For Those Who Want The New Oni/Blight Tech Changed
You can't XD It's just polling rate changed. You CANNOT ban mouses that change polling rate since it's not affecting the game files XD also, CONSOLE has an artificial polling rate changer for controller in the in-game settings. Turn your turn sensitivity to 100% and watch the turning rate go nuts.
There you go. Now you can turn as fast and even faster than a mouse. Telling the devs to ban something that has been used for YEARS on COD and other games to make your turning more accurate is some of the most entitled things I've heard in awhile.
We finally get to face Blights who have a bit more confidence and Oni's who actually pose more of a threat than just l-walling them to death (which you can still do on both of them) but now it takes a bit more thought on your pathing to evade them and everyone wants them nerfed. I 100% disagree. You can't ban polling rate XD
Hell, you can change polling rate with a normal mouse on through your computer settings XD I just had to say this. I jump in and out of the forums every few weeks because I can't even reply to some of the stuff that I read so I just leave and play the game. Just let the game play out and adapt. You can still mindgame and even outplay them, unlike Spirit. I want ALL of the Blights and Oni's to come at me in-game. I already have gameplay of me facing Rank 1's with the new J-Flick. Guess what? I still beat them by choosing my pathing.

You absolutely could fix it by putting a check in place that limits how much the camera can turn in 1 frame. It might not look nice but you could definitely limit it to a fixed angle, but it would only affect those actually performing the exploit and cheating so I'd be fine with a weird fix in place for it.
And no it's absolutely cheating and not intended. You can't compare this to changing sensitivity in CoD it's literally not the same thing at all.
Unless this is a bait posts in which case you got me, if it's not you're just incorrect about all of this.

As ALostPuppy said, you can absolutely make something that checks every frame to make sure the last frame is not more than 90 degrees away from the previous frame. If it is, it snaps the camera to the max of 90 degrees. This would obviously only be during attacks with limited attack angles.

If using third party programmes to gain unintended advantage isn't bannable or wasn't fixed in almost 5 years, then this shouldn't be fixed either.

When we fix that, can we also fix Blight on Console?

@ALostPuppy I was talking about banning the ability to change your mouse settings by using some type of tracking to check everything on your computer for something that ISN'T affecting your files. I never said you couldn't change something in-game. Just that you couldn't ban people for using poll rate changing mouse's since most GAMES including WOW, COD, LOL and others due change the poll rate for more accurate turn rates. It is NOT an exploit nor cheating. It's already been said by a DEV that it wasn't intended, but its NOT cheating nor an exploit since most gaming mouse's allow you to change it anyway. We may differ on opinion but the j-flick doesn't bother me but tell it how it is. It's just something that some people do not like, but calling it CHEATING isn't right. That was my point.
Everyone is finally getting different killers who are rarely seen and throw up arms over something that isn't that strong. Everyone defends Spirit who has 0 tells but the moment a BLIGHT can turn slightly better, we must insta-ban ANYTHING that may make someone play that terrible killer. If you can't beat a BLIGHT because he turns around a corner a little more than come back when you get nothing but Spirits and Nurses like I've been getting for weeks now.

@ScottJund Very true but my argument itself was only about banning poll rate mouse's and trying to add invasive measures to track software that has been in the gaming industry for years and is even a selling point for certain mouse's. That was what my complaint about the entitlement part. By the way, LOVE your videos. Just got finished watching your latest video about competitive/casual play and completely agree with you on that. (Edit: Grammar errors)

I wouldn't be surprised if this fixed this really fast, while ignoring stretched res for yeas. Survivor privilege.

Using a mechanic in an unintended way, or changing settings to achieve unintended results like this IS an exploit. That's like the textbook definition of one, regardless if it's dev-approved or not. You can do it all you want I don't really care, I just don't know why people want to try and convince others that this isn't an exploit when it is.

@ALostPuppy To me it isn't one. Also, I don't even play Blight or Oni except for dailies. They just don't fit my playstyle. Bad taste from the Blight PTB where I kept sliding off of things like a piece of jelly down a wall made me have ill-will towards that killer lol. My point is that polling rate was already HERE before Blight and Oni was designed. That's on the dev's for not thinking that one through. You cannot punish someone for using a higher sensitivity for a game then say its cheating because you don't like it nor say its a mechanic since it isn't. It's just turning up your sensitivity of your mouse.
This is the definition for exploit in gaming: In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.[1] Exploits have been classified as a form of cheating;[citation needed] however, the precise determination of what is or is not considered an exploit can be controversial. This debate stems from a number of factors but typically involves the argument that the issues are part of the game and require no changes or external programs to take advantage of them.
That is NOT an exploit since its just the polling rate of the mouse itself and not a part of the game. Also, here is the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_exploit#:~:text=In%20video%20games%2C%20an%20exploit,intended%20by%20the%20game's%20designers. There you go.

How about fixing cheating with discord? Like if it detects u r using discord with SWF then killer auto gain another 12 perk slots to compensate the unintended advantages that survivors have?
1 -
Yeah lets ban people for talking with friends while playing
big brain time
2 -
Tbf even if this is allowed it’s still makes blight and oni better than they should be(both are very strong anyway) and consoles can’t do it which is a huge problem especially with cross play
1 -
I didn't say ban SWF I said give killer some more perks to compensate SWF's unintended advantages.

@Phasmamain I rarely saw Blight and Oni before this. Also, they could just buff Poll Rate again on Console like they already did from 100% to 200% turning speed. Then both sides would be fine.
1 -
Problem is they are already strong without this unintended feature. Neither need it in their kits and it removes a lot of counterplay they would have normally
0 -
I mean, the sensitivity is already fine.
200% would probably break my thumbs lol
