How come my rank changed after I closed my application on ps4, returned and my rank was wrong?

i am a rank 3 survivor on dead by daylight on ps4 and I played a game finally reaching rank 3 switched over to killer played a game as leatherface, closed my application 2 minutes later after clicking back onto the cane wanting to play some more I’m rank for with only 3 bips after I just recieved the 2 bips to get rank 3. Why did this happen?

    Happened to me a few days ago as well. I lost 2 pips for no reason when i started the game again.
