Is poised a good perk?

I'm trying to find a perk to be stealthy more. I'm thinking about using the perk poised. Is it good or should I find another one?

No. Use dance with me or deception to hide scratchmarks

I find a combination of Poised and Sprint Burst works wonders. Finish a gen and be gone before the killer comes to check the area, all without leaving scratch marks - this confuses killers like crazy and makes them check the area for several seconds (since they think you're hiding somewhere nearby). Furthermore, with the right timing (usually requires SWF), you can even get rid of your scratch marks at crucial moments.

Poised is really situational and you won't usually have an immense amount of control over when it activates, plus it can only be used up to 5 times in a trial. If you're okay with that, then you might enjoy it.

Otherwise, I second trying out Dance With Me or Deception instead. They give you more control over their effects, can be used far more frequently, and make for pretty good combo pieces in other builds.

It's pretty decent but highly inconsistant.

No scratchmarks for 10 seconds can really confuse killers at certain tiles. Especially with poised not being run very often.

Problem is you don't choose when this happens. You just have to hope a generator gets popped at a crucial time.

It's a perk that when it works it works well. But don't expect it to work every match

It can be really good on swf, having friends wait to pop a gen till the poised user says so, used right you can vanish mid chase.

outside of that, its too situational.

I love this idea. My only problem with it is it sounds like a gen monkey kind of strategy lol

Which I mean hey, I like to do that sometimes. Being that one person that never gets found all match and does all the gens constantly is powerful.

I still recommend Dance With Me + Lithe + Quick and Quiet for a simple Houdini build if you want something tried and true. Throw in Iron Will and you'll be a true magician

Very bad, only useful if the Killer is not chasing someone, decides to go after the gen you finished and he is less than 10 seconds away (in which case he will probably see you anyway) or if he is chasing you, you LoS and a gen pops in that moment.

Too situational to be worth of anything, if you want to hide your marks better use Dance With Me or Lightweight.

The idea it's nice, but in reality it's awful for the following reason:

-Only 5 times used (maybe not even that)

-Only get use out of it if ure getting chased in that moment

-The killer can still see u if he has line of sight, so u would need to prepare in advance for it (and u never know when ur solo teammates r going to finish a gen)

    -Relies on teammates doing gens

-If ure injured and u don't have iron will then it won't do anything

There's probably more drawbacks but that's all I could think of.

Then again, u can make some (very situational) fun builds, like combine it with Adrenaline. If ure getting chased when there's 1 gen left and they complete the last one, the killer will most likely lose u.

U could also combine it with sprint Burst and dark sense, it's fun to use when ure the one finishing the gen and sprint bursting away from the killer without leaving scratch marks.

I'm thinking about making a build around poised.

    Vigil

    Poised

    Sprint burst

    And spine chill/technician/self care.

    What is your build?

I'm currently experimenting with Diversion and Red Herring, but my stealth gen jockey build is:

    • Inner Strength (just because it's an amazing perk, though I may swap it with something more gen-related)
    • Dark Sense
    • Poised
    • Sprint Burst

Not really it's very situational. You could use it with sprint burst to get from gen to gen really quick, but that's all about it.
