I'm so sick of survivors killing themselves on hook.
Normally, I don't care if a survivor kills themselves on hook, whatever, makes it easier for me as a killer main. However, now, I'm trying to get the adept achievement and every single hook is extremely crucial, so for a survivor to kill themselves on hook and rob me of another two potential hooks basically means I can't get the achievement for that match.
And it's almost every single game, counting on average, I had a survivor disconnect or suicide on hook every other game throughout the dozens of games I've played in the last two days. It's not only ruining the chance to get adept achievements, but it just screws the entire game over because that particular survivor isn't happy about something.
PLEASE remove the ability to #########, it's so annoying when you're doing adepts or when playing survivor, its such a petty ''I give up'' option that has no consequence for the person doing it themselves.

They should just change a dc hook suicide to count as 3 hooks not 0 or 1

Still needs an actual consequence for the person doing it, in fact, I'd remove the option to even be able to #########, making it so you can only unhook yourself under certain conditions and removing the struggle feature, making it automatic.

Like a
l down or on hook and space mechanic

If you make it so they can't kill them selves on hook then they'll just AFK till they're dead. You make it so they can't do that then they'll run at the killer and kill themselves that way because you can't tell if they are trying to leave or they are just really bad at the game. There's no winning either way.

That's still a better alternative and will act as a deterrent to people giving up. Sure, it won't always work but at least it doesn't rob the killer and the other survivor(s) from points unlike the current ''I give up'' option.

Well, they probably do that because you sweat too much on those games. Make the game interesting, give them a hope to win, so they could struggle till the end.
5 -
It certainly would help a little but in terms of getting the adepts I got most of mine while I was in red ranks so the difference those chase points make is a big difference between ruthless and merciless.

Except the adept achievement is the opposite to this, so you can't put that blame on the killer.

It’s a survivors way out of a game when they know it’s not gonna be fun. Killers lobby dodge all the time because they can see what they’re up against. Survivors can’t so they have to kill themselves on hook to leave

Yikes, the fact that this is upvoted basically tells me what the community thinks towards suicide on hook.
And it isn't good.

If somebody wants out of the match, that’s their choice. It can be annoying, but that’s one of the things with playing with real people. They’re unpredictable.
5 -
Actually I dislike people that suicide on hook and I don’t do it myself either, but I’m stubborn and have thick skin so I just play. I just understand that there’s a lot of things that exist that makes this game pretty ######### to play, and if that’s the case then people won’t play the game whether or not they can kill themselves.
3 -
I don’t get it. For a single person to suicide, you’re ruining the experience of other 4 people in the match. I don’t know why this community accept this.
There should be a penalty like DC penalty for this. Suicide on hook is basically DC with extra steps.

This wouldnt fix the problem on tge survivor side tho. He screws over their Teammates too.
Also this would reward campers.

Dont always blame the other side.

As said above, this rewards campers or people who slug everyone at 5 gens just because they can. The latter isn't necessarily a bad thing unless they're clearly scouring the whole map to down the poor solos that have to endure the asinine nature of the killer. This should have some consequences.
I will say that attempts to escape should maybe factor in to the scoring. But otherwise? Tough #########.

The only thing is I don't see a good way to punish hook suicides as there are valid reasons to stop struggling on hook. New players not used to the game might fail to struggle and just die instantly.
The better change is not to punish hook suicides, but do what they did with Pyramid Head cages. Create a mechanic that doesn't instant kill survivors on 2nd state, but still have a failure option that speeds up the process.

As both killer and survivor, I'm tired of players who take the game way to serious to begin with. Tunneling, teabagging going out of their way to be annoying and then getting upset when you need to use tactics they don't like to win.

As a Killer main you said yourself, I think you're ignoring the pure amount of toxicity and frustrations that many solo survivors go through that can lead them to KOBE. Sometimes it really is the right choice as well. And just cause the Killer doesn't want you to die then and there, doesn't mean he or she is actually going to let you play a enjoyable match. They're just upset they can't farm and control when you get killed off.
Altering it is also going to nerf Survivors in the situations where one kills themselves to let the other try for hatch.
I do understand the frustration though, but more than likely that Survivor was pushed even further into frustration than you to the point they snapped. If only people were nicer to each other in a videogame meant for fun.

It happens almost every match though and I'm going out of my way to not tunnel, slug or camp too heavily as the adept achievement doesn't like it.
Yet they still disconnect, even if you play nice. Survivors are often given a pass for bad teammates and allowed to kill themselves because of it, but what about killers? If you go after, give up, or dc, the entire fandom laughs at you, but for survivor, it's just fine apparently.
Another double standard really.

The same could be said for a survivor trying to get their adept but being camped or tunneled out of the game early.
I understand that adept challenges are difficult, ESPECIALLY for killer (Compared to survivor), but you just gotta keep trying. You'll get it eventually.

It drives me nuts too. It's because nobody cares about their rank. If the new mmr does seperate good players from bad properly, then a robust rank system should follow. Where 0.1% of the best players sit at the top.
The next issue will be the spiteful camping to derank someone though. Not sure how they fix one thing and the other. What a pickle.

Just wait until they change rank reset to everyone drops to rank 20, getting Adept then will be easy even if survivors suicide on hook or DC.
0 -
No, it won't be. Because even the new system will be easily abused by simply afk'ing or suiciding. Everyine will be smurfing around low ranks.
0 -
To get Adept as killer you need to double pip, that isn't difficult to do at rank 20 especially as an experienced killer. If you are getting single pips in red ranks you'll easily double pip at rank 20 and earn the Adept.
The new matchmaking system has nothing to do with current pip system that is used to determine Killer Adept. They are not saying what exactly will determine your new matchmaking score, or what your score is, so it will be more difficult to abuse.
