10 matches playing as Trickster
So I was super stoked to play trickster. I like his power, looks, everything. I figured once I got some games in his power would come to fruit. Boy was I wrong.
I stopped playing after 10 games because I just got tired of struggling for downs every single game.
You might as well not even use the knives at all. The only time I could make use for them was when I zoned survivors at unsafe loops where I could throw knives over the loop or if I was pretty much already in m1 range. Using them in the open is ok as long as you're absolutely sure they can't make it to a loop by the time you hit them 8 times.
Using knives slows you down which is dumb since they aren't lethal like hatchets.
The recoil is just stupid which makes any throws at more than 10 or so meters pointless.
Knives hit progress also goes away. This is a HUGE waste of time for you if your target gets body blocked or lithe away or whatever.
Since you can't really use knives effectively, you have to rely on m1 hits which is TORTURE on an 110 % killer. It's basically playing huntress or death slinger without using ranged attacks.
I may be beating a dead horse here but this killer needs some serious buffs or he's going to be best buddies with the twins in no-play limbo. Which is a shame because I think he's got a lot of good potential.

Buildings that have windows are pretty much strong against him, he's to slow to catch up and his knives are so useless and inconsistent.

He's like the other side of the coin on Twins: Twins are an ugly killer model that lacks any aesthetic coolness, has a lame backstory, and is utterly devoid of anything that makes a slasher compelling; BUT the obvious playstyle for Twins is slugging, one survivors hate to play against. Trickster has style oozing from every pore, looks great, has a great backstory, and makes perfect sense as a slasher; BUT the obvious playstyle is trying to get knife hits, which is so outrageously awful and easy to evade that survivors are going to love every minute of it.
Both bad and not all that appealing for killer players, but for different reasons. Nobody gives a crap about some poor, victimized French peasant who's just misunderstood; but nobody wants to play a competitive game wearing training weights.

I thought there was no way bhvr would release a killer as bad as twins. I was sorely mistaken.

Without sounding like a cynic and I say this without a hint of sarcasm
I really hope people keep making threads like this

They should make the USB addon basekit. The one that reduces the amount of knives hits to down someone. That addon is a must, the base amount of knives required its a joke.

This was about the same as me. After multiple games I got a grand total of 1 down/hook. Yippee. I won’t be using him ever again once I’ve unlocked his perks for Clown.

Me too. I want him to be better and just felt I would share my experience.

The ONLY time I saw him be effective is proxy camping hooks and just unloading on an unhooker while they are locked in animation. So another killer whose strength is camping wheeeeee.

These are some potential changes I think could help. Not saying they should do all of them, maybe just 1 or 2, but he needs some changes:
1 - 115% not 110%
2 - Making main event more like Oni's where the power bar is always full until you activate it, and when it's deactivated you save whatever power was remaining.
3 - change the number of required blade hits from 8 to 5 or 6.
4 - Remove laceration decay and either make survivors have to remove the blades themselves, or make it permanent and non-removable like ghost face's stalk.

Twins are actually powerful if u play like a super villian lol.

it will take them 9 month to a year to actually make changes to him. in that time everyone will forget about him, and he will sit in killers pantry wasting away.

I don’t see a point in the knives. It seems pointless to use them unless you’re in M1 range. Survivors can dodge them very easily. Am I really supposed to play him as a 110% M1 Killer?

If you're at anything other than a low wall loop then yes

Yes I am all for this. Also, addong remove the slow downs for throwing to the list.

That's exactly why I don't play them. Hell I havnt even bought them with shards and have no intention to because I know how stupid it is to play against them as survivor.

I played some 7 games and I just feel I did so much for so little, I would be better playing bamboozle Nurse the whole time.
He had everything to be one of the coolest Killers in the game, his lore, design, personality, talking and jiggling during the trial, a nice mori.
His playstyle doesn't fit with the game speed, which is Survivors rushing gens speed. That's just it, he needs massive changes.
