Tunneling is worse than ever!
Don't get me wrong tunneling is necessary sometimes , but with the new D's nerf , ever game I've played as survivor today (mostly for time) everybody's been tunneled to death, pleas make it so there allways an obsession so the tunneling problem goes down more

Pls answer me a question, why is it suddenly such a hassle to have one of the for survivor equipping a obsession perk?
Ds still fulfills it's Antitunnel roles while not making progressing the game without care possible.
And pls don't tell me that the survivor player suddenly are benevolent to relent to the killer whining and stopped using ds out of kindness. It simply isn't as powerful and usable omnipotent as before and yes they could put healing back into it but maybe not straight under the hook.
And now to a point which will make this whole "pls give us obsession claws everytime even without a perk" useless in the long-term. I assume the sudden new problem with the missing obsession stems from survivor no longer being content with using ds.
So if the devs implement the allpresent obsession and the survivor no longer running ds why do you assume the killer will tunnel less when they know that the survivor don't want to use ds to get an obsession in the much less having it to fight off hook tunneling?

its not, stop being silly
13 -
I still have yet to meet these tunnelers everyone speak of. Basically all red ranks games I've had with this new update were with near no tunneling/camping as they were before the update.
And in the few cases where tunneling happened, it was mostly due to survivors running at killer and getting owned.
20 -
It happens pretty often rn, I've had 7/10 of the games have tunneling, only seen 1 trickster tho a shame tbh
3 -
Camping not so much anymore but tunneling ohhhh yes every single night I play. Just because the killer stands a few more feet out waiting for the unhook just to go after the same survivor...this is still tunneling lol. That is what is going on every single damn night I play and I am a red rank survivor. It is battle every single night to keep from depiping and de-ranking simply because a killer didnt like a pallet stun or a chase so he tunnels me.

I haven't played survivor very much in the last couple of months so I've deranked back into the teens. Every match I've played I've been tunneled. I guess it comes with the low rank of inexperienced killers. It is incredibly boring. So yes it still is happening. It didn't happen nearly as much at purple or red ranks.

Like if there one gen done and like 2 hooks I'm like "okay this tunneling makes sense" but then when they do it when there's still five gens idk what to say anymore
0 -
There are very few instances where tunneling is "okay" like when 3 gens done in the first min or two of the game and the killer is getting worked. But then again killer mains have just told me when I was starting this game,,"You dont like getting tunneled then git good" LOL. Like being good has anything to do with avoiding tunneling. I still dont understand why killer mains dont take their own advice?? Get good and stop those gens and the progress??? Why is advice good only one way?
2 -
You don't speak for somebody else's experience. I personally haven't seen a killer tunnel more than 1 game today but that could be different for others.
4 -
Why are Survivors allowed to play their objectives however makes sense to them, yet you want to tell killers how to play theirs?
To be tunneled means you lost 4 chases in a row. What skill is the killer not showing there? Where are your teammates to help take the heat off of you?
10 -
If you're annoyed about the tunneling, running DS is what I'd do. It's in my main build now.
Tip: If there is no obsession, the killer is more likely to tunnel. Running DS makes it so that there is an obsession.
3 -
Survivors are dicks to I'm a killer main (twins) but the tunneling is just as bad as those click clicky flashlighter , D's abusers, or pallet camping Jane's, especially when it's done for no reason
1 -
Tunneling is never done "for no reason" it's done to get 1 of 4 Survivors out if the game as quickly as possible to help the killer win.
The behaviours you want to compare it to don't complete or forward game progression for their side, but the killers entire job is to kill you. The Survivors literally are his objective. Tunneling helps complete his only real objective. If you get kicked off a gen that's 50% complete, do you run across the map to find one that hasn't been touched yet, or do you return to the one you had halfway done? 1v3 is much easier to win than 1v4 is, as long as that is the case, tunneling in some form will exist. It isn't personal, it's the math of the game.

Match 1: as Meg (Speed build: Lithe, Fixate, Urban, Tenacity) vs Doctor.
Get hit, Lithe, Get hit -> 1st hook.
Get unhooked, Teammate takes hit, Get hit -> Saved with flash light, Get hit -> 2nd hook. (didnt have chance to use Lithe)
Get unhooked, Lithe , Get hit -> 3rd hook.
Lucky the last Gen almost done by the other 2 survivors. 3 escape.
Match 2: as Clau (Heal build: Autodidact, WGLF, Botany, Empathy) vs Pyramid head
Get hit, Get hit -> 1st hook (no Torment)
Get unhooked, Teammate takes hit, Get hit -> 2nd hook (had Torment)
Get unhooked, BorrowedTime, Get hit -> Final judgment
Lucky other 3 survivors almost done the 4th Gen. Then they escape through hatch with key.
Not every game I was able to survive this long.
The only way for another teammate to take heat off of a tunneled one. Is to body blocking, taking double hit, forcing killer to picking teammate to hook. Tunneler will tunnel no matter what. The help from teammate can only prolong the chase killer on me, not giving a chance to self healing.

