was carrying the last person. Hooked them and they died and in the process the Meg managed to jump off the hook (not Deliverance) so i was like, "Huh, welp, guess they get to live". Found them pretty quickly hiding behind a rock and I just stared at the rock, swung my weapon, and spun in a circle. They came out from behind pretty slowly and figured out I wanted them to follow me, so we started looking for the hatch.

Could've easily been a 4k for me, but eh, why not? I know how rare it is to naturally jump off a hook and how much it sucks to get put right back on.

I always try to be a nice killer when I can. Love getting messages saying I was good billy or that they really enjoyed the match.

Im not saying let them go for free but at least be considerate about the other side

The best good sports (and the bad ones) really showed themselves during the time of the notorious hill glitch. I had many killers take advantage of it and kill survivors.

But there was the good sports who knocked you down, picked you up and let you wriggle free. They were the true wholesome players this community needs.

I try to be a good sport. If someone dc''s, I'll usually try to farm with the rest. No reason to make anyone else's life miserable.

As long as the survivors were chill/not toxic I'll usually give hatch if the last person doesn't wiggle.

I also leave every hook and play chill until they let me know we're sweating for it. I let the survivors dictate what kinda game they wanna play.

I tend to be a good sport if they get screwed over by a teammate (afk, betraying or dcing). I'll also give the hatch occasionally to the best player if I feel like the other survivors weren't pulling their weight as much as they could.

Same, although I make it last man wins. Whoever I find first is hooked, last man I'll let open exit and escape, usually slugged in the chance they need that PS trophy :P

I used to send people a "you're pretty good" message, but usually I'd get an instant gg ez or you're trash message the moment the game is over. Giving hatch and farming is all I'll give alright survs now.

    Well uhhh your welcome :)

I tend to give hatch quite alot (even though I still think it's a bad mechanic) and you probably wouldn't believe me if I told you that by this point I have more messages of survivors thanking me, giving ggs, and giving props than I have of salt mail. That's why I do it. Met alot of cool people that way. Even if the previous match the survivors manage to get 3 or 4 out and they tbag out the gates I'll still likely give hatch to the last person next match.

Edit: Actually as a matter of fact I made a thread once highlighting those messages I get from the survivors.

I'm actually against killers that give free hatch and stuff like that because it ######### even more matchmaking that it already is giving them a free pip.

I try to be a nice killer to the best of my abilities. It feels good getting those nice messages from others. A simple thing kind killers or survivors do can really uplift someone's day, which is also why I'll search for an item and leave it to the killer before I escape as survivor

This is the thinnest excuse for rationalizing never occasionally just doing something nice for the sake of doing it I've heard in a while. Given how all over the place matchmaking is on most days, I seriously doubt a random (and likely temporary) pip is going to affect the situation to any degree. First of all, in my experience as survivor, being given hatch or gate as the last person alive happens VERY rarely. Even more rarely, the killer will acknowledge that I was with three potatoes or obnoxious players who do not want to do anything other than run around, teabagging and clicking flashlights, never once touching a gen or doing anything else productive. I appreciate the acknowledgement, and since I do and it happens infrequently, I am happy to pay it forward when I play killer.

It's very rare to see anybody in this community who isn't a total jackass. This is the most toxic environment on Earth, surpassing Chernobyl, surpassing a literal bottle of cyanide, surpassing Congress, and it's very rare to see such people.

When survivors blindly farm hook or trade hooks or make the bad mmr blatantly obvious to me I down shift gears and let the ones who struggled most or were found first or were victim to mmr escape. It happens so often that I dont even enjoy the killer role anymore.

I always try to be a good sport in my games. No camping or tunnelling and if I've lost then I'm not going to turn into a sweat. I just let everyone go and give them extra points for healing or pallet stuns. I like to think that me just letting survivors see that not every match needs to be a sweatfest might at least give them a little hope that not every killer in this game is an arsehole who just tryhards every match and they in turn dial it back a little.

I like having my quick 4k matches but I also hate being the Jerk who re-hooks over and over, and always target the Survivor who does the rescue, the other usually escapes that interaction unless they hide poorly.

I hate the ones who disconnect, especially when only 2 are left and 1 disconnects cause I down them once. I just let the last one go, it doesn't feel right to them, I'd rather lose those blood points and rewards than cheat someone of an escape they would have gotten.

When a Survivor is AFK at start I'll usually hit them once, wait for reaction, hit them again and let the others revive them, as a minor punishment for being AFK, but not an outright kill

    Just small courtesies I follow

Killers who are good sports get bullied and insulted and treated like garbage. I highly advise against it; but kudos to you if you can tolerate being nice to people who, will not be nice to you.

I have definitely been finding some very polite killers but then there's also the rude ones. I always make sure that the one's that aren't jerks about their performance are informed. Makes me happy that not everyone has to be overly toxic like some killers (One recently called me Autistic because of my steam profile). Why can't we all just get along and have fun doing our best.

There's been one single time I was toxic in a game..

They trolled and t-bagged me because they knew at that time I was fairly new and enjoy Ghostface who simply stabs.

So I had Rancor and t-bagged the obsession while the rest did the generators.

He had adrenaline and tried to run; bit knock and Mori him only to get an " F*** you " after the game.

Just a friendly reminder that the nice killers CAN be bad; but that's up to you and your actions in my games at least.

I'm not religious but I do believe to treat others the way you want to be treated.

So they must've wanted to be treated like garbage because man; it takes a lot to get me stirred up.

I've rarely ever met a survivor that went out of their way to let me hook them, or kill them, or any of the other things that you'd expect if maybe the killer is having a bad game. But hey, thanks to all the killers for being good guys :)

Killers who are "nice" make me kind of sad because they're the victims of what is the arbitrary survivor rulebook. I mean outside of not being a camper or tunneling at 4 gens and all. You're a nice guy until you have to deal with toxic players then you just kind of stop caring, regardless of the side you're on.
