Chapter 19 Delayed?
Paulie just tweeted this...
Has also been said by the Twitter person that there's no confirmed date.

While I could care less about the new killer, having to wait another week for Wraith's buff and Blight's height sucks
75 -
Interesting. Assuming that's correct, I wonder why? Maybe more killer balance changes in response to feedback?
2 -
Well guess I’m on break a week longer
25 -
We can only hope
5 -
Yeah I'm bummed already. Why the delay?
It's been weeks. This official?
16 -
It's so bizarre though. Like, how did Twins ever make it to launch on time if Trickster didn't? Maybe this is a good sign and they're learning that they need to improve the quality of the patches they release?
47 -
Unfortunate, but if this means some more much needed changes, all the better.
I would rather more delays and a proper product than a rushed release.
35 -
My thoughts exactly
23 -
Why would they wait until literally the day before to have this announced? And not even by themselves officially?
I generally think people are a little harsh on Behaviour, but even I think this is unprofessional and annoying.
73 -
If they are fixing Trickster it will be worth it.
They better be fixing trickster
24 -
I wonder why it takes so long since this chapter doesn’t even have a new map or reworked maps.
15 -
I'm not a fan either; it's kinda cowardly.
However again, if they are fixing trickster, I'll put up with anything. Just fix this killer before going live, listen to the things people have told them about him 1000 times, if they do that I have no issue waiting longer.
13 -
I don't really mind delays, if it's for a refined product in the end. But, oh boy, I'm always annoyed on how Behaviour does everything in the dark. I'm still waiting for news on Open Handed...
8 -
It was never announced by the team officially as releasing tomorrow. And they've said time and time again that things are bound to change, just because it followed a pattern before doesn't mean it will again. People assumed, and maybe partially rightfully so, that it would come out tomorrow, but they never said that.
19 -
If they actually buff trickster then I’m all for this. I did have everything lined up for it but understand. Guess I’ll take a week break entirely then.
1 -
Technicality or not, they're bound to know this, and an official announcement from them in some capacity would be the professional thing to do.
I mean, even one of their fog whispers acknowledges this with his tweet. She was expected "in the fog" this week. Official announcement or not, these are not baseless assumptions.
13 -
I understand your frustration, but no release date was ever mentioned. All they said was "Coming Soon".
Considering the rushed release of the last chapter (even after an additional week delay) was a disaster. It's better to wait for a proper release, despite the disappointment.
5 -
Yeah, I found it pretty odd they hadn't made an official announcement of the launch date yet. Seems like there was a reason for that.
1 -
In the best case the devs are learning from things like the twins. One can hope.
9 -
I would also like to point out that on the PTB there were some critical bugs like the fact Hex Ruin right now just....doesn't work....like at all.
Also you couldn't restock hatchets as huntress, so she was also unplayable.
Like most of them were known issues but I mean, if they are not fixed the update cannot go live lol. Again, I just wish they would START TALKING WITH US like holy cow bhvr hates communication so much.
31 -
I actually agree that it's a great idea to hold off until it's ready.
I'm more miffed about the lack of communication all the way around, as well as using a streamer to effectively "unannounce" it (acknowledging that it was expected, even if it wasn't official to begin with)
6 -
Well let's see because if they half the time dont listen(fog whispers)
why would they be told that the chapter is being delayed
after looking at the twins I'm not sure if it will be delayed
2 -
Aah that blows.
But if it means a better product I'm all for it. Just going to awkwardly dance around max bloodpoints a week longer.
Still a bummer. Was going to use trickster to spend my time untill evil genius 2 releases next week
3 -
BHVR has always elected to not communicate with us whatsoever.
You can't say the "wrong thing" if you never say anything at all =/
12 -
In B4 nothing is fixed...lol
1 -
I hope it's just a joke. If not then as long as the devs are working on making the update better then I'm fine with it being delayed.
1 -
Was really looking forward to it. Oh well.
2 -
I mean there is like no communication, so people are lead to believe whatever. If they paid any attention they would know that people are expecting something on a certain date and could just tell us that it's not happening. They could fix almost all major issues by communicating.....
But again, if they actually FINALLY listen to what people have been telling them and make changes to this update, mainly with the new killer, it will be worth waiting even 2 more weeks if necessary. However long it takes just for the love of god fix this killer BHVR < . >
14 -
Maybe they thought, "Do you know what? Our lovely fans deserve those corn map reworks, let's hold the new chapter release for a little bit so they don't have to wait another three months."
3 -
Even when they say something, people are "led to believe whatever". And if something gets delayed, well, that's borderline apocalyptic. Maybe it's just time to stop assuming stuff in the absence of information.
4 -
They set the general timeframe themselves and created expectation, it's on them if they want to address that or leave it be, but in either situation they are responsible for the outcome and reception that entails.
They also finally did give information, but put it through a fog whisperer where I mean it could be a joke and we wouldn't know, because of their lack of any official word. This only exacerbates the situation further.
Turmoil cause by lack of any effort on their part to communicate whatsoever is still a fault on them in my book; especially because the communication problem with BHVR expands way beyond merely just release dates and into every conceivable aspect and issue within DBD.
26 -
People complain every killer "why did they release the killer in this state!"
Maybe they listened to feedback and are balancing him more.
