OG dbd streamers slowly moving away...
Any1 else noticing the amount of OG dbd streamers moving away from the game? Is it purely beeing bored or is the game even more then never focused on NEW players. I watch a few them but i dont watch enough to come up with aclear reason.
It is concerning if you're not able to keep ppl interested that help you build dbd what it is today.

What streamers are you seeing move away?
It's still doing pretty well with streamers such as Tofu, Otz, Scott, Zubat etc. Hell even TydeTyme is back.
Only streamers I've seen move away is Fungoose, but he still plays more often than not

You'll notice most of them made the decision to move away when the DS nerf was announced and confirmed. (except for ANGRYPUG, who doesn't need DBD).
It's almost as if without their cocky offensive DS plays, their content isn't nearly as entertaining.

Morf, Vinc3ntvega,Cahlaflour, Angrypug.. just to name a few
Oh and Otz play Chess when he can, Zubat played Wow before that got bored and i dont watch Ohtofu sadly

Ds is not even such a big deal, I don’t get why people despise it so much. It’s literally 1 hard skill check that’s available once per match. Some many counter plays around it.
1 -
One thing you'll see as well - everyone leaving, with the exception of someone like ANGRYPUG who, love him or hate him, has a brilliant mind for the business of streaming (he's built his name on more than just DBD), will be back.
The fact is - Cahla, Vinc3nt, Morf, Tofu, basically everyone stepping away, have no real audience without DBD. Nobody wants to watch them play a different game. Hence why their view counts (numbers mean EVERYTHING) plummet when they aren't playing DBD. DBD is part of the package people followed/subbed for. Take that away, the package is incomplete.

The only experience I have with them is Angrypug, and even then it's fairly negative (Rough quote was "I don't give a ######### about other people while playing, I'm here for my fun")
This might just push people onto watching others. And tbh I'm happy for those streamers to move onto things they enjoy more while streamers with barely double digit views get some extra watchers. And in the end there are still a LOT of streamers with 1000+ watchers on their daily dbd streams.

There's no counterplay to current DS.
Slugging is not a counterplay. "Not tunneling" isn't a counterplay when they're fully healed and doing a gen in your face with DS still available. Everything you said will only be true when the nerf happens.
0 -
Oh thank god... Not naming but at least one of them is (no offense)
3 -
How many matches as killer do you get a fully healed survivor doing a gen and you Down/grab them and you still get hit with DS?
Yess slugging is 100% a counter player against DS as it works!

Which is something that is sadly limiting when being a streamer

Unfortunately, you see a lack of business sense or business foresight way too often in the industry. And all too often, I see Streamers who are so obviously bored with a game that even their facial expressions show they'd rather be playing something else. The problem they have is that they built their channel brand around a single game, and attempting to change that loses them revenue.
Worse is when they build it around a single game, and then for whatever reason the game takes a dive off a cliff and loses players (and therefore viewers) at some point and becomes a shell of what it was.
Variety streaming takes longer to build, and also takes something entertaining to offer than just the simple "look at how good I am at this one game!" to succeed. Which, unfortunately, a majority of streamers simply cannot pull off. They don't have the on-air personality for it. But, variety streaming offers better overall longevity.

THats why I would do rather then just one game, but a multiple plethora of them

Exactly. Now, I'm 48 years old. I've been in the entertainment industry for 30 years, primarily as an author, but also in tabletop games, video games, TV, and comics. I have fans that know I play games like DbD, Overwatch, Paladins, and others. They want me to stream.
I'm lucky that my platform would start with at least a small following and be variety from the start per request. However . . . I am 48 years old. I'm not going to start a Streaming business platform at this stage in my life.
2 -
Your as old as my dad, yeah streaming now a days that age would be pretty hard
0 -
I feel bad for those people who played the game for so long. But they gotta pay the bills somehow and for a lot of them viewership just drops when they start to stream variety
0 -
Yep. I mean, there are older people who do it, such as Stream_Dad for DbD, but we're few and far between. Video game streaming is a young person's game because the key demographic for it is teenagers to around 32 or so. They want to watch people their own age play whatever game.
Only streaming I do is concerning my writing or the business end of my industry. I often do short videos for fans on book progress, and to fellow authors on business advice and tips.

