Console only vs crossover match times issue

Since the addition of crossover play on Xbox series x i have yet to successfully get a match in console only mode. The only way to get a match is to turn cross play on. Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix for it?

    Not many people have cross play turned off. There's no fix other than turning it back on

    Xbox series x will only be matched with other Xbox series x, not Xbox one. Even though they are both Xbox they are seen as different platforms. Not many have Xbox series x, atleast not enough to have crossplay off, so that's why turning off crossplay doesn't work well for the new consoles.
