I don't like how the argument against it has always been "but it will split the playerbase" when the playerbase has doubled since launch, and that's not including console.

I dont see why it would be a good idea why play dbd casually theres no point no sense to play it that way. Just make it hard to rank up. Actually it works fine sometimes even now since you always get deranked from rank 1 if you failed which was a good idea right now i dont even see players of rank 1 when i play ( rank 1) i always get matched up with rank 2 players.

I'm not sure if you've realized but your Rank 1 isn't shown to other players. I believe they'll and you'll always see Rank 1's as Rank 2.
