Matchmaking Times
Hey there!
So I play on Xbox, and I've noticed that for the last week or so, wait times are insanely long. I have crossplay enabled, but I waited for 20 minutes between matches the other night. I only ended up playing 3 games and I played for almost an hour and a half.
Is this happening to anyone else?

Tbh, matchmaking times are not based on how many survivors or killers there are.

I just think it's weird how long I'm waiting all of a sudden.

What are they based on then?

Yes they are, please don't spread false information. Thank you.
Matchmaking times are decided entirely on firstly if there are enough survivors or killers in the appropriate ranking range; and then on if there are enough at all to just pull from other ranks to make the matches happen.
This is both evident as well as confirmed by the developers themselves on multiple occasions.
What that person said was incorrect.

Matchmaking times depend on the amount of players on each side. If survivors have long queues, then there are not enough killers. If killers have long queues, then there are not enough survivors.
So just switch to the side with the shorter queue.

for me on console i tend to get into games with a killer quicker than being a survivor unless i have a full team with me or play with my two friends.

I think they were going for something like "matchmaking times are based on killer/survivor ratio and not what number the steam player count says " but I mean... the ratio depends and how many are playing each side.

Oh not me. Wait times are half of the reason I don't play Killer.

throw a movie on while you game, and i use like some games where it requires me to wait, i find something i can do in the meanwhile, just do anything during the wait time.
