Where are all the pc players?
Nothing but console users.
Lobby after lobby after lobby of console users with f tier ping causing the game to bug out and hit detection to be wildly unfair for me! as the killer at 20 ping.
The ability to turn cross play off is a placebo. They knew this when they made it opt out instead of opt in because the console survivors had nobody to play against.

High ping favoring survivors is an old thing, not sure if it was gone in early 2018 or 2019, but it is really long gone now.
If they have high ping, it only favors you.
So if you cannot hit a survivor who is connected to McDonald's wifi, that may be on you. Sorry.
To answer your question. I see mostly pc survivors on red ranks, barely any console ones.

Yeah.. its on me that grabs get cancelled and a point blank hit to the face phases through the survivor and my camera spazzes out while they are at full health. totally ME not the game at all.
A killer with 1000 ping is at an advantage but when it is the other way around the survivor has the advantage.

Playing Valheim.
There's honestly better games out there.
Valheim just released an update. Poggers
Also, back into Warframe.

PC users peak is around 35k/40k every day.
Most of the playerbase is on console i guess, there are way more users on consoles on every game (even Battlefield, Battlefront or Call of Duty - like 10 times more...) so with crossplay activated, you have a playerbase composed of 1/10 PC players.
That's why you meet way more console players.

Grabs are another thing, not directly tied to survivors ping.
It will cuck you no matter what their ping is. Been like that for a year or two. Actually, the higher their ping is the better chance of you actually grabbing them.

At Red Rank as both Killer and Survivor, I see nothing but PC players (I'm on console). Immediate matches when I'm playing killer, with almost everyone in the lobby being on PC every match. As Survivor, the PC killers far outweigh the console ones. Just my own experience.

What about aim dressing? Anything 70 and above causes it to suck you into walls instead of hitting survivors. Is that my fault to?
0 -
I have to disagree with this. I remember hitting high ping survivors few times, hearing sound of them being hit and they ended up not being hit, so...

How do you know their PC? Crossplay icon shows up even on different consoles
0 -
No, that is the aim assist (or aim dressing if you wish to call it like that) that cucks you when attacking survivors next to objects or around corners/thin walls.
It's been like that since release, we all complained. Devs first said aim assist doesn't exist, then that it is aim dressing, then they are looking into making it less cuckable and now it is in perpetual "We are looking into it".
Dunno why you brought it here, it has nothing to do here, as it is a client side assist.
And when did that happen?
The only time seeing anything similar to it was tests of hit feedback and me throwing a hatchet into a survivor who dead hoarded and it was just blood particles and hit sound that confused me..

I'm assuming they're PC. You're right -- other console players would also show up with the icon. I usually go off of user names -- consoles (at least Sony) don't let you get as ... err ... creative ... as PC players are apparently allowed to be, lol.

As @ChiSoxFan11 said, as a PC player you see other PC players without any icon, console users have that globe icon.
Exception being Windows Store users who play on PC. But there are only 3 of them. Those three guys also have crossplay icon.
About the names, well, we can use whatever name we want, as it uses steam's current nickname that can be changed at will. Even if someone else uses it, hence you may find a lobby with 4 same looking survivors who also have the same name.

All PC players are prob in my survivor lobbies... I used to get 2PCv2Console but now I hardly see any console player :D And I do play on EU and with friends on NA, same result so maybe I stole them all. :D

Yeah you get robbed grabs by lagging survivors 100%. You see them teleport too if their ping is jittering bad. They need to add interpolation of movement for lagging survivors so you can hit them without issues and make it so the server calculated all hits exclusively. Therefore if you have the best ping you will hit every grab every hit etc.
Vice versa too, if you're high ping killer and get those hits through windows and pallets. They don't count.
It's how all other dedicated server pvp games do it.

Because console typically meets the requirement to trigger it. High ping.

Turn crossplay off. You're going to get mega sweats and comp players on PC cross off at red ranks, but it's still a much better experience.
0 -
But I already told you that aim assist is client side (hitting walls instead of survivors) .
So how does ping goes into the equation here?
0 -
I had one of them fluctuate between 30ish and 500 ping. My character kept rubber banding randomly during the match and they would look like they ran past pallets, only to float back and and drop it on me after i had already fully passed through it.

I never get it against anyone with decent ping. i always check when it happens and it always that guy at 70+ It is ping related

Yes that's correct. It's a survivor client hit registration. That's also why Head On works even if you're miles from the locker.
This is an integrity issue. You can't really lower your ping once your network is routed correctly. You can however add ping time as you please. Adding ping gives an advantage to killer hits and those survivor interactions (pallets, head on, flashlight saves and also grabs even though it's technically the killer doing it).

Shut down cross play!!!
So everyone can go back to playing with their own kind.
because the console survivors had nobody to play against.
I'm a console player and I had no problem finding matches before cross play on either side
0 -
I do that sometimes, and I always face the same player and my teammates are also always the same.
Like there are only four other players around.

When I'm playing with console players as killer I just love it because they r such potatos, so ez to kill, free win :)
0 -
Well there's the fact that more people play on console in general and the fact that there are technically 5 other platforms that are considered cross-play. The chances of you finding another Steam player when there are players to pull from Switch, Xbox, PS5, Windows Store, and Stadia is rare.

I get about 50/50 on Xbox when it comes to Crossplay survs, whether I'm in a group or not. The killer is nearly always showing a globe for me.
As killer the survs have globes until evening, when many more on Xbox join.

How do you know they are PC? The globe icon shows for other console platforms too.

I've been playing other games since the shut downs started.
Few years ago I bought a nice gaming pc so I only play console games to keep in touch with friends who don't have PCs.
Phoenix Point came out on steam last Dec. It's okay. I enjoy it because I'm a XCOM fan.
Doom Eternal released their part 2 of dlc. Was okay. Too short.
Last year I bought a PS4 just for the FF7 reboot. I was a playstation guy until xbox 360 came out. My brother assumed is get a ps3 so he bought a xbox 360 so we could play those games. I bought him Gears of War and after playing coop split screen with him, I switched consoles. Been playing some playstation games I missed out on. Like god of war 3 and the reboot, Last of Us, Bloodborne, Until Dawn. I just checked PSNow. Just finished 3 of the 4 Sly Cooper games. Might do another playthrough on Bloodborne.
I'm waiting for Evil Genius 2, Darktide, Hell Architect and Humankind to come out. Someone needs to reboot Legacy of Kain or remaster Soul Reaver.

If i see players with names like "I'm Sexy and I Noed" or "Hex: Depression" then i'll assume they are PC players 👀

Could be dedicated DBD fans.