I'm actually an author who is currently writing a short story I guess we could grow to know each other

if you stop playing dbd because of the ds nerf you abused a crutch and its going to be taken away. See ya!

I don't really watch streamer so I wouldn't notice. The last chapter was awful and the next one isn't very inspiring either. I can't blame them for moving on.
0 -
I honestly don't blame them for taking a break. I can't even stomach 4+ games in a row, much less 7 hours of it. Every. Day.

They are not leaving entirely, they are just not into dbd like they used to be. I would say that for some the dbd is not their main game anymore

In before this thread gets closed removed and see some of you beautiful people who I enjoy reading post by get a time out in jail.
Very brave statements very proud of those that have spoke up will be very said to see you in jail as a result.
Funny tho you can have a huge forum post bashing belittling certain streamers but mention certain ones and they get removed and people jailed just saying 🤷🏻♀️

Otz playing chess doesn't mean he quits dbd
He doesn't play only dbd either, he has made tons of pubg videos and a pokemon walkthrough as well.
Oh yeah, forgot the dark souls I think...I'm not sure can someone confirm it?

Playing as killers with OHDs, It happens a lot.

I never said he quits dbd, im a sub to otz. I was just stating in general that OG streamers are less and less treaming dbd as their main. I just stated that OTZ is playing chess once in a while thats all

Yeah no idea why the bashing is coming in, it went from DS to bashing and all i wanted from this thread was more in depth info on why some are moving away from the game.

A hard skill check isint that hard when you get to try it a few times the original ds skill check was way smaller that this one it was maybe 1/3of the size of current ds.
Ehh the skill check isint the important part though

Yea every time tru3 is brought up its always negative and "their community is brainwashed by him"
But then Scot is brought up and we love him he could probably say ds should just be reverted and some people would agree with him.
Tru3 is cockey but I haven't seen him been entirely wrong about somethings also he thinks different than other streamers
Like the tru and otz debate both brought up very interesting topics and had confusion about certain things and at the end they started to understand each other

There are many good streamers like dowsey, yerv, Scott still streaming and uploading videos. Why would anybody watch those small pp build flash light clicking tbaggers? If I see any streamer using small pp build I won't watch him because I know he must be so bad that he need so many 2ed chance perks. Honesty if find survivor streaming always boring because playing as survivor is so unchallenging while your team knows what to do , all u need to do is loop and waste killer's time if he come to u and they're many good loops that can waste killer lots of time. Dowsey made some hardcore survivor video using a rank 20 account solo surviving challenge and I find it much more fun than red rank.

Don’t know why the bashing is allowed to remain up. But I assume just lack of interest, it became too easy, no more love for a game they spent thousands of hours over the past 5 years playing. I know Angrypug isn’t leaving but IMO his viewcount is still high even when he’s not playing dbd. Some have diversified their portfolio in terms of why people watch. Some have stayed glued to dbd. Others like Angrypug have always been more of a personality watch rather than gameplay. When I watch him I don’t do it for his gameplay but just because I find his interactions with his chat funny. With Otz I enjoy more gameplay, with tru3 it’s also his gameplay and overall takes on the game.
tl;dr It’s hard to remain interested in a game over 5 years when it’s gotten easier and easier to play and hasn’t substantially changed the gameplay loop. This leads to trying different things.

Do you mind sharing your twitch/yt? I've been trying to follow more writers who are in the industry
0 -
Very true sorry about that in all honesty I can only speculate as I don't know thier personal reasons maybe drop in a stream and ask them politely?
It could possibly be that the game isn't really changing new killers surviours are good but soon gets boring again. There has been no new maps for awhile no changes to the core mechanics sinse end game collapse. I'm sure playing this game full time for streams can be tiresome after so many hours and years of playing.
