I've had more 0 hook games
Since the last update than I have probably combined. Why am I in red ranks and how do I get out of them?
Very frustrating game play on the killer side right now. At least for me. I hate this game in red ranks.

Sorry if I misunderstood, but if you got zero hook, you should depip and getting back to purple, no?

You still get paired with red rank survivors when you're in purple ranks. Heck even green rank killers do.

Do you camp and tunnel a lot? Only asking because it’s very easy to rank up as killer if you do, but at the same time you don’t really improve much at the game. So when you come against good survivors you struggle.

as someone who never ventures out of green territory for the sake of my keyboard i can vouch for this, thankfully it is pretty rare, at most i see 4s and 3s, rarely 2s and 1s

My advice is try to play the game when the killer queues are not instant. I'm lately playing killer on weekend, about from late morning to afternoon. I usually get matched with people close to my skill level. There may be one or 2 red ranks admist, but no rank 1 super survivor.
I've been able to play Plague and perform quite well with her on green ranks. And lose some, win others, but it doesn't feel frustrating (well, the puke sometimes do, but that's on her haha).

Do you use NOED? That can artificially inflate kills and boost you through ranks until about purple.

No. I mean yeah if you're rank 4 with no pip marks then yes. But the issue is it's easy to rank up to red and stay in red because it's so easy to black pip and 2 pip. You never 2 depip. Even though if you get 0 hooks in a game you probably should. This last game I just finished, I finally got my first hook just before the last gen popped. 2 games and 9.9 generators popped before I got a single hook. Fuuuunnnn.

For the record. I'm devotion 21. I play a lot. Not saying I'm great at either side. Obviously I'm not a great killer. Would be nice to play some games where you can at least hook a survivor more than once.
Oh well. Just venting I guess, but I really have had some unjoyable killer games over the last month.

I would suggest to get a very strong setup for your killer. Pick the best addons and perks and maybe switch the killer for a better one. Its to hard to depip until you get easier matches so only way to have fun is to get on a power level that matches your opponents. If you pick a setup or killer that is weak you are forced to play more unfair to get a good game, try to remember the hook count and completely eliminate a survivor as fast as possible. As soon as its a 3 vs 1 you can play more relaxed and fair. If you need to derank the only effective way would probably be to afk the matches with Wraith until you get to a reasonable rank but that is a offence that can be reported in after game report.

That not even true. If you camp you lose emblems = likely no pip = no rank up.
