"The Trickster" is a very lazy name choice by the devs.
Apparently, the trickster gets his name from his lore and as I heard, his song artist name was called "trickster". So were taking names from the killers lore now. Why not call trapper "The CoalMiner" or Hillbilly "The Farmer". To me this is a very lazy name choice because if you think about it, they literally could've called him anything. If his power remotely had anything to do with tricks I would be fine but this name just doesn't feel completing. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, when I heard the name I was excited expecting some kinda of satanic wizard or a metamorphic beast.
Then I saw it was a kpoper who throws knifes...

In what way does the 'Nurse', 'Doctor', 'Clown', & 'Legion' have anything to do with their respective powers? Nothing, but their names make sense because they all fit their lore.
This is not a new thing.

@Superyoshiegg Well, the nurse wears a nurse outfit IN GAME. the doctor uses shock therapy which is a real thing, Clown laughs, and dresses like a clown IN GAME, and legion(well he doesn't count, I cant believe you even mentioned him) Trickster doesn't even dress like a trickster.

Everything you just mentioned was about their visual design, bar the Doctor using electroshock therapy (but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks of that when you say the word 'doctor').
The Trickster got his name because he does knife tricks. That's not hard to understand.
He even does them in his Mori animation, so it's integrated into gameplay as well. More so then the Nurse and Clown, who don't do anything indicative of those professions in gameplay.

Atleast now i know that i wasn't the only one. I actually got pretty hyped when i saw that the new killer was called the trickster, back when the ptb hadn't released and i didn't know who he was. I was really disappointed later that day

I like it, it's goofy and I think it fits his personality. On the surface he's this silly kpop star but he's actually one sadistic bastard

you say that... like Ghost Face didnt get his name from his lore. like Legion didn't get their name from lore. like Deathslinger didn't get his name from his lore. like Demogorgon (technically) didn't get his name from his lore.
imo, The Tricksters fits well with his design (because it was literally his name) and his power (throwing knives like that is a trick, you cannot deny that).