So both matches listed here your team won. What exactly is the issue? You're winning and still want to dictate how the other side plays?
I just think it's ridiculous. There is no other pvp game where one team feels like they can tell the other how to play. If I'm on the Overwatch forums and say "hey, don't focus fire the support until the payload is at least at 50%" I would be laughed out of the forum, yet here Survivor mains (because people who play both sides know better) consistently seem to believe they can tell killers who to kill and in what order.
9 -
Dude I'm Litterly a killer main, both sides complain about the other side
0 -
Rank 1 survivor here. Based on my games yesterday the tunneling was rampant in the majority of them. The killers were constantly bee lining straight after the one who came off hook. Even when four or five gens were still standing.
I am hoping this is a temporary thing in reaction to the DS nerf. Because yesterday was the worst I've seen tunneling in a long time.
6 -
So you play both sides, and still think one side should be restricted with fake rules on how they play? Why?
Yeah, both sides complain on the forum, that's what game forums are, complain zones. What does that have to do with whether or not killers should use a tactic the devs have repeatedly said is valid?
5 -
The issue was I had no relieve moment to breath. After all Im just a casual player. Have a chase, do a Gen, a unhook, a Totem, then may be a chase and die. Get constant chase makes the tense too high.

Tunneling is if the Killer is ignoring easier targets and goes after one specific survivor.
Going by that definition how many times have you been tunneled?
2 -
Me personally only 2/7 of the games that there's been tunneling, but my teammates the rest of the games, right as they got off the hook they were chased down I tried running bt but that didn't stop them
0 -
If being chased is that stressful, maybe Survivor isn't for you, or perhaps you are at a rank that is not commiserate with your skill level.
Going back to my earlier comparison, I don't find much fun in constantly running back from the spawn point in Overwatch, I play support to heal people, not just run from the enemy, but sometimes that's just the game.

to get mad at someone spamming a flashlight to the same as a killer tunneling then idk what you are on because its way different
number 1 when survivors does that they are wasting their own flashlight charges... charges that could have been used to blind you when you carrying someone
number 2 if you are soo pissed at a flashlight there are perks for that good ones at that light born or franklin's are 2 examples
number 3 when a killer tunnels they go after the weakest one they just got off a hook and when that person dies or D/C its a 3v1 and a 3v1 is a whole lot harder than a 4v1 so even if they only tunnel one person it still gives a huge advantage
3 -
i get that there are time where tunneling is needed I'm talking about tunneling when the game just started and there are still 5 gens left
1 -
If the kiler is able to tunnel a survivor out completely before a single gen is done, I have to wonder what the other 3 Survivors were doing that whole time. 4 chases, 3 carries to hook, that's a decent amount of time, definitely enough to finish at least one gen.
3 -
Just run ds if you are tunneled all the time
3 -
We killer players may tunnel you if we need immediate pressure as it is one of the few ways to get survivors off generators
2 -
I agree with you
0 -
play killer then
2 -
It is strategy. Same as you "tunnel" gen. Okay?
Why don't you do the gens equally? If you don't like tunneling, you have to do like that. Okay?
6 -
Nothing has changed. If you run DS now and get tunneled, it is the same as before when tunneled. Nothing you do in chase cancels the effect.
3 -
I played a lot yesterday and I mean a lot and only 1 single game didn’t have an obsession.
I tunneled 2 survivors (Across 2 separate games) and both times they used DS against me.
I haven’t noticed any difference and the perk is still doing its job
2 -
every since they nerfed ds no one uses it I never used ds all it does was piss off the killer even more ,
borrowed time requires a team mate to have the perk not everyone will have it
Camping doesn't help a killer but Proxy Camping does there are most likely 1-2 gens near the survivor when they are hooked the killer could rotate but still be near to the survivor when they get hooked and some killers could even skip the camping part Hag could put traps near there (some hag builds don't require you to set them off to teleport to them) and the twins Charlotte usually stays by the survivor while victor is roaming the map when some one gets the survivor she goes back to Charlotte.
0 -
you have to keep in mind that killers proxy camp someone unhooks and the killer immediately goes after the survivor sometimes its not even 10 seconds of a hook. when a survivor is hooked that's 3 people on gens then someone has to save the survivor so its 2 people on a gen and some survivors are not in a team so there are times where multiple survivors stop what the are going to unhook so no-one is on a gen
0 -
If nobody takes DS, yeah the Killer doesn't have any DS to fear. But this is a negative feedback loop created by the people claiming that DS sucks now "so don't take it." It is nonsense of course, but enough people threw a hissy and haven't been taking it so now there is no Obsession and the Killer knows there is no DS. :)
The simple fix is the system should always create an Obsession whether there is an Obsession Perk or not, or someone on the team simply needs to take DS or some OTHER Obsession Perk.
4 -
DS should be buffed to multiple (so 2) uses. I'm saying this as someone who doesn't use the perk.
0 -
That's why I bring Kindred. Most underrated perk in the game.
As for proxy camping? If he's watching the hook he's not patrolling gens. If you unhook someone and know the killer is there and don't have BT, the least you can do is take the protection hit so your teammates live.
And yes, I'm aware that sometimes you get crap teammates who will farm you, unfortunately there isn't a fix for that that doesn't punish everyone else.
4 -
If the killer beelines straight for them then DS will still do it's job so it's a really bad play for the killer.
Personally I haven't seen an increase in tunneling, some days its bad some days its not so bad thats how dbd works. But for me as killer I have seen survivors bring DS every game but one.
2 -
I do, rank 1-3 on average twins main
0 -
Are the people getting tunneled wearing decisive strike?
In my experience, no.
Everyone ditched it and now they're actually tunneled where it legit still would've protected them. People stopped using (which is a really bad idea when it still represents a free end-game escape potentially) and killers know it.
EVERYONE can't eject it from their build immediately and still expect the fear of DS to do the job for you.

