Does Victor ignore Dead Hard?

The craziest thing was happening in a match against The Twins I had. I don't know if it was lag or what, but Victor pounced at me 3 times in the match, and all 3 times my Dead Hard didn't come out. It didn't even leave me exhausted on the ground like it sometimes does. It was like my Dead Hard didn't come out, but I clearly pressed X. Did it roll back my Dead Hard? Does Victor ignore the i-frames? What is going on?

I remember this being a glitch with the twins, they would ignore DH, maybe they didn't fix it.

If Victor ignored I-frames then you woulda gone on exhaustion.

Victor's interaction with DH is interesting (His 'active frames' last long than your i-frames and if your both moving in the same direction he overlaps your hitbox longer than DH in most cases), but in this case the answer is simple, and, unfortunately, a biiit harsh to say:

You badly mistimed DH vs him, because for what your describing to happen, not only does Victor's player need to 'tell' the server that they hit you before you inputted the DH, but the server then needs to tell your system you were down before you hit the DH button.

So he just... got a clean hit on you. From what I recall Vic's hitbox is a bit 'smeared' out in front of him specifically to make it so he isn't unusable from a survivor just wiggling left to right which may be what caught you out. This is super common in games, the hitbox is basically saying 'ok in this moment its dead on so even if they move from here on out we are counting it as a hit because Victor can basically turn to 'grab you' mid air or something, and we don't want victor to miss by pixels ever on a good shot.'

Remember, vs Victor, always dead hard to the sides or towards him, never away!

Don't underestimate the speed that victor pounces at, and his unfortunately large hitbox. If DH even activated, you would have been exhausted, but since it didn't, it means that 1) the server registers he hit you before it received your DH and 2) his hitbox hit you before you pressed "E."

Victor is good at baiting Dead Hard. Doesn't have a red light and has a faster pounce animation than most Killer's swings so he's super hard to react to.

That being said. It is possible to Dead Hard against him on rare occasion

I literally made a post about this the other day.

I'm pretty sure the devs didn't make his attack an exception to dead hard on accident. Every single time I dead hard his pounce no matter how far it gets into the animation I get downed and it doesn't exhaust me.

I have never ever been able to successfully dead hard him and every time it refunds my exhaustion like it never even happened.

Unless that DH is buggy and doesn't use the hit validation server feature :).

I suspect that was the problem when they broke DH when they introduced new animations myself. THAT could create a scenario where DH 'fires' and you still get hit. The problem with hit reg was that the reality of what survivors were seeing was completely out of line with the server, so you got scenarios like 'you were hit a full 2 seconds after vaulting and running' and 'DH does nothing.'

For DH to not fire AND you still get hit requires your own client to not 'think' you got it off though.

Yeah its very bugged. Half the time I use it the I frames don't register and I get downed. I've timed in different a number of times where most the same it says I used DH but my character didn't even do the lunge yet I'm still exhausted. I dont have a bad connection either
