What's your take on Stealth?
As the title mentions, what's your opinion on stealths viability in the current in game meta?
What would you do to make it viable if you don't think it is currently?

It's not all too viable but it has its moments. It depends entirely on the killer and their perks. Doctor with Whispers? Good luck. Nurse with 4 slowdown perks? Wet dream.
When it works, it works, and my god does it work wonders. It's just pretty inconsistent because you can't plan ahead as to which killer you're facing.

It’s not really that viable. A lot of maps are quite bright and hiding spots are well known
Aura perks like BBQ or tracking perks like whispers make it a lot harder to effectively stealth
I personally find it rather boring but you you enjoy it go ahead just do the objectives aswell

I like playing stealthy. I find it fun.

Playing stealthy can be executed against pretty much any killer that isn't a Doctor or an Oni with Infectious Fright. Though I will say, playing "too stealthy" can definitely end up sabotaging your team.
Don't want to commit to a gen because you're on last hook, so you crouch away? Great, get back on it after the killer starts chasing me.
Blowed up a gen so you crouch away and let your teammate(s) take the blame? So be it, but you're eventually going to get everyone else killed playing like that.

It has its moments but if you're doing it constantly chances are you are actively hurting your team as you're forcing all the aggro on them and you're probably not doing gens. Kind of like self care, do it in moderation and with good reason.

I don't like stealth. I think it's boring. The game can try to be hide-and-seek all it wants, but let's be real: the chases are the fun part.
As far as I'm concerned, if you like to be stealthy, you don't like actually playing the game.

Not very, but it depends on what one exactly means by "stealth".
If we define "stealth" really liberally as just hiding in general, then of course it has a current place in the game. Survivors never want to give unnecessary info to the Killer if they can help it, even if getting stuff done fast outweighs being unseen.
But if we define "stealth" as playstyles focused around it, then it's fairly underpowered. "Immersive survivors" aren't really a thing in optimised play. Having Survivors that are stealthy-looking is essentially free in a build of course, Iron Will is a good Perk, and if you can chance a Killer not noticing you it's worth at least trying, but generally the match will just come down to looping, gen completion times, and hook pressure.
And that's also not even getting into juking setups, which are debatable as to if they fall under "stealth" or not.
IMO, aside from obvious perk buffs (eg. something like Lucky Break could become a viable Iron Will sidegrade if BHVR gave it some big buffs), would be adding a stealth-centric Exhaustion Perk. (Head On is already kind of a hybrid) If that managed to be good enough to contend with alternatives, it'd go a long way.
Though notably, it's pretty arguable how many people even want stealth to be viable in DbD. I'm definitely in the minority in enjoying hide and seek PvP, but a lot of people in this game and other ones like Evolve have said they don't enjoy it fundamentally.

Wow these are very reasonable opinions, I can understand both sides. And I totally understand why some wouldn't like stealth.
Keep giving me your opinions, but for those that do also see stealth as viable or enjoy it; what would you suggest to make it more viable in the current meta?

Extremely effective if your not a bush squatter. Staying mobile, avoiding killer fov, utilizing perks to increase movements or hide marks all work well. Killer have perks against it but most have limitations and/or counters. Can also easily max out evader emblem without even entering chase.

I think its as viable as it can be. There is an assortment of perks and strategies that helps being stealthy really effective.
I think the reason why people don't like stealth is because of the stigma behind it. Everyone has been annoyed by that useless teammates urban evading without helping. But I would say that there are effective ways to use stealth without being useless.

Very effective and highly underrated by people who don't seem to understand what it's about (hint: it's not about crouching in a bush wearing your darkest clothes).

Are you talking the Killers using Stealth or the Survivors using Stealth?
Killers with Stealth are great fun for me. I also have a strong tendency to load non stealth killers with stealth perks. Everybody is good with not healing against Legion... until he activates Trail of Torment and becomes budget Ghostface. Heheheh.
For Survivor its a bit more tricky. I do enjoy being Stealthy as Survivor too. I want to get my hands on Dance With Me and Deception for that reason. However, going too all in on Stealth can easily result in your team dying earlier than they should because you aren't taking any of the Killer's chases.

Not viable killers have too many aura and tracking perks.

I love being stealthy and wish the devs would stop nerfing it. The reworked maps have less fog and more light making it much easier for the killer to spot you from the other side of the map. I'm not asking for the devs to make it where I can just stand there and never be seen, but I'd like more LOS blockers and some more fog in the game.
I used to be an ultra immersive bush but with advice from the forum goers, I have gotten better at looping, well as much as my messed up hands let me. I can even waste okay Nurse players time much more than I used to, but immersive game play is really nice when you're up against a Pro Nurse, Spirit or any turd that tunnels from the start. If the killer wants to play sweaty at 5 gens, I'll make them work for it by making sure they never find me.

I agree, stealth certainly does have its own type of adrenaline rush and some perks have definitely helped keep the playstyle still somewhat doable.

For survivor? extremely powerful. The killer doesn't have 60 seconds to waste looking for who worked on a generator, so they have to leave allowing you to finish it.
For killer? mostly junk. SWF call out, I've had it happen many times when I thought I was going to surprise a survivor inside a building. Also spine chill.

I'll always stealth. It's the doctor? Well time to just keep distance, even if I get static'd I can just sneak away if he's not using restraint.
The oni? Pretty much the same thing really except that he doesn't have extra effects from madness.
The legion though, ######### the legion.

On my early days of DBD, it took me so long to realize Legion can see where you are if you're in close range of a survivor that was hit by his Frenzy.
How the hell did he know I went into the locker??!

The idea of stealth of killers is considerably strong, but in reality, I find them somehow weak.
I love stealth killers don't get me wrong, they are my favourites.
The fact that you can hide your TR from survivors is really impactful, but while you are playing them they don't feel as strong as they should be.

Not too viable if all it is is getting an injure.
PTB wraith is a stand out tho since he has very good mobility and the uncloak speed is useful in medium loops, allowing him to quickly approach survivors without being seen and land hits.
Ghostface is also a stand out with his ability to stealth in a chase as well as insta down.
I would say a good example of bad stealth implementation is pig, she is basically a weaker wraith/ghostface in stealth and even wraiths "ambush" is better since you don't have to suffer a missed attack cooldown. I get that pigs power is also split into stalling but as a main ability her stealth is just awful imo.
edit: for survivors it's good, if the killer isn't in a chase and gens are getting down their wasting time.

I main the bing bong boy. Fun yes. Viable kinda. Just gotta climb the ranks back after a break.

I like to play on the stealthy side and it can win matches if done optimally. That being said, there's times where you can't stealth so knowing knowing how to run the killer as long ss possible is still required.

Legion enters Frenzy. My teammates: let's hide, they will never find us.

All about context and how stealth is being used. Definitely a time and place for it. It comes down to game sense, which is something survivors tend to lack the most IMO.
Take a 3 gen for instance. A survivor gets hooked on one end of it and you're working a solo gen at 50% at the other side of the 3 gen. There is no conceivable way you finish that gen unless the killer is completely braindead and chooses to not patrol the short area. A smart survivor stealths away from the gen as soon as the hook happens and resumes working on it when the killer leaves. Most survivors try to greed it for whatever reason and end up causing a snowball.

Oink.. Stealth is a art form
It's a way of life if you ain't metal gearing your own theme tune your not enjoying the game. If only I didn't have a roar to give myself away dammit..
No problem with stealth or any way you choose to play.

Is it not viable not unless everyone is going it and there a difference between being stealthy (wasting much time for the killer before starting a chase or not starting one at all)
And hiding where you do nothing and let your team die