I dont like to play killer and I worry a little for those who truly love ,,,I mean LOVE playing killer lol. Some of you killer mains love it so much you keep slashing players on the hook after they are dead??? Also, I find killer mains are the biggest babies who cry when they dont win 50 out of 50 games. I make the argument that killers win way to much,,,I have yet to see these longggggg string of swf victories that they keep complaining about.
1 -
First, I play solo so I have no one helping me so there goes that argument. Plus, I rarely stay on the same gen because of killer pressure,,,you know the way the game is meant to be. When a killer hooks one survivor because they didnt like how we pallet stunned them or lead them on a long chase so they tunnel like its cool. I cant kill a killer theres a big difference. Tunneling is lazy game play to remove someone,,plus its kind of stupid because I will struggle on the hook (where I normally do not ever) simply to waste the tunnel/camping killer while gens are being done around them,,,so it really makes no sense to tunnel or camp for both sides.

Define tunneling. More and more, I've noticed that the how the survivors use the term has broadened beyond the actual behavior people found annoying. Are you talking about immediately chasing a survivor off of the hook even when the unhooker is there to take agro, or are you talking about the killer chasing an injured survivor a little bit of time after the hook because the survivor decided to rush his objective instead of getting healed first? The former is not impacted at all. The only way it could is if a bunch of idiots on the killer side saw "DS Nerf" and didn't read the patch notes showing that DS still very much punishes their play style. The latter isn't tunneling.
The only killers that aren't impacted are the ones whom didn't tunnel, but aggressive survivors decided to hook bomb with an active DS and BT.
Way to completely misrepresent killer mains. Kind of toxic and ignorant.
1 -
Yes that's about right it has gotten so bad that I only play with my friends. But it has been that way for a long time.Either except it.Or play something else.
0 -
Just run DS then
0 -
It's not that it's "Not as powerful and omnipotent"... it's basically useless thus nobody ever uses it.
0 -
Whether you queue solo or with friends, if you do so as a survivor, you have 3 teammates, that's just how the game is designed.
And again you ascribe a motive that just doesn't really exist. Killers are very unlikely to tunnel just because they got stunned, believe it or not people who play killer tend to understand the mechanics of the game just as well as, if not more than the average Survivor main. They tunnel to build pressure and get better odds to play against.
So three things.
1 please recognize that as Survivor, you play on a team, maybe if you are a team player, they will be as well.
2. Don't take it personally that the killer realized 3v1 is a lot easier than 4v1 and so tunneled a survivor out. By all means do everything you can to stop it, being taking protection hits, flashlight or pallet stunning the killer, or just leaving extra scratch marks to confuse during the chase, but please stop taking things personally.
3. Always struggle, don't just ######### on hook, that lowers your score and helps make your team lose.

Wow I don't have killers texting me telling me to get good and saying crap cause of an imaginary rule book that never exsisted in the first place.
2 -
All that tunneling fuss sounds exactly like moaning "muh early game" after the Ruin nerf.
You will adapt with time. Run kindred, run DS, run Iron Will and unhook safer. Get good at looping. There are many ways to make killer not tunnel you.
1 -
I wonder how significant the drop in Pyramid Head mains will be now that DS is going to be way less common.