People complain that the devs use to put up release dates, and then they had to miss those release dates because of certification issues outside of their control with sony and microsoft.
People complained that some systems get DLC before other systems so they tried their best to stop doing that which lead to the above.
People are just never happy
Let me say this really loud for the people in the back:
THE DEVS DON'T COMMIT TO RELEASE DATES BECAUSE PEOPLE BRING OUT THE PITCH FORKS IF THEY DARE MISS THOSE DATES. NOTHING WAS CONFIRMED FOR TOMORROW.
2 -
Is BHVR actually finally learning from their mistakes!? Guess we'll know know in another week, expectations are gonna remain very low though.
0 -
I am honestly hoping they finally listened to the feedback on Trickster (We'll never know though until release, because again, they don't tell us jack all); but I really hope they are adjusting his kit and balancing him better.
If they are doing that, the delay is absolutely worth it no matter how long it takes.
8 -
How can it be "Delayed" if they never published at date to begin with?
4 -
It's quite ridiculous how we have to rely on leakers to tell us this information, don't think it's that hard to make a tweet about this.
8 -
They set the general timeframe themselves and created expectation, it's on them if they want to address that or leave it be, but in either situation they are responsible for the outcome and reception that entails.
They also finally did give information, but put it through a fog whisperer where I mean it could be a joke and we wouldn't know, because of their lack of any official word. This only exacerbates the situation further.
So it's the devs' fault that people hype themselves up and then get disappointed when their 100% self-made expectations are shattered, despite the devs never saying anything, but at the same time any info the devs give through established channels (and yes, that includes FWs) is suspect and unreliable. And if they do say something, they're still to blame if people misunderstand (or blatantly misrepresent) what they said and get hyped. Sounds like catch-22.
Just for the record, you (or the devs, in this case) are not responsible for other people's fabrications in the absence of information. The devs created no expectations because they literally confirmed nothing regarding release dates, that was all on the forumgoers. It's not the devs' responsibility to shoot down every fabricated story, especially when doing so will create the notion that any story they don't shoot down must be real.
2 -
Because people had expectations (based on no information), and thus it's the devs' fault for... something.
2 -
This is exactly my point.
If you want to use the cop out of "we never gave an official date wink wink", don't have a fog whisperer essentially unannounce something you didn't announce to begin with.
That's just messy and confusing for everyone, both in it's language and in the source it's coming from.
17 -
I have to agree, not the DEVs fault for your expectations ( and I'm usually quite negative to the dev's)
2 -
Who used the word "delayed", though? The FW didn't use it. The devs didn't use it. It was OP. All the FW said was "it's not coming out tomorrow".
0 -
But by the logic you're using, nobody should have assumed it was to begin with, so why have anyone say anything at all? Oh right, because there were understandable expectations.
You can argue whether people SHOULD have expectations or not, but this is them acknowledging it in weird, roundabout way. And that's what makes it confusing.
12 -
No one said anything of that sort; now you are just reaching for false narratives.
The fact remains these issues could be solved with clear communication; without the need for actual release dates even. There are plenty of games and developers that don't give release dates because it's generally risky and can cause problems and disappoint people.
However they don't attract ire or upset people because they are still forward about what is happening. It's not hard to say "We are currently still developing the 4.6.0 update, however based on user feedback and internal testing coupled with PTB we have found that there is still more work to be done than originally anticipated. Please bear with us and stand by, we will update you further when we are ready and have more information on the update and it's intended release"
No release date given, yet most ire completely mitigated except for the unreasonable few. People are generally pretty understanding; but our sources of information shouldn't be left to only be guesses and estimations; that just breeds confusion and contempt.
It's not even leaking really it's them giving someone else the go ahead to tell people....maybe...I mean did they? We don't know, we can't know for sure. It's not first hand; but apparently they are able to actually say something themselves but still are not? Why is that? It's just so unnecessarily confusing for no real reason.
9 -
And that's why the devs no longer communicate with us as much as they did when the game was released. We used to have weekly streams where we got to shoot the ######### with them and people complained. Now they only give out release dates and such when they're a certainty, and people still complain. Worse, they try to make them out to be the bad guys because they can't control their own imaginations.
I mean, if people are going to complain whether you do something or not, then you might as well do nothing, save yourself the trouble. They're gonna complain either way, but you get more free time that way.
4 -
Nobody forced the FW to say anything, though. The FW asked if they could say it, and the devs said yes. You're reading too much into it, like the devs specifically ordered this FW to tweet this.
No release date given, just heavily implied that tomorrow would've been the release date anyway. And people would still complain, because they'd still perceive it as a delay (for proof, see this entire thread).
The fact that you don't know isn't what's causing your confusion, it's the fact that you're trying to guess what you don't know instead of focusing on the data that is actually available.

I stopped believing this with Cyberpunk 2077
8 -
CP2077 was rushed, though. The devs (not the people in charge of PR, but the actual coders and such) said so themselves. And it's still a great game.
1 -
Community interaction and information is part of their job as a big modern gaming company. That they dont give any information or release dates in advance is a flaw in itself and originales from bad time management. If they would know what they are doing, they could give valuable information a week in advance. Like for example no release next week because of ... or estimated release on... before that.
4 -
I can’t even with this today. I’ll stop by in one of tomorrow’s pity party topics and piss and moan with the rest of the normal people who were expecting the new chapter.
